Great hotel with fantastic food and staff. Rooms was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Time between ordering food and it being served was a slight issue at breakfast (30 minutes seemed excessive for beans and poached eggs) but was just about worth the wait. Only one car charging station working wasn’t ideal either but will definitely be back.

This is a lovely hotel - some great facilities and in a lovely country location. They are in the progress of renewing and expanding so there is building work going on and there will be a great new spa (the old one is OK but too small and once there are a few people in there it feels full, not enough seating etc). Food was nice, good breakfast and the staff were very friendly. The rate we were on was well below advertised price but our room reflected that, it was noisy due to being next to the main extractor fan from the kitchen.

Stayed in a superior room.Lovely stay at a beautiful hotel , All the Staff were excellent. The rooms were cleaned to perfection. Meals including breakfast couldn't have been better. Plenty of parking and lovely walks. All out time there we NEVER had disturbing noise from other rooms, perfectly quiet. The ONLY let down was the Pool was closed due to refurbishing. Should be lovely next time. I would highly recommend this hotel .

This is a beautiful estate, the standard of the rooms were excellent and the food/service very very good. The only negative would be the spa area for me, there is a considerable amount of mold in the women’s showers, the steam room and sauna door both fit close with a good seal and aren’t particularly warm.

Hotel is beautiful set in lovely grounds. We had a room overlooking the garden so lovely view. It was spacious with a lovely bathroom. Staff were amazing so friendly and very attentive a real credit to the hotel. The only slight issue is there is no air conditioning but there was a fan in the room so that helped. I would definitely stay in this beautiful hotel again.

Lovely stay at Aldwalk for 2 nights. Ate in both restaurants and both were amazing. Stunning interiors. Our room (superior double) was lovely and very big, the shower was great, appreciated the robes and slippers. Can’t wait for the spa to be completed for our return visit

Lovely building and setting. Good quality decor throughout the hotel. Room very nice with nice views. Nice little touches like Molton Brown bathroom products, small bottles of milk and iced water on arrival. However, our room was directly above rooms used for a wedding reception and the noise until midnight was simply horrendous. The room was vibrating and noise from guests was loud and at times crude. Overall had a very poor nights sleep. We were not advised that we might be inconvenienced by the wedding party. We were given a modest refund when checking out. Overall the staff were a bit indifferent. The stay would have been very good if we hadn’t encountered the noise.

Beautiful location, surrounded by a great golf course. Rooms were well appointed, very clean and comfortable, with nice extra touches (Molton Brown toiletries, bathrobes etc). Good dinner and wonderful breakfast with quality ingredients and a good range of choices. Excellent service and lovely staff - we returned for a second night a few days later and a welcome back card and gift was waiting in our room.

Aldwark is an excellent hotel . Refurbished the rooms are well furnished with good quality furniture. Breakfast was great, good quality ingredients . Day 1 was buffet service, and the food/plates weren't't very warm. Day 2 it was waiter service with hot, first class ingredients. Our evening meal in Elements was very enjoyable. Great steak, which was extremely well cooked.Downsides - no A/C, and window restrictors which only allowed a small volume of air in. Duvets were summer duvets, and far too hot, which meant we were too hot overnight. Also small touches were overlooked. We were given 3 hangers, there was no mirror adjacent to the hair dryer, the shower had no shelf for shampoo/soap etc.Room lighting was poor, dark shades and too dark to read comfortably. Would we stay again - yes but not during summer months.

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. Everything in the hotel was beautiful. The staff were so friendly and polite and couldn't do enough for us. The room we stayed in was breathtaking with gorgeous garden views. Outside our room we had a library with an honesty bar. It was magnificent.

Gave me a front elevation small room on 2nd floor not a garden view room which I payed for. Complained and was told there was no notes from hotels . Com to state this fact. They were not interested. Stated all other rooms were taken —-really! Food I requested in the restaurant off their menu was not available at 19.45 and hardly anyone in the restaurant. Miniscule portions. Breakfast was good. Stayed here several times and never had service like this. Will never stay here again.

My girlfriend and I went there for what she thought was just a relaxing couple of nights, unaware that I intended to propose to her. I informed the hotel of this in advance and honestly, they couldn't have been more accommodating! I sent balloons, banners etc, and they had our suite all decorated and set up for us arriving. The hotel and grounds are beautiful to say the least and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending a stay here. Thank you to everyone we had the pleasure of meeting there.
My girlfriend and I went there for what she thought was just a relaxing couple of nights, unaware that I intended to propose to her. I informed the hotel of this in advance and honestly, they couldn't have been more accommodating! I sent balloons, banners etc, and they had our suite all decorated and set up for us arriving. The hotel and grounds are beautiful to say the least and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending a stay here. Thank you to everyone we had the pleasure of meeting there.

Stayed many times before.excellent hotel, very quiet rooms Sadly restaurant has a very noisy machine which compelled us to leave and eat in our room. Staff couldn’t turn it off Also hotel is a £40 taxi from York so you really need to go there by car

Visited this hotel several times previously for long weekends and we always have a nice break, The hotel is in transition at present the latest being the spa and leisure facility being updated and therefore not in use. Room was good with all the facilities you would expect from a hotel of this stature, including a comfy bed. The hotel is set in a brilliant location surrounded by the countryside views that you never get fed up with. Food in the restaurant was also good, breakfast can other be from the Buffett or ordered from the menu. Staff outstanding as ever, pleasant and courteous always happy to help. Bunkers bar which is a separate area for the golfers is also pleasant to have a drink or eat in, especially in the afternoon sun. The one big negative for this hotel is the bar prices that are very expensive. The biggest winners are the pub in the village, which is full of hotel guests in the evening.

A short stay lovely hotel, could not fault anything. Room very nice , food and the service delivered with a smile. The diner was expensive and the wine in particular. Breakfast was excellent. There is also a lovely and very friendly pub within walking distance which is an added bonus , again the landlady was chatty and welcoming . The food highly recommended.

Lovely setting and the rooms are spacious and clean with good showers. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Didn’t have breakfast but at £25.00 each I thought was too expensive . London hotels and the ones in central York don’t charge that.

Great hotel with fantastic food and staff. Rooms was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Time between ordering food and it being served was a slight issue at breakfast (30 minutes seemed excessive for beans and poached eggs) but was just about worth the wait. Only one car charging station working wasn’t ideal either but will definitely be back.

Aldwark is an excellent hotel . Refurbished the rooms are well furnished with good quality furniture. Breakfast was great, good quality ingredients . Day 1 was buffet service, and the food/plates weren't't very warm. Day 2 it was waiter service with hot, first class ingredients. Our evening meal in Elements was very enjoyable. Great steak, which was extremely well cooked.Downsides - no A/C, and window restrictors which only allowed a small volume of air in. Duvets were summer duvets, and far too hot, which meant we were too hot overnight. Also small touches were overlooked. We were given 3 hangers, there was no mirror adjacent to the hair dryer, the shower had no shelf for shampoo/soap etc.Room lighting was poor, dark shades and too dark to read comfortably. Would we stay again - yes but not during summer months.

Just stayed for one night for birthday celebration. Very pleasant welcome at reception. Room was clean and very comfortable. Pool and sauna was good. Food and service in the restaurant where excellent. We would be very happy to return.

The whole place is stunning, staff are friendly & very helpful. Stayed here a few times & has been great every time. Sports bar is normally great for food & drinks, only thing I could possibly complain about was the lack of options for food in The Bunker. They ran out of Pizzas on my last visit & it was basically a choice of a Burger or a Burger! Apart from that this is beautiful place to stay.

We had room 109 via Hotels .com for a one night stay for a visit into York etc The room had no air con but it had a fan. In the Bathroom the extractor fan was dirty and my wife noticed that one the amenities boxes was empty. and only one hair and shower gel available. The spa however was excellent and all facilities were first class. The breakfast was first class and staff were very helpful through out or stay. One Point to mention is it was quite a long walk from the car park to the main entrance so advisable to drop of your luggage before parking. On returning form our evening out in York it rained and we got rather wet from the car park Parking could be better to get closer to the Hotels Main entrance Martin Prescott

I booked us for one night and arrived early, We were well received by the person on the front desk who was very helpful and arranged check in, once the room was ready, all pre authorisation had been completed. The food was high quality, well prepared and well presented. The spa and pool were luxurious and well maintained however there wasn’t any available water fountain which I found bizarre. The room was a delight, luxurious and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommended
