The hotel is in a good location. They sent us the the post code for the nearest car park. Which was great. The room was spacious with high ceilings. We had a meal in the bar / restaurant which was very nice. A nice stay.

An excellent city centre choice in an historic old coaching inn. The room was comfortable clean and the breakfast good albeit limited to an English breakfast /cereals. Great bar and choice of drinks. A really enjoyable stay and excellent staff. No parking but everything you need is within a short walk. Restaurants, market, theatre is 2 minutes walk, main shopping street 5 mins stroll.

Great, central location. Nice room, staff helpful and a good breakfast. Only downside was the number of stairs to our room on the second floor. I would suggest that if you have mobility issues, contact the hotel and request a ground floor room.

Clean rooms. Sadly 38 steps on the stairs to my room which was near the top of the hotel and no lift! Situated central to Chester which I found convenient but some might find the night time noise a nuisance. No parking on site which again might prove difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Pleasant stay but if I stayed again I’d make sure if a ground floor room.

This place is ok, well placed near the centre of town. It was my second stay here; the first time I had a perfectly nice quiet room towards the back of the building. This time I was in Room #1 which is directly above the bar area and very noisy. I was told the hotel was full and there were no other vacant rooms. If you do stay here, try to ascertain which room you will be given. Otherwise it was fine, I particularly liked the rain-head shower.

Building is beautiful, with lots of charm. There is a bar underneath that is fantastic. The location is central with everything on your doorstep. The room was a lovely room on the top floor, incredibly clean, however the walls in the room were paper thin, I could hear the person next to me talking all night. I get that it’s an old building, but there needs to be soundproofing in the rooms before I could justify staying again. I’m sure my neighbour could hear me just existing in the room next to him, so I don’t blame the other guest. Can’t comment on the breakfast as I didn’t get it, but from what I saw it looked nice.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Pied Bull. Staff were lovely and always around to help with anything. Room was fantastic spotless and very cozy, comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely, there was a menu and a choice of Full English Breakfast, Full Vegan Breakfast and Breakfast Sandwiches, we had the Full English and really enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend the Pied Bull we loved it here!

Good Reception team. Very clean and spacious room. Good WiFi Shower also good. Let down by a terrible mattress/ bed. Disappointed having stayed previously. Additionally no bottle of wine as per booking was given despite my mentioning it whilst checking in.

The room was really lovely, warm and felt really homely. It was clean, had what we needed, although in the centre of town, it wasn’t noisy overnight. The staff were really helpful, breakfast was lovely too. Location is brilliant, step outside and you are in the thick of it. Would definitely stay again.

Had very bad night sleep very loud vibration behind the bed in the wall , we looked to see whether there was a switch to turn off air conditioning system that we hadn’t noticed ( was still awake at 2:50) there wasn’t. We told the manager )?) in the morning he said Yes I noticed this morning someone hadn’t turned off the fans which make a very loud noise in room 3. Sorry. Well that didn’t make up for the fact we hadn’t had any sleep!!!!!! Shame as the lady behind the bar jolly pleasant as was the young lady serving breakfast in the morning. We wouldn’t sadly recommend the pied bull as we had any sleep !!!!

The room was a lovely room on the top floor, incredibly clean, however the walls in the room were paper thin, I could hear the person next to me talking all night. I get that it’s an old building, but there needs to be soundproofing in the rooms before I could justify staying again. I’m sure my neighbour could hear me just existing in the room next to him, so I don’t blame the other guest. Can’t comment on the breakfast as I didn’t get it, but from what I saw it looked nice.

Everything was excellent except for the price of the breakfast, hence we didn't have breakfast and opted to eat out. It was one fixed price for breakfast which didn't represent value for money for someone who would only eat cereal and toast

We arrived around 10 minutes early for check in, and were told to come back. They did offer to take our bags. Having looked at the website for the restaurant and food looked pretty good, so decided to eat in. I had the burger which was mediocre at best, and my wife had the fish and chips. The fish was greasy and overcooked, and the chips undercooked.. not nice at all. We booked a superior double room but little things let it down. The mattress was extremely soft and lumpy, if you wanted to use the plug sockets for the hairdryer you had to crawl under the dressing table. There was nowhere to hang a towel in reach from the shower, and nowhere to put your toiletries other than on the floor of the shower. The extractor in the bathroom was extremely noisy and stays on for at least 10 mins once turned off. A better view from the window for a superior room, other than a brick wall would have been nice. We prepaid for breakfast and didn’t really want to go but thought we would give it a go, again underwhelming. Will not be returning.

We stayed over at The Pied Bull and absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of character – you can really feel the history of the place, but it’s cosy and relaxed at the same time. The staff were friendly, attentive and clearly take pride in what they do. The food was excellent – hearty, well-cooked and full of flavour. Everything came out hot and beautifully presented.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Pied Bull. Staff were lovely and always around to help with anything. Room was fantastic spotless and very cozy, comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely, there was a menu and a choice of Full English Breakfast, Full Vegan Breakfast and Breakfast Sandwiches, we had the Full English and really enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend the Pied Bull we loved it here!

Great location and proper English style Country pub. Friendly and welcoming, good range of beers, wines and spirits. Food superb particularly the full English breakfast. Room spacious and comfortable with modern shower and bathroom. All round too stay, thanks.

Our room was lovely and spacious and very clean. It would have been useful to have a small fridge in the room as the weather was hot when we stayed. A little more effort could have been made with little extras like bottled water, more tea/coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful and although there wasn't a lot of choice for breakfast it was large and very tasty. The only downside was, as we had the windows open day and night, there was some noise from a nearby bar and the bins being emptied and beer delivery early on Friday morning. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay in this quirky hotel. Our room was on the top floor, via a set of very uneven stairs (it is very old). Our room was very hot as Chester was experiencing extremely warm weather. We loved the location of the hotel and the room was very clean.

As we arrived at check in to the Pied Bull the young lady who checked us in was looking through her computer she suddenly said im just looking at what rooms we have i notice you are on a walking stick and we have you on our second floor room but notice your stick our stairs are not so good they are very old and im looking to get you a lower room. This she did amazingly a room with just 2 steps up i didnt get her name but she was a excellent at her job and pied bull are lucky to have her. Pied Bull is one of Chesters oldest buildings. Its staircase is large and creaky. The bar and restaurant are lovely. The rooms are clean and hotel.is well.looked after. There is a beer garden and the pub brews its own beers. The hotel.is a short walk to numerous restaurants and a short walk to Chester Cathederal and its beautiful grounds. Lots of shopping can be found just a 10 minute stroll away. There are beautiful Roman ruins around the city, the city walls wrap around city and you can walk around them. You can jump off and on a bus City if it is large tour buus shich tells you all dď
