Room was lovely, we had one of the upgraded rooms with sitting area. Nice breakfast and enjoyed leisure facilities although jacuzzi did not bubble.

The room was very basic but clean, the bed was super comfortable, had an excellent nights sleep. The hotel is in a great location where you can access the canal side and have an easy 30 minute walk to Skipton. The spa facilities were shabby, jacuzzi not in use, steam room with little steam and pool area very tired looking.

Positives: nice lobby. Can store bikes locked up inside. Pleasant check-in. Negatives: very dated room. Fairly far out from main areas of Skipton. Pool was closed (we are doing coast to coast cycle and this was the main reason for booking this hotel).

We stayed at the then Rendezvous Hotel a couple of years ago and it looked tired. The restaurant, food and service were generally all good. A couple of years later and under new management, we expected some positive changes but unfortunately didn't experience anything that could be considered better than before. The rooms and especially the leisure club look like they need renovation and even though they are advertising one night stays during January offering dinner in the canalside restaurant, it was closed due to low resident numbers. In summary; overall it's tired and needs some renovation, service and staff were generally good and the meals not bad but relatively expensive.

Hotel very tired. Room stank of sewage and toilet kept filling up with very dirty water when some one took a shower in a room above us. Rooms were clean but on my stay the cleaners didn’t clean very well or leave us with replacement cups, tea coffee, milks and biscuits. Had to obtain it all from reception. Swimming pool was lovely and warm sadly the roof was in a real mess and needs replacing. Breakfast was lovely and the choice of evening meals were good, I did learn the hotel has just been sold and is going to have a well needed renovation. I don’t fancy returning unless things are put right.

Parking was a nightmare. Parking slots very narrow, not enough parking. Could not get a table in the restaurant untill 2000hrs eventhough the restaurant was half empty! Reason there was a party of 15 booked. No.mention of this when.were booked in or the question are yoy i tending to eat with us this evening...... 2000hrs way too late for us to eat

A nice hotel it’s sort of slightly faded modernish built. Room was ok. Gym and leisure was good. The service in the restaurant could be a little more polite and polished. I heard customers told at breakfast ‘they were 5 mins late’ ‘they had to sit where they were yesterday’. I asked for coffee and was told ‘you have some don’t you’ yeah that was finished and to be fair then replaced politely

The location on the canal and picturesque countryside made a beautiful setting for dining in the conservatory. The food was consistently very good, the staff friendly and I enjoyed using the pool.

We like staying in an average hotel if it's clean and well maintained.... we had silver fish in the bathroom, shower was dirty, carpet's definitely seen better days-stained. The leisure club side... ceiling looked dirty and unkept and it looked liked they'd tried to hide this fact with some strange blue material hanging off the ceiling, although the pool area and jacuzzi seemed clean it wasn't well maintained with broken slats with big holes. Showers weren't running warm in the afternoon or the next morning in the pool area. I asked the man on the reception if I could leave our wet towels with him and he said no as he had nowhere to put them due to the container they would use was being used for a ceiling leak. He asked me if I'd take them to reception which I did and then the lady said i shouldn't be walking round with wet towels. Breakfast was ok, no delivery of sausages that morning, but everything else available to have an English breakfast. A good selection of pastries, cereals and juice. Tea, coffee and toast was brought to you but only 1 slice of toast each so we had to ask for another. Not sure if this was to stop waste, but the girl didn't listen properly if it was as I'd asked for an extra slice for me and my son but she brought one for my daughter too. The restaurant was pleasant, new blinds could be something they replace as they were bent in places. I wouldn't stay here again unless they updated decor, carpets etc and it had a good clean. Isn't worth the £143!!

Location was ok. Nice vote to the rear and regular bus service into Skipton right outside. However, initial room was filthy and generally worn out. All walls were dirty. The bed was in very poor state with fraying fabric on the base. The head board and wall above was disgustingly dirty. The staff however were helpful and moved us to another room. That room was an improvement but far from perfect.

Stayed here for one night for the Christmas markets and the room was disgusting. We had to move from the first room as it smelt like drains and given another room. The second room wasn’t any better.. There was mould all over the bathroom. Mould in the room kettle. Marks on the wall. Overall would not recommend. Staff have been most unhelpful.

The hotel is tired and in need of some attention. Our room was a superior room, but very disappointing, in need of a deep clean, although bedding and towels were clean. furniture tatty, plastic chairs, carpet and coach could do with a good clean! The bar area was welcoming, staff friendly. Breakfast was fine, did get very busy, but staff did their best. Great location, would consider staying again but would ask for a different room !

We didn’t actually stay, we checked in after a long wait at the desk, but when we saw the room we checked straight back out again. The room was disgusting, carpet all stained and dirty, terrible smell of stale fat from the restaurant, only a hand held shower, no wall bracket, and a view of a skip out of the window. We did take pictures before leaving to find an alternative hotel.

Room was large and clean. The restaurant and bar area are very pleasant. There was a good choice of food at breakfast, it was freshly cooked and of good quality. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms themselves are in need of an update. The bathrooms are tired looking. The furniture needed to be replaced as the sofa sagged, the base of the pull out bed was shabby and a couple of drawer fronts were damaged. There was a draft coming from the window.

Overall the stay was reasonable. However the headboard on the bed was in need of a repair as it was all ripped. When I walked into the room the radiator had been turned up to full so it was about 30 degrees in the room. The accompanying details sheet in the room stated that check out was at 10am. I was woken up at 8am by someone trying to break into the room. This made me uneasy. I was the further alerted by someone knocking on the door at 9am saying they were housekeeping. I felt very harassed like I was being kicked out well before the stated check out time. I did feedback to the colleague on the desk when I checked out but no offer of compensation or discount for the distress it caused me. He said he would pass it onto housekeeping however.

We had a luxury suite overlooking th canal, unfortuanatey it also over looked the Bins and waste storage and the back end of the hotel (all the extractors for the kitchens and the aircon units, it was only accessible via stairs, between lift floors, this was on a half floor level. the most annoying thing was the contant noise from the fans fitted tp the rear of the building leading to a very disturbed sleep.

Was in a room with queen sized bed, and an excellent view of the canal. I have a back problem which didn't pose a problem as there was a lift to all floors. The only down size was the bath with shower, i struggled to get in due to my back problem.

ok hotel, location good , however our room was on the groundfloor with views of the car park - people walking past could see into our room and we were unable to leave the patio doors open . I wonder wehther this was because we used our tesco vouchers to pay for the room. The room was old fashioned and basic, the bathroom was mismatched , the floor worn and grubby , the room had a damp smell . The whole place was "tired " Breakfast was good , some of the staff were slightly brusk. .

Good location and good-size rooms. Breakfast very good. Stayed here several times before. This time the room with a canal-side view had one small window, with a faulty blind. The room had emergency lighting with an excessively bright green light which made a good night's sleep impossible.

Just read the other reviews. I arrived late and really felt like i was a chore to the receptionist. Then she wanted a credit card which is normal to cover drinks etc, but I asked why and she replied ‘for damage’! No explanation.

Staff were great and so helpful. We arrived in the early hours but the staff had checked us in and the night porter was there to meet us. Superb service and greatly appreciated. While the hotel is a little dated it was clean and the breakfast was excellent.

It started off with check in at 4. Our room wasn’t ready until 5:40. So we had to wait with a toddler for nearly 2 hours. (We did get a free drink voucher each for the inconvenience) When we got into the room, there were footprints on the couch and some kind of dried spillage on the floor. On top of that, there was only 1 bed in the room despite booking for 2 adults and 1 child. The sleep through the night was horrific, I can only compare it to trying to sleep in the Australian outback at the height of summer. I had to open the sliding doors into the car park at 1AM and cool the room down so my son could sleep. One of these things wasn’t too bad, it was the fact they all happened. I could nitpick at other things too, but there’s no point. The staff were as helpful as they could be in their situation.

Great location, Easy walk into Skipton along canal path. Lots of eatery options. Lovely shops and market. Hotel was reception areas lovely and staff polite and friendly. Rooms need to be updated and new beds as the bed was very uncomfortable. Cleaniness of the room was adequate.

Brilliant stay. The hotel is a fab location , 1 mile canal walk to centre. Clean & tidy with nice bathroom and a comfy bed. Thanks for supplying a fan too !

Nice hotel right on the canal were lots of boats pass and plenty of ducks. Hotel room was very hot as with the rest of the hotel this was because of the fire doors we were told. Only ate breakfast but everything was there juices,cereals hot food etc. A nice outdoor patio for a drink.Bar prices were normal hotel prices,not to bad.There are bus stops right outside so easy to get around, although we never done it Skipton is a 1 mile walk along the canal.

The hotels furnishings and amenities were the same 25 years ago. Very worn and tired. Service in the restaurant slow. Cost to stay did not reflect the service and quality received. Lovely location, poor quality.

Room was large and clean. The restaurant and bar area are very pleasant. There was a good choice of food at breakfast, it was freshly cooked and of good quality. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms themselves are in need of an update. The bathrooms are tired looking. The furniture needed to be replaced as the sofa sagged, the base of the pull out bed was shabby and a couple of drawer fronts were damaged. There was a draft coming from the window.

We had a really nice weekend at the Hotel Rendezvous. The service we received was generally very good and efficient though we were delayed slightly checking in because two members of staff were having a slightly heated discussion with each other, that's the only reason I haven't given a five for service. Things got much better after that and we had a great time. The food was excellent including the buffet breakfast, a good variety of food and the hot food was hot! We also enjoyed the very good value steak night on Friday night. We brought a birthday cake with us as it was an 80th birthday celebration and the staff were really helpful and accommodating with that and brought it in at just the right time. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and ours had a sofa in it. The only thing I'd say is that the outlook on the canal side of the hotel is much nicer than the road side, so if that kind of thing matters to you, request a room on the canal side! The lounge and bar areas of the hotel are really comfortable and welcoming and the conservatory dining room is lovely too. I used the pool, steam room and sauna which were pleasant and not too crowded, the only disappointment was that the changing room was not totally clean and someone had left litter by the pool (including an empty yoghurt pot with spoon, bizarrely) which no one had cleared away. Otherwise, cleanliness was excellent in the hotel.

Staff are fab but hotel looking dated in all areas. Things such as hot tub with no bubbles etc. Prices of drinks in the bar are ridiculous even by hotel standards, over £7.50 for a lager.

We stayed at the then Rendezvous Hotel a couple of years ago and it looked tired. The restaurant, food and service were generally all good. A couple of years later and under new management, we expected some positive changes but unfortunately didn't experience anything that could be considered better than before. The rooms and especially the leisure club look like they need renovation and even though they are advertising one night stays during January offering dinner in the canalside restaurant, it was closed due to low resident numbers. In summary; overall it's tired and needs some renovation, service and staff were generally good and the meals not bad but relatively expensive.

The hotel needs a refurb. The room we were in 304 is very dated but clean and has wonderful views. We ate in the restaurant the dinner wasn’t that warm. The breakfast was ok but the staff didn’t seem very organised. There were breakfast dishes on every table when we left at 9.30 am

We had 2 nights booked and wished we’d booked longer. This is our 3rd time at this hotel and we love it. Staff are always helpful if needed. It’s very relaxed and we were upgraded with our room, it’s like a small apartment. We had to change the arrival day, the hotel was very helpful and we even got an upgrade. The overall price was reduced.

My room was a good size and very clean and the view from the window was that of the Leeds/ Liverpool canal where I watched some of the beautiful Swans along with some geese glide by in the evening. From booking in and until I left the hotel I found the staff to be very helpful. There was plenty of choice when it came to my breakfast. So I will be suggesting to family and friends that if they are thinking of going to visit Skipton then they should stay at The Skipton Hotel
