Crown Spa Hotel Scarborough by Compass Hospitality

We arrived on the 2nd of May 26 on arrival we went to reception to check in and it was very welcoming we was given our room numbers and which way to go to find them . We arrived by motorcycle and asked where to park we was told the car park was at the back of the hotel , our parking was free but if you arrive by car there is a charge . When we got to our room on the 5th floor we was pleasantly surprised at how big the room was , the bed was very comfortable plenty of storage room . We was taking a bath/ shower and was amazed ate the television over the bath it’s nice to lie in a bath and watch television. We had breakfast which was okay but thought it was a little expensive. We enjoyed our stay for the two nights with food out in town and drinks the bar in the hotel was great and all staff very polite.

The nightly rate is reasonable but as they say you get what you pay for. The hotel in areas looks very tired. We had French windows but these were fastened shut- I guess because the little wood balcony wasn’t safe. The water was scalding hot. Some of the light bulbs were out. It was clean though. The spa is a good addition with its lovely Victorian tiles. The breakfast is comprehensive- cooked, continental but a bit bland. This was our third time at the Crown Spa and each time our room seems progressively worse/ tired in appearance. The location is great for getting to the beach and a short walk to the centre. It is obviously popular- especially with pensioners and coach trips. If you know you are not getting ‘luxury’ and want to use the spa facilities The Crown Spa is decent value.

Had a great stay, convenient to Scarborough spa, very hilly area around though. Room nice and clean but sink taps didn't work properly, no cold water, a half bottle of water left in fridge. The carpets in the corridors to the room abit tired could do with a really good clean or changing. The spa was lovely, the staff all friendly, had a lovely stay and would stay again, rooms very hot.

Did not have breakfast so cant say. But not much choice on main evening menu

Couldn't fault the gym, and the food was really good in the restaurant
