The Warwick Hotel Kenilworth

Whilst the bed / room was comfortable, the whole hotel is ready for a much needed make over. The bar had run out of all lagers/ beers , the staff didn’t seem interested in serving at the bar, I had to continually seek someone to serve what drinks they did have. The tea was appalling at breakfast. It’s such a shame as the place looks lovely from the outside.

Hotel was cold on arrival and the room was the same. Free parking was offered on check in however we had already paid from the signs on the car park. So £5.40 wasted. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was lovely. Was good value for money

Areas of hotel varied greatly between some clean, bright decor and poor maintenance/repairs and dated room furnishings/carpets. Signal (wi-fi) on room TV very poor. Room light switches dirty/grubby. Staff on reception friendly enough but gave wrong information on dining times. Parking plentiful, car park entrance had deep/wide potholes. Limited evening menu choice. Breakfast was a decent selection, but some items not kept hot.

I thought this would be perfect for a Christmas night with friends, so we could enjoy a meal together with no taxis. Although the hotel was lovely, there was no special Christmas meals on and we ate elsewhere. On return around 10pm the whole bar/restaurant was closed.

The management could not have been more attentive and helpful. The bathroom was spotless and in good working order. The breakfast was great and included gluten free cereal. The parking was free and copious. It was clear the hotel is in new ownership which I was really relieved about after seeing some of the previous reviews. It is a work in progress but it was as convenient as anywhere can be around Birmingham for the NEC and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced and great value stay

Lovely hotel, helpful stadf, plenty of parking, but terrible disable facilities!! Lift diesnt work, and only one blue badge parking bay, which was just a normal width bay next to a hedge!!..

Arrived after a long day to be told they don't have a bar or restaurant. Then told there is a place 4 miles away if I want to eat.

As a single disabled woman with a little dog, i have felt safe and comfortable here. The staff are fantastic. The rooms are clean and spacious. The location is quiet and beautiful. The other hotel guests are quiet. There is a lovely atmosphere. I have a bath tub. The grounds are lovely. The outside of the property is stunning and old. Inside is very modern. Huge car park. You do have to pay.... but the vost of stay is such good value... it doesnt matter.

Cold breakfast, wall paper hanging off the walls, literally, bar shut. Not what you need after a long day working.

Staff polite. Breakfast choice was good though cooked food was Luke warm. Beds clean but very hard mattresses. Was expecting shower not bath shower. No hairdryer or safe. Needs bigger bins. No daily housekeeping. Had to keep asking for tea, milk etc. large pot holes on exits. Very dangerous. Corridors clean. Lacks warmth though staff polite.

Terrible hotel wouldnt stay again or recommend.place is extremely dirty and falling apart.even a cat litter box in corridor. Had to change rooms as mine was running alive with flying ants. Windows falling apart.

All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Relaxing and perfect environment after a long journey

Bathroom wasn’t very clean, with lime scale on shower head etc and mould on bathroom tiles. Toilet wasn’t flushing properly and toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. Was advised with having room service but didn’t. No one at Reception when arrival, and took a very long time to attend. Wouldn’t pay £100 a night for this hotel.

Too far from city, dirty toilet, Windows not clean and mould around corners, Beds very uncomfortable. You can hear the Noice from next room toilet.

Entire hotel was filthy. Horrendous customer respect or care. I arrived at the hotel at almost 1am… room was filthy - dead insects on my duvet, then I was moved to a second room not without attitude from the hotel manager. The 40 odd pictures I am showing you - are of the second ‘clean’ room. This room cost me £300, and I couldn't stay more than one night and the unprofessional and disinterested staff watched me cry from exhaustion in my room while doing Nothing to improve the quality of my stay. I had to leave the hotel the next morning. Expedia tried to get in touch with the hotel - and they didn't answer the phone despite being available to do so. I feel so strongly about this - that as a lawyer i’ve actioned steps as the hotel have broken several sections within several consumer laws.

we checked in to find dead daddy long legs hanging from the window frames, cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom, and the breakfast was absolutely terrible! £25.90 for 2 breakfasts which consisted of scrambled egg swimming in water, the croissants burnt and inedible. I would’ve had a cleaner stay in a travelodge and having booked a superior room, there was nothing superior about it at all. tried to contact hotel for refund and of course they can’t, shock! Disputing with my bank because I didn’t pay to stay in a dirty room or bathroom!

Really nice spacious rooms, best set up for a family room I think we’ve ever had. Lovely staff on reception and bar, great value for money. Family friendly. Room looked recently decorated.

On arrival I was allocated room 29. The external sliding doors in the room are broken and unable to lock. I requested another room and was allocated room 33 The room was infected with inspects. I will request a full refund and i suggest you investigate further.

I reported a light bulb failure to reception. No interest no note take. Unsurprisingly the bulb was not replaced. No hot water one morning. Really poor mattress as well. Plenty of shiny furniture which was tricky to use as a desk. No discretion in a ground floor room with large windows.

This is clearly an old property and the oversll feel of the bedrooms reflect this...they look tired...however my large spacious bed was clean and comfortable and being at the rear of the hotel extremely quiet...

It is incredibly basic and very dated. Everything feels very confused and mismatched. Our shower was more a dribble than anything and the button for the handheld was broken. Breakfast is awful, even for £12 I would expect the hot food to be edible! Staff were pleasant enough but we always had to wait a good few minutes after ringing the bell for someone to appear. Not the worst but not ok either!

Upon arrival we entered the reception area and found a lady who was unhappy with her room. One of the staff looked past the lady and at me and my partner and rolled his eyes and said “don’t worry about her”. In our first room all of the plaster on the windowsill had blown. The bathroom door did not shut and when we did get it to shut we found that the door face had been stapled on so when we re-opened it the door face got wedged onto the door frame. The shower had a bout 5 streams of water coming out of it and did not suffice at all. We had requested a king bed to which when we arrived we found we had 2 singles pushed together so the join of the 2 mattresses in the middle were very uncomfortable. We complained about the bathroom situation and they came and looked and wanted to re-staple the door again but my partner & I were not happy about this and they moved us rooms however we encountered similar problems in our other room. When we also requested about getting something to eat at around 5:30/6 we were informed we couldn’t have any mains or starters as everything was still pre cooking. The hotel staff were very rude and not professional in the slightest. The hotel has so much potential but with the current ownership it is wasted.

The staff on reception at check in (Jagadeesh?) was fantastic! Super helpful and really supportive. However, my room wasn't properly cleaned at all during my multi-night stay. Coffee / milk etc. not replenished and the towels were not changed. The shower on the Friday morning only produced cold water and I wasn't told the boiler wasn't working (or that it had been fixed by the Saturday morning). Additionally, the breakfast claimed to have vegetarian options, which I asked for at check in, (e.g. veggie sausages), but nothing appeared any morning apart from what was already out for everyone. When I asked the staff on duty they just said ("there are scrambled eggs and beans!"). Car parking was ample .

I broke down last night and booked this hotel.... Very late arrival after midnight but staff were fantastic, quick check in... Into room and sleep. Explained circumstances in the morning about what's happened and as in on medication they offered me something to eat and drink so i could take my medication. Great staff and very friendly, property is very nice, room was huge, very comfortable bed and shower excellent. Great stay and keep up the good work.

I strongly advise against staying at this hotel! As soon as walked in, we encountered numerous issues, including no hot water, a non-functional toilet, and unwashed sheets from previous guests. We vacated the room shortly after entering and requested a refund. Additionally, two other guests were at the front desk, also disputing their rooms and requesting refunds. The manager initially agreed to process our refund through Expedia but later denied all claims, asserting that we were attempting to cancel our accommodation without valid reason. This experience was unprofessional, extremely unpleasant, and the manager's dishonesty and attitude further exacerbated the situation. When we left the hotel, the other customers there had called the police as the manager was lying and refusing refunds for other guests

Very attentive, friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean. Room and communal areas could do with a renovation but was a very good value for money.

We booked this hotel as it seemed near to where my uncle's funeral was being held. after driving around for almost an hour we found it. 1st sighting it looked lovely from outside, and once inside it was obvious it is being renovated. The reception desk manned by 2 people who did not appear to know quite what was going on they had me down for 3 bookings (only 2 made) said need to be paid for (was paid by c/c) then told I had already checked in approximately 40 mins prior to my arrival. They had put another guest in our room. Went for a meal in the pub area, on menu 4 choices of curry or a lamb dinner. Choose curry ate it but not hot and not very nice. Breakfast was a farce, no bacon, eggs over cooked, beans n tomatoes cold, Crossoints cold, the next morning was no better. The table where the tea/coffee was served was disgusting very dirty. The 2nd morning there wanted to shower, the drain was it was black muck and clogged with hair the sealant was mouldy, no shower taken only got washed. It is sad to say the 5 star on the door needs to be removed and the kitchen bringing up to standard asap or closing down. The staff have not got a lot of idea what they are doing they all appear to do be doing all types of running it from cleaning, to serving in the bar and food, to reception. They need more staff in all areas bring it up to standard before advertising via 3 areas which makes booking rooms very difficult, and a much better understanding of the English language.

I arrived at 10pm and was told that they did not have my reservations and that the hotel was full bar one room for which I would need to make a bank transfer in spite of there being a clear written sign at reception that they only took credit cards. I did not have sufficient detals for the transfer so at 11pm I drove 1hr to Loughborough and fortunately found a room at Premier Inn. So 1/10

We thoughts on my stay here are varied as there was some good and some aspect disappointing. Firstly I am a great believer in value for money and in that basis it is worth staying here. The hotel is in the middle of the country side with the local shops some 3.5 miles away. Our room 17 was fine, large enough, well presented clean, comfortable bed but too close to the road. So sleep was disturbed by early traffic. This was disappointing as I booked a garden view room, I had a view of a field but the image of the room was more like a standard room, than the GVR shown on Hotels.com We dined in the hotel and the food was okay, but the chef would not allow any variations from the menu, even simple things like “no potatoes” The management need to pay more attention to cleaning standards around the bar and garden areas, it was a lovely evening and we wanted to sit in the garden but the tables were not clean, and staff just walked past the ones that could easily be wiped down. The bar area is very Country Pub styling with nice seating but again the cleaning standards need to be improved. This place is obviously used a lot for functions and those attending the NEC which is 15 mins away, overall a reasonable stay at a value rate.

An attractive, spacious building, but aged and in need of an overhaul. 'Garden view' actually means 'Agricultural view' as there was no maintained garden to view from my room. Food = below average. OK for an overnight stay if passing through.

Lovely weekend stay, friendly staff, cosy little hotel perfect for a quiet getaway, not far from cute towns

Nice breakfast, good location for the NEC. Comfy rooms, clean and tidy, unique decor. Was there for the board game expo. The bar was full of board gamers and the staff were very reluctant to leave the lights on for us to continue playing. I also got asked 5 times for my room number during breakfast.

Arrived late compliments of work commitments. The staff re-opened the kitchen to ensure we had a meal which was excellent. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

Looked good when booking and looked nice when I got there. Checked in and room was ok, dated and bathroom had a flicking light. My major issue was the food - poor menu so I was told so had to order a Thai green curry which came out with hard rice and mushy overdone curry. I asked for a refund, no refund available which is a joke in 2025!! I then had to reorder and was served a microwaved spaghetti bolognese. I know it was microwaved as the lady at reception told me so. If I knew the food was at this low standard I would have not ordered so I could have gone and got food elsewhere. This has got to be one of the worst I’ve stayed at in 2 years

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay. The room was comfortable in all respects and the cooked buffet breakfast enjoyable. We were late arriving, as advised beforehand, and were more than happy with the way we were received. I do not aways write reviews but this one was well deserved.

The breakfast was very poor. paper cups for fruit juice and make your own coffee from sachets. We had been told to come earlyish, so did 9 for 10 cut off. The fresh coffee had gone, and wasn't replenished. No bacon, sausage, dregs of mushrooms and tomatoes. Only bacon got eventually replenished, gave up waiting for anything else. The welcome was fine, although the key card did die within 50 yards and it need need refreshing a couple of times during the stay. Bedroom was adequate and we had a good nights sleep.

Beds creaky and uncomfortable. Cold water came out as a trickle. Window wouldnt lock and we were on the ground floor. Breakfast awful! Bread stale, childrens cereal, no sausage, bacon and eggs looked powdered. Hot drinks in paper cups and no fresh milk. Freezing cold in breakfast area.

This is a truly awful hotel, that looks like it’s being run by people who have no idea what they are doing. Where does one start? Well, having had the misfortune to stay there, my advice would be, to start to look for somewhere else to stay. My room was clean and comfortable, but that’s about it. I’d like to give it zero stars, but that’s not allowed. I’ll give it 1 star, but only because I saw what I think were a pair of partridges on the lawn outside my room. I checked in and had to go back to the reception 3 times, because the keycard wouldn’t open the door to my room. Went to have a meal, the bar had 7 beer pumps on, but only 2 were working. The only choices of food were 5 different curries, mine was probably the worst curry I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m not surprised they wanted paying, before it had arrived. No starters or deserts, were on offer. At various times I saw what might have been various members of staff hanging around, but equally could have been the mates of the bloke on reception, scruffily dressed, with mobile phones clamped to their ears. Having now read the reviews, I’m glad I didn’t order breakfast there.

Firstly, I want to say that you'd give this property a 4* for the price range, but in the grand scheme of hotels, a $* at this price range is a 3* overall. The kitchen was closed, with no where to buy any food or drinks. It looks like most of the property has leaks, judging by water stains and buckets everywhere. We stayed in room 45 and it was really tiny compared to our family's other room 45A. Considering they had rooms spare, I don't know why this room was offered as it's about half the size of the others, the radiator doesnt turn off, and the room is very very dated. The larger room we moved to, one floor up, was much larger and better quality, but had windows that must be about 100 years old and let in so much wind. The TV remotes don't work, the buttons on the TV dont work. The shower is weak and the whole decor, bar the water damage on the ceiling is dated. But for the price, it's ample sized, the beds are fine and its quiet with off street parking.

Despite phoning in advance to confirm, the EV charger was not working. Had to move rooms due to cleanliness of first room (and TV not working) - 2nd room had noisy radiator (think machine gun) which kept me awake and a broken shower (unusable) - The website states that the hotel has room service but that isnt the case when you arrive. Very disappointed with the stay overall and was promised a refund within 48 hours which I haven't received 5 days later in spite of me chasing. I wouldn't stay here again, even if it was free. On a positive note the staff were friendly.
