This was a great hotel away from everything. We were on the island for a few days and did the usual tourist spots. We were looking for a place that had a pool and other things for the kids. Mill River, has a great pool, games room (fooseball, pingpong, air hockey etc), squash courts, basketball and pickleball. They have eveything there that you would need. It's an hour from the bridge. The restaurant prices were decent, and there is a Foodland within 5 minutes along with a Tim Hortons.

I would stay here again. The staff are excellent. The facilities are MUCH better than a typical hotel, but not necessarily better than other fitness-oriented resorts like the Kingsbridge Centre in Toronto, for example. The gym is needs a squat rack or hack squat / leg press combo. The sauna is not very hot. The games room was in rough shape (e.g. some games out of order, basketballs coming apart). The rooms are comfortable (e.g. high quality beds) but showing their age. In our room the sink was badly chipped and badly repainted, the windows didn't open well, lots of marks on the walls, etc. The central coffee machine was broken while we were there. And on the website it said there were bike child trailers available to borrow but when we arrived we were told there weren’t anymore, which was frustrating. But all that said, it is a lovely resort. The kids loved the water slide and the forest trails are long enough for a morning almost-5k run. We will likely go back next summer. I hope they fix some of the above issues by then.

I it’s on a golf course has all the facilities needed,pool,tennis courts, squash courts walking trails.

Pool, gym, golf simulator, disk golf event in winter, bouncy castle, game room and many children activities for the march break

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Resort has everything you need, but the hot tub was under construction, which was disappointing. Sauna was great! Luggage carts weren’t helpful because our rooms were down a set of stairs so we had to unload in the hallway after going up the elevator and carry everything down the hall. Seems a rather poor design. But otherwise it was a great place to stay.

Amenities on the property were excellent, pool/sauna/waterslide, basketball/squash, games room and golf. Restaurant was very good as well.

Solid 4 out of 5. Hot tub was closed several times to over chlorination in 24 hours.

Beautiful and clean property!

The bathroom wasn’t super clean. It had hairs on the floor, wall and countertop. The common areas were renovated and looked nice but the rooms seem to have gotten just a quick facelift and not as nice as the other areas. The grounds were beautiful.

We found the room very unclean and uncomfortable. The service was also not very pleasant or friendly. The entire family used the pool area and got violently sick sick for a week after we left. I would not recommend this hotel. Spoke with management and got absolutely no satisfaction with our complaints being made

Clean, comfy and quiet.

The property was clean and the staff were friendly. The hotel was very quiet. The TVs could use some updating. Most accommodations now have access to Netflix. Would have loved a microwave in our room but discovered the following day there was one in the coffee room down the hall that was shared.

The facility looked nice to the eye upon arrival however our room was quite dirty, especially the bathroom. The noise level was high. There isn’t much sound protection between the walls or doorways. We felt the place was overpriced as well.

Although, recently nicely renovated inside, some things could be improved to push it over the edge. The mattresses are due for replacement and the new carpet tiles in the room were already pealing up. The Callaghan bar and restaurant is very nice inside and the food is pretty good if you stick to the basics. The restaurant wait staff were understaffed throughout the 3 days we were there. Lobby area is beautiful. Also, they locked down the new smart TVs in your room so you can't launch a Netflix's app or cast, just the 12 or so standard channels.

Unfortunately the heater/air conditioner made a loud and dreadful squacking noise everytime it shut off. Annoying! Otherwise our stay was very nice.

Staff wasn’t friendly. The shower looked grungy. They put two bottles of wine in your room, but no sign telling you that if you drink it it’ll cost $25/bottle. Luckily I asked. I could hear everything through the thin walls. On a positive note the bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping staff were very friendly.

The staff were fantastic and our room was very clean. We went on a school break and our room did very little to block the hallway sounds early in the morning. I would recommend that if you are booking on a busy weekend that you stay in a room on the side of the hotel opposite to the pool.

Property views were great. Room was just okay; bed was not comfortable. It felt like we kept rolling into the middle of the bed and there were brown stains on the carpet.

The property has been updated recently, however, they mostly did cosmetic updates. The floors creak and groan in the rooms, the bathroom countertop had not been replaced and the soft floor tiles were out of place with gaps between. Beds were comfortable and it was clean!

The resort is beautiful and the golf course is amazing. We have been here several times. Unfortunately this time the food quality and service in Callaghan’s restaurant was not great. Service was very slow and the quality of the food both at dinner and breakfast was not great. Breakfast was particularly bad

Older staff were well educated on the property. Younger staff not as much. They didn't know much about the facility or where things were. Carmen was very helpful. Beautiful property. Lots of things to do .

Staff were great ,lots to do for the kids and restaurant staff were great especially April,she was very kind,always a smile , pleasant, beautiful personality and always went out of her way .Thankyou April

Everything was perfect! The staff were all friendly.

Generally great, only issue was the bartender would not serve me after sitting at your bar for 20 min. Did not even acknowledge I was sitting there. Front desk staff was great, room was great

The property, golf course staff and course and hotel including the reception staff were absolutely amazing!! The terrible is the restaurant, 1 hour and 45 minutes for breakfast, had to ask after 30 minutes for coffee, 2 plates came out and the last 2 plates came out 15 minutes later. To say the service was non existent is accurate and no credit on our bills etc for the excessive wait and the fact we didn’t eat together as a family.

Great hotel, nice and clean with friendly staff. Had a lovely facial at the hotel lobby as well. The only negative was the hotel restaurant---it was only about 1/3rd full but our order to 40 minutes to arrive, and when it did it was wrong! Plus the served the world's smallet smoothie for 8 dollars! Would definitely stay at the hotel again, but wouldn't go back to the restaurant.

Excellent service at front desk, but dining room was short of staff = result poor service. Barman not sufficient as team work.

From the moment I arrived on my bike soaking wet from one of the rainiest days ever, the staff were amazing. They promptly took care of my bike and me! It was so convenient to have a restaurant right on site and, again, the service was so friendly and efficient. Finally, I cannot thank enough the front desk and gentleman from maintenance who helped my fix my bike when I got into difficultly with my chain starting out the next morning. Mill River Resort is the best!

It may be nice for avid golfers but otherwise doesn't have much to offer. It is a stretch to call it a resort. The rooms are extremely expensive for what you get. Nothing is offered with the cost of the room. No breakfast, no complimentary meals or refreshments of any kind. Golf and bike rentals ate extra. There is access to a public community pool however there appears to be problems with maintenance in and around the pool. There is a room with some old video games, ping pong, and novelty games and a couple of squash courts but these areas are not air conditioned and get very hot and uncomfortable. There is a nice gym and the equipment is well appointed however the user has no control over tv screens and piped in music. The music was really loud and uncomfortable in the setting (country music). The restaurant is expensive with very few options. Not good for vegan or vegetarian. Five bowls of oatmeal was $65 (for example). Service was slow and confusing. There is no real resort feeling to the area. Outdoor hiking trails are boxed in with noisy highways. There is a lot of construction around the area. There is no water access despite a map showing a trail to the Mill River Marina. The trail appears to be closed to public and has become a private driveway. If you don't play golf then there isn't much around that highlights the beauty of being in PEI. All beach and nature hikes are at least 20 minute drive. It claims smoke free but we could smell smoke in our rooms.

Beautiful location. Room upgraded at no extra cost. Breakfast in the dining room overlooking the golf course was amazing.

We come here every year and love this part of the island without tourists. The resort has been renovated so well and overlooks a beautiful golf course. Nice walking trails through the woods and lots of activities including tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball, pool and arcade. The only thing missing is an espresso bar! I really miss my good coffee in this part of the island.

Great location, beautiful golf course! Will be back!

The staff was very friendly & helpful. The restaurant was understaffed with service taking a long time. My fried oysters were horrible- crispy critters & tiny! The seafood chowder was superb!

As a hotel ... would stay again. Restaurant: would not recommend. Dinner: beef short ribs - excellent Vegetables: over cooked, especially asparagus, woody and limp Breakfast: french toast cinnamon buns. No evidence if egg (french toast) and pastry was stale.

Beautiful property and location. A lot of things to do on-site. I wish they had a better food menu at their on-site restaurant Callaghans. The options were very limited and the menu for lunch and dinner was the same!

It was just ok. Asked if there were any upgrade options, there were none. A hockey team was in and the kids ran up and down the hallways until midnight. The room was way too much for what it was, old sink, very little water pressure in the shower. Hot tub was down the whole stay, and we couldn’t get a hold of the restaurant both days for room service.made mention of the hockey kids to the staff upon check out and nothing was really said, except that it’s hard to keep them under control. I’m sorry but if you advertise resort, you should at least offer some kind of compensation for the obnoxiousness of the other guests. Staff is nice but it’s just not worth the money and definitely not relaxing.

Lovely property and very friendly staff. Clean rooms, nice shower. Beautiful property. My complaint would be the wait time for breakfast. That was terrible and the quality you get for what you pay was seriously lacking. Dinner was normal wait times and tasty food. Noticed that one room had their “room service” dishes sitting outside their door for the 2 days we were there. It was the same dishes as there was a water bottle balancing on top of them.
