I absolutely love Grandview.I get up in the morning to a cup Of coffee overlooking the water.Next I go to the glorious hot tub.Next I swim laps in a heated outdoor pool.Now time to paddle with my friend or ride our bikes on Bike trail or play pickleball or go shopping at the resort of Nisswa..In the evening a boat cruise!

Very nice! Always love staying here. Only complaint would be the constant leaf blowing but it is that time of the year. Also maybe note the EV chargers require your own attachments / not super chargers.

This is a beautiful resort with a lot of upscale options to enjoy at additional costs. Some onsite resort activities are offered for free (pontoon and banana boat rides) but ask in advance how early you can sign up for the activities as we received conflicting information from various staff and were ultimately unable to enjoy them because they fill up quite fast.

Definitely will come back beautiful property. We specifically wanted to rent their bikes to go on the Paul Bunyan trail and it says they have mountain bikes/road bikes. But when we got there all they had were cruiser bikes with no speed,foot break.

Beautiful property Philip at check-in was very helpful and Silas at Northwoods bar was a great bartender. Glacier water spa would highly recommend also wonderful massage definitely will be going back.

Kids had alot of fun . Bounce room and bingo were a big hit . Hot tub floor in indoor large pool area was slimy and had not been cleaned for awhile . Vending machines with soda would have been appreciated in hotel . Staff were all great !

North is always excellent. From the moment you step out of the car under the heated entry (it’s winter) and in to the stunning two story vaulted lobby with its massive stone fireplace and comfortable seating areas. Check in was quick and easy. The room was spacious, well appointed and clean. North has arguably the nicest hotel bathrooms in the area. I have to give a big shout out to the coffee stop staff they are super friendly and took great care of us. Be sure to take advantage of the rec center with indoor/outdoor pools, whirlpools and workout center.

Only dislike from this trip... We chose this stay in large part because of the outdoor hot tub at North Park, and we were dissapointed that it closed at 8pm each night. That made it hard for us to enjoy dinner and still have time to use the hot tub.

We enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately our room was not ready until 4:15 and when we went to use the shower mat it had blood on it. Our room was not properly cleaned and was late for check in due to “cleaning”. I had asked for a late check out and I got an abrupt no you’ll be out by 11. We rushed to get out by 11 and left a stuffed animal behind. I’ve reached out and not heard back.

Popcorn in and around the cabin including on one of the beds. Confetti everywhere, spider webs around the windows, dirty dishes and utensils, back left burner on stove doesn’t work. The hot tubs were cold and young kids bumping in and out and putting snow and ice chunks into the hot tub. Very disappointing.

When we came the water in the sinks were brown. The staff ran the water inmediately. We like the fitness and outdoor hot tub area. The area very safe and beautiful instalations.

The good: lovely property, location, staff, fire pits. The bad: our room had cobwebs and dust around the ceiling, bathroom floor dirty, stained carpet, and the door to our balcony was full of bugs. The outside of the building, while lovely, was covered in bugs and dirt. For 2 nights we paid $1100 plus resort fee…I would expect clean. This company could spend a couple hours on cleaning and greatly elevate the experience.

Only complaint was north hotels shower doesn’t have enough shelves for your products while in the shower. Tv is not a smart tv and you cannot stream Netflix etc. No balcony on 2nd floor of north hotel. Mini fridge could be bigger. Over all all amenities were amazing. Location amazing. Restaurants were amazing we ate at the Italian restaurant and northwood pub. Everyone who worked at the resort was extremely friendly.

We stayed in the lodge. A very old, possibly, historic building. Floors creaked walking around the room. Bed was very comfortable. Newly renovated bathroom ... very nice. Love using a BlueTooth wristband to access room, pools. Grandkids loved all the activities in the game room but not happy it closed too early in the day. Food at the pub and restaurant was very good. If we return, we woild some when weather was warmer and stay in a cottage

We loved our stay at Grand View Lodge. Beautiful grounds, beautiful cabin like room, modern and very clean. Delicious breakfast buffet. Road construction around, but they made sure to have an alternative road for guests, very easy to get in and out. The only thing we didn't enjoy very much was the bed and pillows. They were way too hard.

The only thing about the entire trip that wasn’t perfect was the mattress was old and out dated. But it was honestly the best vacation I have been on in a long time. Staff was great and the food was great. Honestly couldn’t have asked for much of a better vacation

Beautiful property, rooms were great. Staff/customer service could be better. They have many activities planned, but unfortunately, they were either canceled or ended early. For example, live music planned until 10pm ended at 9pm, and the prior day was scheduled until 6pm ended at 4pm. We also had rented a slip for our boat, and the day of arrival was raining, and were told it wasn't possible to cancel that day's reservation. Not great way to start our vacation, the resort can cancel their events but had to charge us for a slip rental we didn't use.

Grand View is one of the most iconic northern MN resorts for a reason. The grounds and property are beautiful and the staff are top notch. We will definitely come back again.

Everything went smoothly from checkin to checkout! We enjoyed several restaurants and all the servers and hostesses were so friendly and accommodating! Only glitch was the “boat ride” - all the times were filled up the day we got there - we couldn’t sign up for the next day til the day of & by the time we got there the whole day was filled up! We did get a boat ride the day of departure but had to go sign up in person at 7:30 am. The grounds are beautiful & well kept! Beautiful area!

Stay was amazing from check in to check out. I wish I remembered the gentlemen name who checked us in but he was amazing. Please contact me to get the dates and times of my check in. He was great. The staff at the restaurant in the grand lounge was amazing the lady who took care of us on day one when we ate was amazing as well. All in all a great stay. Took my lil daughter fishing, the pontoon driver was kind and patient. Knowledgeable. We caught lots of fish and put them back in the water

Staff were great! I booked a none accessible room but specified in the comments for one. The staff reached out the next day about the handicap accessible room but they didn’t have any left. They moved my room to a more accessible room compared to the one I booked at no extra charge. We also were there during a tornado and staff handled it beautifully. I felt safe the whole time during the shelter in place.

North is always excellent. From the moment you step out of the car under the heated entry (it’s winter) and in to the stunning two story vaulted lobby with its massive stone fireplace and comfortable seating areas. Check in was quick and easy. The room was spacious, well appointed and clean. North has arguably the nicest hotel bathrooms in the area. I have to give a big shout out to the coffee stop staff they are super friendly and took great care of us. Be sure to take advantage of the rec center with indoor/outdoor pools, whirlpools and workout center.

Went here for a weekend getaway and loved the grounds! Food is definitely expensive on site but there are close by driving options. Staff was very friendly and having the shuttle for transportation on the grounds was great. Will be back!

We stayed in the lodge. A very old, possibly, historic building. Floors creaked walking around the room. Bed was very comfortable. Newly renovated bathroom ... very nice. Love using a BlueTooth wristband to access room, pools. Grandkids loved all the activities in the game room but not happy it closed too early in the day. Food at the pub and restaurant was very good. If we return, we woild some when weather was warmer and stay in a cottage

It was such a wonderful place that I’m not sure I want to tell anyone about it. It was fun being around all the young families and watching the kids have such a good time. Sitting by the lake was one of the most relaxing things I’ve done in a while and there’s a Chocolate Ox less than 50 yards away!

We had a great time on our girls weekend. The bus transportation is nice, especially if you’d had a few to drink. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable.

I grew up in MN and had never been to Grand View Lodge. Decided to take my husband "up north" to experience the vibe, and GVL was the best way to introduce him to that! We had a wonderful stay at the newer hotel-type property. Room was well decorated, bed very comfortable, great coffee bar and lobby to enjoy so we did not have to leave the building in the morning for our daily coffee. The amenities are plentiful and daily activity schedule offers a variety of things to do. The staff is professional but not overly talkative, proficient at their jobs. The lakefront location is gorgeous, and the historic buildings are in great condition despite their age. Wish we could've stayed longer, and we will the next time we can visit! Can't wait to return!

We like the location of Grand View Lodge. It is close to both Nisswa and Brainerd. The up north feel is alive and well at Grand View Lodge. The main lodge should have better signage for guest check-in. We arrived at night and it was confusing with all the out buildings which was the main lodge.

The property didn’t match up to the online description. The room we thought had three beds was not in a room but in a loft space which forced everyone to go to bed early as the room with all the beds was a space for kids to sleep. Even if we wanted to use a bed in a different room, the door wouldn’t shut properly. Besides that frustration, every surface of the property was either cracked, chipped, scuffed, torn, broken, or just in need of replacement. Additionally there was what appeared to be a clean towel that was wet and bugs came out when we went to use it. The worst part was the smell! It was a strong sewage smell that never dissipated throughout our stay. When we told registration about our experience no one was overly concerned. Lastly, the distance from this property to the main grounds of the resort was a 5-10min drive depending on traffic so we barely could enjoy the amenities. I would NOT recommend this property especially given that we spent well over $600 a night to stay in a stinky, dilapidated place for vacation!

What an incredible stay! This hotel is extremely special. From the moment that you check in and to the time you check out, everything is just perfect. The grounds are incredible. Everything is manicured perfectly. There is so much to do. We love the beach the pool And all the restaurants. We had a pontoon boat and it was so easy to park the boat if you’re looking for an extremely nice getaway this is a must. Thank you for being a top notch resort!

Only complaint was north hotels shower doesn’t have enough shelves for your products while in the shower. Tv is not a smart tv and you cannot stream Netflix etc. No balcony on 2nd floor of north hotel. Mini fridge could be bigger. Over all all amenities were amazing. Location amazing. Restaurants were amazing we ate at the Italian restaurant and northwood pub. Everyone who worked at the resort was extremely friendly.

Therooms were clean and appointed in the theme of a 1950’s resort. The bathrooms were modern and the showers great. We ate at the breakfast buffet (There were at least five restaurants on the property). The main courses of the buffet could have been hotter. The food was good and the selection other than the temperature. Staying at the Grand View was expensive. We paid for activities that we were not there to use. The staff members were friendly and courteous. We would not stay there again unless we were looking to vacation at a beautiful resort.

Overall we enjoyed the visit and suprised there were a few free items, like kayak and paddleboard use, free pontoon trip around the lake. Grounds were well maintained. Eating at the restaurants, food was just okay.

Great place for our group friend/family get together. Lots for the kids to do at the lake, we used the gym, and had a big group at the breakfast buffet which was great. Rooms were comfy and clean. We were in a cabin type room with a kitchen and it definitely could have used some more practical utensils and items (no spatula, no oven mitts, sponge) but that was the only inconvenience. Loved our stay.

Our stay at Grand View was nothing short of incredible. Very clean, beautiful rooms. The only negative thing I can say, was I wished the pool was open longer. After a day of dance competition, the pool sounded lovely, but was already closed at 8pm. Other than that, we will gladly come back each year!

1. Expedia and Grandview have a scam going where Expedia says there is free cancellation up until day of check-in. I had 2 reservations depending on the number of people going. When I wanted to cancel and I was assured it was free cancellation despite a deposit by cased, I lost my $660 deposit for one of the reservations/ Expedia blamed Grandview, Grandview blamed Expedia. When I tried to re-instate the reservation within 1.5hrs, as soon as I got off the phone trying to get my deposit back. Grandview said I had to do it through Expedia who told me it would be another deposit and Grandview, who stole my money said no because my deposit was already forfeited. 2. In writing, it said there was free shuttle to/from the Frozen Fore Tent party until midnight. It was around 10pm, standing on the side of the ice waiting for the shuttle, it was a dangerous situation given how cold it was. Several other (non-Grandview shuttles came and went). We final paid another shuttle to give us a ride. 3. The thermastat must have been broken, as we could not reduce the temp and it was very hot. Thermastat said 78 but it felt warmer than that.
