The Hydrapool wasn’t working and the spa was quite small. The hotel feels like two sides, we were in one side after going though many sets of stairs throughout the building. The room for being a suite felt very small and not that updated. The Nespresso machine was broken and in the night it leaked from the water tray onto the desk where our laptop and toiletry bags were. In the morning we told reception which we were just offered an apology.

On arrival, there was a smell in my room and I had spotted some cleaning issues. I reported this to reception and was met with ‘we are fully booked so you can’t be moved and I’m not sure anything would happen with a complaint if this was noted.’ Though an offer to wipe down the toilet was given. The room itself was small (which I knew it would be) but it made it hot and the noise of the fridge noticeable. The cleaning issues continued with a kettle full of scale and a dirty cup, the coffee machine was dusty and there was dirt near the coffee pods. The bag for the hairdryer was pretty gross. The room perhaps had just missed a deep clean but for the money and special trip I had planned, this was such a disappointing experience.

Overpriced. The rooms and hotel are a bit tired. There was a wedding and a 90th birthday at the same time as our stay which meant it wasn’t relaxing in the bar - and we couldn’t get a seat. Breakfast was overpriced too. The car park is very small and little other parking close by. It does have a great location though!
