Howard Johnson by Wyndham San Marcos

The hotel is nothing like the pictures on the website. The bathroom ceiling leaking right on top of the toilet, this was terrible. The room was old, needs painting and a good cleaning. Pillows were old and old sheets were used; the floors could have been cleaner. Overall, this was an older model hotel, nothing like the website.

The room smelled like cigarette smoke, there was no toilet paper, one roll in the bathroom that was nearly gone.

Very clean, friendly staff, clean pool and nice cold breakfast bar.

I had a good experience at the front desk. The young men at the front desk, when I arrived was very nice and friendly. I had accidently booked a room online with 2 queen beds, (Smoking), and good thing there was a non-smoking room available. The young switch it, the A/C unit was good, and had free parking. The morning breakfast included, coffee, muffins, bagels, 2 kind of cereals, and fruits, and at the time they had apples. The apples were nice, and dark red, of course, but the one I grabbed and bit on, had a brownish color which I thought was seeds in the middle. So, I showed the young girl up front, and asked her to check them out, and she didn't. Next time I know to use a knife and cut it first.

It was great no complaints only thing the bathtub drip and the room smells like smoke
