Old Orchard Inn

Nice place. We stayed in a cabin for one night on our way to our next destination. Excellent breakfast too. Their gym and pool areas are a bit too small, but we were not there for that.

Rooms were great, comfy, clean. I recently left my job as a room inspector so out of habit, I do look and was impressed. My kids had a blast and making memories with his football team. Pool and hot tub were a bonus. Had a couple fansy drinks in the restaurant. Front desk staff were helpful and always seem to have a smile on their faces. One of my daughters wants to come back there for new years eve for her birthday, so definitely will be back

An amazing property. We would love to return and stay longer. So many amenities; great pool, 2 outdoor hot tubs, sauna, gorgeous roof top deck, pickleball rackets for use. Just loved this place. Staff were wonderful.

One of my unexpectedly favorite stays on our 2 week trip. Hotel is nicely renovated. Comfy beds and pillows, nice room amenities. We were in a renovated room, gound floor over looking the orchard. We had chairs to lounge on outside our room. 2 hot tubs outside. Horseshoe pits and other yard games. Huge raised outdoor patio off of lounge. We went to local wineries (excellent whites!) and drank them overlooking the orchard.

The property is undergoing renovations and are executing them beautifully. The location of the hotel is amazing and with these updates, will really make it a must-stay. We stayed in one of the updated rooms and the finishes were beautiful. The valley view is gorgeous and the new outdoor hot tubs are a must-try.

I would suggest staying in the hotel not cottages. The vending machines were empty the entire time I was there. The menu is limited. The view of the bay is nice. The room was clean and maintained every day. The staff was good and attentive. But overall the place is dated. The gym is from 1985. Small space. It’s good enough. But I’ll look for other options next time

The pool and hot tub were an added bonus!

Lots of parking. Clean hotel lobby, halls and rooms. Quite expensive but the staff were great. It was perfect location for what we needed. Hot tubs were clean. Pool was not, lots of bugs and hair at bottom of pool but kids did not mind.

Pool was cold for a heated pool , hot tub jets didn’t work and it wasn’t full .

Pros: inexpensive, beautiful outdoor bar area overlooking the valley, close to town and shops and restaurants, comfy beds and clean sheets, nice bathtub. Cons: smelled like old cigarette smoke, our first room, a cabin, did not have AC so we had to change, they were very nice about it. Carpeting in restaurant and in rooms is very dated and dirty looking. If the hotel invested in flooring, the place would be really wonderful! Message to hotel… Wood or vinyl flooring is so much more practical than carpeting these days. It was fine for one night stay.

Bed had been slept in and not change, dirt and hair still in the bed. Cleaning supplies and dirty clothes still in the bathroom. I asked for someone to come and change the bad sheets and they said they had no cleaning staff left on site, but if I came and got the sheets I could change them myself. At $240.00 per night and I have to clean the bed before I can sleep in it! Wow Once I said no, they offered me another room and it was much better. We have stayed here a total of three times. The first two times the rooms were not perfect but not enough to make a complaint about. This time was! I don’t normally post reviews but I feel this should be shared. If they are going to charge those prices, they really need to improve their level of cleanliness! I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Old Orchard inn may be a staple in the valley, but it is old- and dirty. The carpets are disgusting . I do realize they are in the middle of renovations, so at least adjust the prices to the rooms not renovated yet. The bottom floor rooms are musty, small and have dirty, old carpets.

1. no soap or body wash in shower. 2. No mugs, glasses or creamer. 3. Floor visibly unswept & drips & sticky floor. 4. Bathtub floor extremely slippery, no grab bars or mat-unsafe. Thin walls-can hear next room on phone. Silent after 10pm not enforced. Hallway traffic loud. EXTREMELY UNDERWHELMED. Will not return or recommend.

This review is mixed. Upon arrival, we were greeted by very friendly staff at the front desk. We checked into our first level room (120) which was a drive-up room facing the parking lot. The room smelled musty and was dated and dingy. The carpet was very old and dirty looking, as was the couch. The bed was the sort of soft that comes with being old and overused. The room was so damp that the bedsheets felt damp and towels wouldn’t dry. . After our first night I spoke with the lovely Jamie at the front desk who organized an upgrade for us (at our cost) to room 227 - king room with balcony facing the beautiful valley. This room was so drastically different that we felt as though we were in a completely different hotel. The restaurant is excellent. High quality, beautifully prepared food at both dinner and breakfast. The newly redone sun deck is beautiful and comfortable. The pool and area is a good size and with a nice outdoor patio seating area but could use with more regular cleaning of the deck as it was pooling with dirty water. Grounds are lovely. Location to Wolfville and Grand Pre is ideal. Staff are helpful and friendly. The property is in need of repairs and upgrades to make it worth the price.

Room was dirty, requested to be cleaned. There was cobwebs in the room and bags. Floors were not cleaned. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Don’t waste your money. It costs us $188.10 room $10.00 resort fees 28.20 tax Very disappointed. Will never stay there again.

It wasn’t as clean as it should be. There was hair in the sink and a long hair on my sheets.

I stayed in one of the cottages. It wasn’t clear when booking that there isn’t wifi in the cottages. The meal in the restaurant was mediocre at best and pricey.

We paid for a room with a queen bed, we were put in a room with a double. The room was motel style, with entrances both from the outside and inside - this wasn’t stated in the room description. The room was dated and smelled like a musty basement. Small bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom was also uncomfortably small

We stayed in a renovated room. Super clean and spacious. Cute little walk out patio. Highly recommend!

We stayed in a cottage, which was small but clean and had very comfortable beds. The bathroom was small and the shower was tiny. Outside there was a picnic table but the ground slope was so steep we didn’t feel it was wise to use it. The outdoor hot tubs were wonderful. There is a contradiction between the main building (which looks new and modern and has a spa) and the cottages (which are very rustic).

They have done some nice renovations since we were there last several years ago. Staff was polite and professional. Renovations are underway. Restaurant was excellent. Room was very nice. Our biggest issue was the lack of soundproofing between our room and the room next door. The people beside us were up until 2:30 AM and they were on the move early the next morning. Their tv was on low and they were talking at a reasonable level (so it certainly wasn’t a wild party). But, it felt like they were in the same room as us. We could hear virtually every word. As a result, we didn’t get much sleep and in spite of all the positives, we likely wouldn’t return.

Reception was poor -minimal eye contact, minimal interaction, no regard, didn’t ask how our day was. When I asked her what time the restaurant / bar closed, she advised to read the paper she had just given me. In my business (I own and operate dealerships), this isn’t good enough. 20 mins later I went to be redeemed. I explained to redemption that n couldn’t connect to the world wifi. I’m fairly tech savvy and has already taken a few steps - and reset phone, forgot wifi and reconnected, etc. I asked the guy for options and he again told me to disconnect and then connect, which I again explained to him that I had already done so. He didn’t say or offer any further help. I walked away very disappointed. I went to my truck, where I have Starlink, moved it close to our room and connected to it. Thankfully our dining experience was 12/10. The friendly gentleman told us stories, explained our views, spoke of history, spoke about the menu, and recommended food and wines. Fantastic. Also, thankfully we overheard staff talking during our meal about the Wi-Fi being down and how the hotel was going to reset it shortly. Check out today was about as cold as check in yesterday. Granted I didn’t engage or ask any questions. The young lady politely took our key cards, I asked for the invoice to be emailed to me, she said yes of course. No one asked how was our stay and no one said thank you. Overall it was a disappointing experience that fell waaaayyyyyy short of our expectations.

This is more like a budget motel at "country inn" prices. The rooms are very noisy, with very little sound insulation and very loud air conditioning. The windows do not open so it was not possible to open a window for air, meaning a choice between AC that made it too loud to sleep, or an extremely stuffy room. Add to that a wedding party staying at the hotel on the first night that had loud conversations and parties in the hallways until 3am, and it was not at all a peaceful stay. The inn is quite distant from the town of Wolfville or any other facilities, meaning that a car is necessary to go anywhere except the restaurant in the hotel, which was nice but quite expensive. The staff obviously wanted to be helpful, but when I complained about the noise they were unable to do anything to help. The grounds face the highway directly.

Good location with easy access to Wolfville and surrounding area. Good amenities particularly for children (e.g., large pool), large dining room available and excellent parking. However, the hotel itself was incredibly noisy. While I did not request a barrier-free room and the only other option was a room at ground level with immediate access to parking lot (no thank you), that is what we got. Not ideal as everything is set at lower heights and my husband is not a shirt man! Couple that with the fact that it also had adjoining room functionality and paper thin walls, it was one of the noisiest hotel rooms that we have ever stayed in. Popular with locals for weddings and events, be aware that your stay may be disrupted by noise levels.

We had a room overlooking the Old Orchard. Balcony was a nice perk. Fridge could have been cooler. Nice proximity to Vineyards.

We love this property especially now with the renovated rooms available. We were located on the 1st floor with a view of the valley which was excellent. We will always choose to come back to this hotel when we are visiting Wolfville.

Horrible place to stay was put on main floor requested upper floor was told no, room smells musty/moldy, AC limited and set for 70 TV difficult to use plus shuts off intermittently, couch broken, very dated. Had to walk through construction to get to room with drywall dust floating around. Pool & hottub closed during peak season. Some lights in room not working. Over priced for poor quality. Do not recommend this hotel.

Limited staffing for restaurant making for a long wait time for breakfast and service overall.

Staff accommodated an early check in as i had a wedding to attend that started at the same time as check in would have been. Gave me and my partner plenty of time to get ready in the room.

The room was comfortable, beds and linens very good. Bathrobes fabulous. Seafood chowder exceptional and front desk staff very helpful.

Check in was supposed to be at 3 pm but ours was delayed because the room as not ready. We were told 15 minutes but it took over 30 minutes before getting the keys to our room. This despite the fact that numerous other check in were processed in the meantime and ALL of them got their room immediately. I think it is because the booking was done through Expedia and our room being one of the worse in the facility is not given priority. We booked well ahead of the dates and paid $700 for 2 nights yet treated as 2nd class customers.

Beautiful location and close to everything as long as you have a vehicle. We loved our cottage, it has everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed in one of the cabins. It was clean and set up beautifully. The glass is single pane so you can hear everything outside. Neighbours were quiet when we stayed so it wasn’t an issue. Pool is nice and patio deck is beautiful and great view. We had a fantastic breakfast at the hotel which was gorgeous. Hotel is only driving distance into Wolfville not walking so if that is something important to you then not a great option. Staff were terrific at check in and out.

Beautiful historic property close to Acadia and downtown Wolfville. The breakfast is made to order and excellent. I really enjoyed the Eastcoaster option with fish cakes! Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone travelling to the area.

The cottages are very nicely designed and furnished. The only negative is that it is right next to the highway so the traffic is heard all night.

Perfect tranquil spot, close to the beautiful wineries and Wolfville.

This is an older property which is reflected in the room decor.. brick on one wall of the room. It’s a basic room which meets needs. Some carpet staining should be addressed. Be careful when booking on line. The price shown with tax was $196 per night but when I arrived I was told $269 since the $196 was in American dollars. Watch your settings carefully!! Check and recheck.

Friendly staff. A room with a view over the valley and the apple orchard. A convenient location for a tour of the local wineries.

Gorgeous property with lovely modern rooms and many amenities on-site. Fresh apples in the lobby and in your room! Quick drive to Wolfville, vineyards and other Annapolis Valley attractions. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Very cute place. We stayed there as there was enough cabins for us. Very cute. They need to improve on parking spaces for the cabin. Not great if you have two cars but one being a truck.. (We had two cabins) it was hard to fit the truck. Dining in the restaurant.. the food was subpar but we weren’t there for that. I would return for another stay as everything was close by like 5-10min drive

The only hotel in 5 months of travel that did not include breakfast. Hawked wine in room at $39.99! Hard to move in small bathroom. Terrible coffee machine. Uncomfortable bed. Very dated room. Shower awful. TV hard to figure out. Very high priced for what was a very below average room. Restaurant very high prices.

Dining room staff was wonderful. Food was absolutely scrumptious! My compliments to the chef. I wouldn't have expected this somewhat dated property right off the highway to have excellent Moroccan Lamb Shank, Rib Eye Steak, Salmon Tartare, and fresh Oysters. Also enjoyed a very good Therapeutic Massage in the Spa. AND not to be overlooked is the sun deck. Lovely view, comfy furniture, and restaurant service if desired.

This was a 1 night stop on our travels through Nova Scotia and it was a pleasant surprise! They are currently renovating and so far it looks amazing. We had an accessible room that had been renovated and it was beautiful! Purposefully decorated and incredibly clean. The bathroom, which is how I judge a hotel, was immaculate. Keep in mind it was just renovated and it was an accessible bathroom so it was huge but it was well done…1 small thing they forgot was hooks in the bathroom close to the shower for hanging clothes or towel… Now for the property…it doesn’t look like much from the outside when you drive in, but they have a gorgeous huge patio on the other side with lounge chairs & sofas & propane fire pits. It was so relaxing & you can watch the sun set from there. We enjoyed a cocktail before diner & sat out after dinner too. We ate at the hotel dinning room and my husband had an amazing seafood manicotti! And our waitress was incredible…so attentive & friendly. I wish I could remember her name…Morrow?? I would definitely stay & eat here again!

Great location and close to vineyards and downtown. Dining room has limited options for a lite appetite. Otherwise enjoyed our stay.

The restaurant staff and food were excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
