This small wayside inn, a pub with rooms in may ways is just a little gem. There is nothing fancy or pretentious just a very comfortable bed, a well appointed shower room, a good sustaining breakfast, and most importantly of all great wine and beer and wonderful home cooked food. English hospitality at it's absolute best, with well trained and marshalled local staff who are always friendly and helpful. We keep coming back, it is handy for Stratford, Birmingham and the northern cotswolds.
This small wayside inn, a pub with rooms in may ways is just a little gem. There is nothing fancy or pretentious just a very comfortable bed, a well appointed shower room, a good sustaining breakfast, and most importantly of all great wine and beer and wonderful home cooked food. Over for a business trip and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. After a long warm day at a show, we where able to come back to the hotel and have an excellent meal and some amazing local drinks. Would definitely recommend

We had a one night stay while visiting Stratford Upon Avon. The room was very comfortable and clean. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Staff friendly. Convenient location, close to Stratford Upon Avon - we visited the sites, saw a Royal Shakespeare Company play and were able to take a short drive to stay at this lovely Pub/Inn.

This is a convenient and good value stop with easy access to National Trust properties and to Stratford upon Avon. The room was quiet and the staff helpful and friendly. It is a popular place for dinner and provides a good breakfast..

First time here. Very good: friendly staff, comfortable room with a great shower. We couldn't try the restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast was well cooked with plenty of options. First cup of coffee was too weak, but second one greatly improved on request. Well-kept Wye Valley and Purity ales well worth exploring!

The hotel room was great, especially the bed size. It was very clean and tidy and overall great. The only couple of slight issues was that there was no mini fridge, which I sort of understand, since they obviously want you to use their facilities, but it would have been very useful. The second point was because the hotel is next to a fairly busy road, I found that traffic noise woke me in the early morning (I am a light sleeper). Windows are only single glazed, not sure why secondary glazing has not been installed, although I appreciate it is an old building. These items did not detract from the overall great stay though. We stayed for two nights.We had dinner and drinks first night,all good.Room was compact but clean and bathroom was modern and fairly new.Our room was to the side and had a draughty window and traffic noise was loud early morning ,could even hear vehicles clanking over a loose manhole cover.Breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely.We chose the Throckmorton for location and price which wad good value .

Quiet, comfortable pub/hotel. Special thanks to Hannah who was warm and welcoming despite our late arrival and served breakfast with a cheery smile the next day.

This small wayside inn, a pub with rooms in may ways is just a little gem. There is nothing fancy or pretentious just a very comfortable bed, a well appointed shower room, a good sustaining breakfast, and most importantly of all great wine and beer and wonderful home cooked food. English hospitality at it's absolute best, with well trained and marshalled local staff who are always friendly and helpful. We keep coming back, it is handy for Stratford, Birmingham and the northern cotswolds.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Staff friendly. Convenient location, close to Stratford Upon Avon. A lovely Pub/Inn to stay at.

Stayed for one night en route. Comfortable and clean. Furnishings in the room adequate. Good, hot shower. It was bitterly cold and the duvet and pillows were a bit thin and “tired” so we were a little cool. Good breakfast and helpful staff. Advice from a previous guest to have a room at the back of the property was useful as it was quiet.

Really nice pub Accommodation was fine The food was really nice although a few more vegan options would be great. Kitchen staff where very good in telling me what was and wasn't vegan during the evening meal and at breakfast. Overall a nice stay and was a stones throw from the lovely coughton court that we visited.

We had a one night stay while visiting Stratford Upon Avon. The room was very comfortable and clean. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Staff friendly. Convenient location, close to Stratford Upon Avon - we visited the sites, saw a Royal Shakespeare Company play and were able to take a short drive to stay at this lovely Pub/Inn.

This is a convenient and good value stop with easy access to National Trust properties and to Stratford upon Avon. The room was quiet and the staff helpful and friendly. It is a popular place for dinner and provides a good breakfast..

We stayed for two nights.We had dinner and drinks first night,all good.Room was compact but clean and bathroom was modern and fairly new.Our room was to the side and had a draughty window and traffic noise was loud early morning ,could even hear vehicles clanking over a loose manhole cover.Breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely.We chose the Throckmorton for location and price which wad good value .

First time here. Very good: friendly staff, comfortable room with a great shower. We couldn't try the restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast was well cooked with plenty of options. First cup of coffee was too weak, but second one greatly improved on request. Well-kept Wye Valley and Purity ales well worth exploring!

Very enjoyable stay. Room was clean and very comfortable. We had an evening meal which was fabulous and breakfast had a great selection too. We found the room a little warm but other than that it was perfect.

Excellent stay, comfortable bed and room with everything we needed provided. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant, two courses from the Fish Friday menu, which was superb, tasty food. Breakfast was also delicious. We highly recommend this B&B.

Large and comfortable outdoor and indoor dining areas.Comfortable bed and rare to have a king/super king in pub accommodation. Slight downside...we needed to sleep with window closed with secondary glazing as the droning noise from external fan units was quite loud ..more constant than any road noise. However our room had a ceiling fan which helped with air circulation in a late summer stay. Very good dinner menu.... the slow cooked lamb special was delicious. Nice cooked breakfast.

Booked super king room but the only thing big was the bed. The room was small, shower small, creaky floors and lots of cobwebs. We couldn’t find any lights after coming back up to our room and had to use torch on our phones to find instructions! After moving bedside tables found lots of cobwebs! Restaurant food was very good.

The room was small but perfectly adequate, but with a very soft bed meant I was closer to the wife than normal! Shame about the central heating being left on maximum during a heat wave. The attached pub was friendly and this makes any establishment better. The breakfast was superb.
