Host gave us clear instructions to avoid construction on arrival and restaurant recommendations in a nearby town (the fish place was amazing!) Parking area was easy to navigate. Common area was nice to have but filled up quickly with small children in the evening. We could hear conversations through the wall of our room from the other side but we slept well. We didn’t get to try the cafe. Overall a good value.

A quiet and picturesque location with comfortable accommodation and attentive hosts. A morning walk around the nearby loch was exhilarating. The cafe serves; meals, drinks and a large selection delicious fresh cakes. Dog water bowls provided.

Photos gave the impression that rooms looked out over the lock. They didnt. And that the shared kitchen was equipped to self-cater. It wasnt - no hob.

Lovely please. We checked in late but we had all the instructions left out for us and then a lady came to find us to tell us what was what. The rooms were very comfortable, lots of tea and coffee. And then the bonus, there was a shared area where they had free tea, coffee, milk, fruit juice, cereals. All for us to enjoy. Would definitely recommend and if we are in the area again, we will be staying here. Fantastic place

Fick information om att kontakta boendet dagen innan ankomst. Mailade och fick bra information. Igen var där och tog emot, vilken vi fick information om, men nyckel fanns i entrén och det fungerade bra. Inga handdukar fanns i rummet, men hittade i ett skåp i korridoren. Frukosten fick man ta själv i det lilla köket, bröd, smör, marmelad, yoghurt, juice, mjölk och flera sorters flingor samt te och kaffe. Det fanns lite plats i kylskåpet för våra egna matvaror. Microvågsugn, brödrost, nåt slags grillugn och porslin, glas och bestick. Ingen spis eller ugn. Mysig lounge, där vi hade en trevlig kväll med de andra gästerna. Heltäckningsmatta i badrummet känns inte så hygieniskt. Betalar gör man i caféet, men det är stängt tisdag och onsdag, så man får kontakta ägaren Gareth för att få betala, det funkade bra för mig. Han är trevlig. Lite krångligt att ta sig dit på små landsvägar men fungerade med GPS. Inga matställen eller affärer finns i närheten.

Sehr nette Vermieter, ruhige Lage. Der See ist sehr schön auch zum schwimmen. Parkplätze in ausreichender Anzahl vorhanden. Die Kuchenauswahl im Café sah sehr lecker aus, leider haben wir nicht davon probiert

A beautiful, quintessential Scottish room. Incredibly comfortable bed and a nice selection of light breakfasts and hot drinks. Really helpful having a dishwasher there too! Lovely views and walks nearby. Would definitely return.

Our stay was lovely. I especially liked the sitting/kitchen area. I have never seen this before. Gareth and Ann were really nice, even sorting out my phone. Would definitely recommend this stay.

er zou een uitgebreid ontbijt inclusief zijn dit is echter niet waar. men kan zelf ontbijt maken dat bestaat uit brood en boter (oud brood) verder is er niets terwijl er een cafés onder de accommodatie is. de eigenaar hebben we alleen tijdens de incheck gezien. onze kamer is niet 1x schoongemaakt in de 3 nachten dat we zijn geweest.

Très bel endroit. Chambre petite surtout avec des bagages mais propre et confortable. Petit-déjeuner sous forme de toasts, yaourts, pommes et céréales en libre service. Thé, café et jus de fruit à se préparer dans la cuisine commune. Pas de contact avec les hôtes. Nous sommes restés 2 jours et le café était fermé. Dommage !

到着が遅くなってしまったのですが、対応していただき、大変助かりました。部屋は広くて綺麗で快適に過ごすことが出来ました。朝食は自分で用意する簡単なものですが、ダイニングルームでのんびりと食事することができました。

What a fantastic jewel of a find! Gareth & his staff were so welcoming. Our room was one of the smaller ones but spotless & all we needed for 2 nights, with a great fancy, modern en suite shower. Outside caterers on the Friday night provided fantastic food & the Wee Bear Cafe provides superb home made fayre during the day. Would definitely recommend this wonderful place to stay.

Spoke to Lodge beforehand as we were turnng up very late. All very accomodating. Bed felt as though it was sloping down and my husband felt he was about to fall off when turning over. Other than that the room wasvery comfortable and certaiyvadequate for what we were after. Breakfast is basic cereals, coffee, tea and toast available on a DIY basis in guest kitchen lounge area. Although Wee Bear Cafe is available for foid etc after 1000, which is after check out at 0930.

Superbe accueil! La chambre était petite mais très confortable. N'est-ce pas la définition de "cosy"? Notre hôte était à l'écoute. La partie commune est suffisamment grande et l'offre pour faire son petit déjeuner soi-même était formidable.

We arrived within the set arrival time but found it locked. Eventually found someone and got in. We weren't given the room we booked, no full breakfast as booked and the accompanying cafe /bar was closed. There is no Loch view from anywhere (even though paid for this).

Der Kontakt war per E-Mail super nett und Antworten kamen immer sehr schnell. Das Bett war leider ziemlich schmal für 2 Personen, aber sonst war das Zimmer gemütlich.

Nice lodge, spacious family room. Very quiet location. Only disappointment is Hotels.com advertised it as providing full breakfast but basically you were given access to a communal kitchen where cereal, toast, jam, juice cartons and some fruits were self service. We didn't mind so much but others who are expecting a proper fry up breakfast may be dissatisfied.
Nice lodge, spacious family room. Very quiet location. Only disappointment is Hotels.com advertised it as providing full breakfast but basically you were given access to a communal kitchen where cereal, toast, jam, juice cartons and some fruits were self service. There was a mix up between the website and the lodge. Check in is 4pm on wards. Checkout is 9.30 not 11am. No full breakfast only self service breakfast and access to some items. Location is beautiful, relaxing and quiet. Gareth is lovely and friendly and helpful. Room was the small room but perfect for what we needed. We had a lovely staff. Explained to Gareth the mix up with hotels.com and said worth checking the details.

Klein und niedlich, bei später Anreise ist trotz das kein Angestellter da ist alles super zu finden und alles super vorbereitet. Gastgeber sind total lieb und hilfsbereit und auch für Spaß zu haben. Wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt.

Our stay was lovely. I especially liked the sitting/kitchen area. I have never seen this before. Gareth and Ann were really nice, even sorting out my phone. Would definitely recommend this stay.

Great hosts, beautiful location. The accommodation is a fantastic conversion and the rooms are very nice. Free Breakfast is handy if you want something quick or if you’re willing to go spend some money in the cafe I’d recommend it as the food and atmosphere is lovely.

Setting is lovely but quiet. Need to drive some 7 miles for foods . Owner very personable and informative. Perhaps cafe was open on our arrival day, it might be easier. Overall we had a nice stay.

A beautiful, quintessential Scottish room. Incredibly comfortable bed and a nice selection of light breakfasts and hot drinks. Really helpful having a dishwasher there too! Lovely views and walks nearby. Would definitely return.

We had a lovely stay, the food was fantastic, the area gorgeous and dog friendly. The loch is right across the road so we had an afternoon dip and there was space for our dog to freely roam. The evening platters were lovely and there was a vegan option for my partner with plenty on the meat platter for me. The were very helpful, accomodating and we will definitely be back again.

er zou een uitgebreid ontbijt inclusief zijn dit is echter niet waar. men kan zelf ontbijt maken dat bestaat uit brood en boter (oud brood) verder is er niets terwijl er een cafés onder de accommodatie is. de eigenaar hebben we alleen tijdens de incheck gezien. onze kamer is niet 1x schoongemaakt in de 3 nachten dat we zijn geweest.

Très bel endroit. Chambre petite surtout avec des bagages mais propre et confortable. Petit-déjeuner sous forme de toasts, yaourts, pommes et céréales en libre service. Thé, café et jus de fruit à se préparer dans la cuisine commune. Pas de contact avec les hôtes. Nous sommes restés 2 jours et le café était fermé. Dommage !

There was a mix up between the website and the lodge. Check in is 4pm on wards. Checkout is 9.30 not 11am. No full breakfast only self service breakfast and access to some items. Location is beautiful, relaxing and quiet. Gareth is lovely and friendly and helpful. Room was the small room but perfect for what we needed. We had a lovely staff. Explained to Gareth the mix up with hotels.com and said worth checking the details.

What a fantastic jewel of a find! Gareth & his staff were so welcoming. Our room was one of the smaller ones but spotless & all we needed for 2 nights, with a great fancy, modern en suite shower. Outside caterers on the Friday night provided fantastic food & the Wee Bear Cafe provides superb home made fayre during the day. Would definitely recommend this wonderful place to stay.

Fick information om att kontakta boendet dagen innan ankomst. Mailade och fick bra information. Igen var där och tog emot, vilken vi fick information om, men nyckel fanns i entrén och det fungerade bra. Inga handdukar fanns i rummet, men hittade i ett skåp i korridoren. Frukosten fick man ta själv i det lilla köket, bröd, smör, marmelad, yoghurt, juice, mjölk och flera sorters flingor samt te och kaffe. Det fanns lite plats i kylskåpet för våra egna matvaror. Microvågsugn, brödrost, nåt slags grillugn och porslin, glas och bestick. Ingen spis eller ugn. Mysig lounge, där vi hade en trevlig kväll med de andra gästerna. Heltäckningsmatta i badrummet känns inte så hygieniskt. Betalar gör man i caféet, men det är stängt tisdag och onsdag, så man får kontakta ägaren Gareth för att få betala, det funkade bra för mig. Han är trevlig. Lite krångligt att ta sig dit på små landsvägar men fungerade med GPS. Inga matställen eller affärer finns i närheten.

Nice lodge, spacious family room. Very quiet location. Only disappointment is Hotels.com advertised it as providing full breakfast but basically you were given access to a communal kitchen where cereal, toast, jam, juice cartons and some fruits were self service. We didn't mind so much but others who are expecting a proper fry up breakfast may be dissatisfied.

I was disappointed with our stay give how well reviewed the property was. We struggled to get hold of the property on the day before check in, and only got an email reply when I accidentally emailed the previous owner who forwarded the query on. The room was small and the skylight didn’t have a curtain, so we would’ve been woken up very early as our stay was in the summer. We made a makeshift curtain with our clothes, but that meant we couldn’t open the window, annoying during a heatwave. We tried to contact the out of hours number about the lack of skylight curtain to see if they had a solution, but they didn’t respond and didn’t pick up when I called. On the same note, the heated towel rail was left on so the small room was very hot when we arrived. The shower control knobs came off, so it was hard to get the shower to work. The bed was small and the duvet thick (not great during a heatwave) but mostly the bed was inconvenient as it was high in the middle and sloped to the sides. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, at least in summer.

We had a lovely stay but breakfast was inconsistent. The second day we were left with mouldy bread or cereal. We were fine with cereal but choice was limited. Previous day we managed some delightful croissants. Parking was random - there are no dedicated spaces for residents so you take your chance. Room was comfy and clean enough. I would visit again though

Lovely location. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast included was a help yourself in a self service galley kitchen. Difficult when everyone has to be out at 10am. Four different couples all trying to get in to as small. I can definitely recommend the Wandering Bear Cafe. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. Great atmosphere. The manager has recently taken over, is fully aware of issues, therefore it's a work in progress and he welcomes feed back. We arrived at a difficult time. Congratulations on your new baby. We look forward to seeing the progress and would stay again.
