Dodo Hotel

I've stayed here mutiple times and nothing has changed, though that's mostly good - it's a very good value for money - simple, a little worn down, clean hotel with great and helpful staff. Close to the center of the city, free parking outside on the street, though they have a secured parking a couple of minutes walk away. The wallks are thin but fortunately it didn't matter this time.

You get here by getting the no. 22 bus from the airport to the city centre then get tram no. 7. Hotel looks modern but the surrounding area is the opposite. Desk is 24 hrs which helps if you arrive near to midnight like I did. Staff were very friendly, I did not get any hint of any frustration from the staff when requiring any help. Close to city centre. Only complaint was that the bathroom and especially the shower were tiny.

Very good and nice budget friendly hotel in Maskavas Forštate. Right by the tram stop for line #5 (Daugavapils iela) and a decent Maxima supermarket about 25 meters away. Cheap, clean, lots of TV-channels and good WiFi. Really nice hotel and could really recommend.

This hotel is kind of away from the main tourist area, but it’s quiet and clean; and, the tram is so easy and fast. The market is 2-3 stops. It’s basic accommodation, but comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. There was an issue with some other guests, and management was quick to respond.

Rummet är otroligt varmt, dålig städning, trångt, obehaglig doft, kuddar och täcket var inte mycket att hylla och frukosten bestod av två sorters mackor, varm mjölk och lite flingor. I det trånga badrummet fick vi besök av silverfiskar samt att hotellet är otroligt lyhört så om man är fin i kanten ska man nog överväga något annat.

Staff excellent, very clean room, in my room very bad Wi-Fi, at night little bit noisy. Excellent commuting to the centre and very easy with Tram 7 & 14 always available and the tram stop is just at front of the hotel, very convenient. Also at the front of the hotel there is Maxima shop everything is available food, drinks etc..

Wir haben uns auf die Reise sehr gefreut und sind als Gruppe von 4 Personen im Dodo Hotel angereist. Ein Zimmer wurde hier für 4 Personen (Familieroom) gebucht, welches ein Doppelstock Bett und ein Doppelbett enthalten sollte. Beim Check In wurde uns mitgeteilt das dieses Zimmer nicht mehr verfügbar war und wir zwei Einzelzimmer mit jeweils einem Doppelbett erhalten sollten. Diesem wurde von uns unfreiwillig zugestimmt. Ich möchte den Zustand des Zimmers weder beschreiben noch dokumentieren, denn hier ist die letzten Jahre nicht viel renoviert bzw. repariert wurden. Der schlimmste und absolut unverständlichste Fall war, daß in einem Zimmer die Dusche nicht funktionierte. Sie war mehr als defekt, denn es floss kein Tropfen Wasser. Leider kann dies auf Bilder nicht festgehalten werden, jedoch habe ich ein Video als Beweis. Es gibt nach einer langen Reise eigentlich nichts schöneres als eine Dusche, jedoch war dies für uns nicjt möglich. Das Hotel befindet sich in einem absolut heruntergekommenen Viertel. Ruinen und beschäftigte Straßen und Häuser schmücken die Landschaft. Uns wurde vom Taxi Faher ans Herz gelegt es am Abend nicht zu verlassen. Der Geruch in den Zimmer war fast nicht auszuhalten. Das Frühstück war sehr lieblos und spartanisch bestückt. Eine Freunde hat uns das Hotel leider nicht bereite denn ohne Dusche absolut nicht zu empfehlen. Hierzu werde ich auch eine Beschwerde einreichen. Für Familien leider absolut nicht zu empfehlen und prinzipiell für niemanden

You get what you pay for. The rooms shower and wc was kind of dirty and it was very cold. There was a weird smell too. But it was cheap and the workers were very kind and check-in/check-out was easy.

Upon arrival, the male receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and cosy; the shower room and toilet were clean too. Our buffet breakfast each day was good - choices: cereal, yogurt, croissants, cheese/cooked meats/toast/ assorted jams/orange juice/tea/coffees. The breakfast room staff were very friendly and helpful and would make you an omelette if you asked them. We stayed at The Dodo Hotel as the reviews were good. The nearest tram stop to the hotel is about 10/15 yards away from the hotel entrance. It was so easy to get a tram into/back from the city centre. We did walk to the city centre a few times but it takes about 20 minutes. It only costs just over 1 Euro for a single tram ticket which you can buy from any of the Harveson shops. The Maxima supermarket (about 25 yards from the hotel entrance) was great for any snacks/sweets/beer we wanted. We would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.

Matresses are too soft. Stools are not made for people with back problems. Poor selection of TV channels.

Decent budget hotel only a long walk or few stops by tram away from Old Town. Quiet with windows one can open.

Ales gut,für den Preis kann man nicht meckern. Aber das Frühstück kannst du vergessen,bevor man bezahlt lieber ein mal reingehen und sich anschauen!

Dyrt i förhållande till leverans! Jättefina sängar! Frukosten mycket att önska: långsam, högljutt, saknade ägg, grovt bröd, grönsaker, flingor!!

Det var den verste hotell opplevelse vi har hatt. Dårlig lukt , trangt rom og ikke minst den verste frokost.
