It isn’t a huge amount of money, but it felt rather disappointing and left a bit of a bad taste, particularly as I’ve never encountered this kind of distinction between direct and third-party bookings before. The access hours for hotel guests to use the pool were also quite restricted, which is worth being aware of. Our bedroom was too warm and, unfortunately, we only discovered just before going to bed that the fan provided didn’t work. The free Wi-Fi also didn’t work for us, although to the hotel’s credit, we were immediately given the access code for their faster Wi-Fi instead. There is a lot to like about the hotel, particularly the cleanliness, breakfast, setting and friendly staff, but the unexpected parking charge and restricted pool access made the overall experience feel a little less welcoming

The room was very clean and well maintained and the comfort of the bed was amazing. Check in staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was Self service but superb. We didn’t use the spa on this occasion as we were there to attend a wedding but have used it previously and it is top notch. My only bug bear is that due to not booking direct I had to pay for parking at £12. This didn’t sit right with me because if using the spa, parking is free, if I had just attended the wedding and had not stayed the night parking would have been free. So then when I give them more custom of staying the night I had to pay because I hadn’t booked directly.
