The Stirk House is an absolutely beauty. It’s located in a picturesque setting surrounded by fields and sheep. If you want a low key, peaceful country setting with an amazing staff and restaurant, you found it! We loved staying here and definitely plan to come back. Lots of room to roam, walking paths and countryside roads to explore. Also, plenty of free parking was very nice. 10 / 10

Attended a family wedding, had a great time. Lovely scenery, food was excellent (except the roast potatoes could have been a bit crisper!) The sticky toffee pudding was one of the lightest I've ever tasted and was just right after a large meal. Fantastic breakfast, eggs were cooked perfectly and nothing had been left out for too long. Room was spacious and, apart from a lack of a power socket near the bed, very well laid out. Nice and clean.throughout.

We actually stayed for 2 days , staff very good , first night we got taxi to Clitheroe for food and drinks , Clitheroe is a nice town . Breakfast in hotel was fine with plenty of choice , all the food we had on the wedding day was excellent . The hotel is kept spotless as well as the wedding venue . Only slight criticism is drink prices which are ok if you like 1 or 2 drinks , but if you’re there all day its going to cost . All venues seem to do this and I understand paying staff etc , but the venues are paying very little for alcohol with a ridiculous mark up . Other than that excellent all round

This is a stunning building in gorgeous surroundings. Unfortunately for me the interior decor badly lets it down as it is faded and very dated. The owners really need to capitalise on the history of the building and decorate in a sympathetic way. The harsh 80s style lighting in particular needs a complete overhaul. Having said that, it is clean and comfortable and the staff are cery friendly and helpful and I would recommend it for an overnight stay.

Room 16 was very nice apart from 2 double glazing units which had blown and need replacing. Also,the day before we arrived we received an email regarding an offer in the restaurant but when we arrived there was no sign of the offer until we asked.surely if there’s an offer on they should advertise it. However I would like to thank them for 2 glasses of Prosecco for our anniversary.

Lovely location and setting, all staff very friendly, excellent breakfast. Rooms need a little attention to detail, bathroom fan very week,remote control for tv had no back to it,which made it unreliable, wifi also a bit iffy, but overall a lovely stay.

Looks amazing from the outside, and beautifully warm, cosy, and luxurious on the inside., especially sat on the huge settees in front of the roaring log fires in the main lounge. Room was warm and spacious, with super king bed, settee, 2 TVs, large bathroom. All staff were polite and very friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely stay again.

Liked the room and the view from it. Didnt like the plastic flowers in public areas - It wouldnt have cost much to have had some real daffodils and spring flowers. The plastic flowers really degraded a fine old building and really lowered the standard!

The standard of customer service from arrival to departure was absolutely fantastic, every member of the staff we encountered were a delight & very welcoming. We stayed one night after being guests at a wedding, our room was lovely, the bed so comfy, and everything we needed was in the room. Quality breakfast. A very excellent stay. We would most certainly return.

Check-in was easy, but i have very obvious disability and mobility issues, but we were given a room at the furthest end of the property. I would have thought, when meeting me, that maybe these issues would have promped them to offer a more conveniently placed room. The stairs were very difficult for me to manage. Although the room was really nice, with a beautiful, large bathromm, i would have expected a fridge as standard and maybe a small table to use when sirting on the sofa. I had to put my drinks on the windowsill which appeared freshly painted, as my cup stuck slightly to the paint, which is a shame. The evening meal was fine and the young barman/waiter couldn't do enough to make me comfortable, as i had a very painful hip. Buffet breakfast was quite good and the chef was very helpful in guiding me through the options and carrying my plate for me as i have a severe visual impairment. We wre staying there on out wedding anniversary as we married at Stirk House 15 years ago and all-in-all, we did enjoy our stay, apart from the issues I've mentioned.

The evening meal was fine and the young barman/waiter couldn't do enough to make me comfortable, as i had a very painful hip. Buffet breakfast was quite good and the chef was very helpful in guiding me through the options and carrying my plate for me as i have a severe visual impairment. We wre staying there on out wedding anniversary as we married at Stirk House 15 years ago and all-in-all, we did enjoy our stay, apart from the issues I've mentioned.

The Stirk House is an absolutely beauty. It’s located in a picturesque setting surrounded by fields and sheep. If you want a low key, peaceful country setting with an amazing staff and restaurant, you found it! We loved staying here and definitely plan to come back. Lots of room to roam, walking paths and countryside roads to explore. Also, plenty of free parking was very nice. 10 / 10

This is a stunning building in gorgeous surroundings. Unfortunately for me the interior decor badly lets it down as it is faded and very dated. The owners really need to capitalise on the history of the building and decorate in a sympathetic way. The harsh 80s style lighting in particular needs a complete overhaul. Having said that, it is clean and comfortable and the staff are cery friendly and helpful and I would recommend it for an overnight stay.

Attended a family wedding, had a great time. Lovely scenery, food was excellent (except the roast potatoes could have been a bit crisper!) The sticky toffee pudding was one of the lightest I've ever tasted and was just right after a large meal. Fantastic breakfast, eggs were cooked perfectly and nothing had been left out for too long. Room was spacious and, apart from a lack of a power socket near the bed, very well laid out. Nice and clean.throughout.

We actually stayed for 2 days , staff very good , first night we got taxi to Clitheroe for food and drinks , Clitheroe is a nice town . Breakfast in hotel was fine with plenty of choice , all the food we had on the wedding day was excellent . The hotel is kept spotless as well as the wedding venue . Only slight criticism is drink prices which are ok if you like 1 or 2 drinks , but if you’re there all day its going to cost . All venues seem to do this and I understand paying staff etc , but the venues are paying very little for alcohol with a ridiculous mark up . Other than that excellent all round

A very enjoyable overnight late booked stay. The room was a suite, very comfortable and clean and at an exceptionally good price.The food for evening meal and breakfast was excellent and delicious. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful. Thank you a great night away.

Delightful hotel with loads of character, excellent staff, gorgeous setting, good food and wine. Cooked breakfast options a little limited. Larger and better quality pillows would be good. Would definitely return.

Great place, great staff, comfortable rooms and beautiful setting. My only issue would be the interior does not match the exterior charm. They have lost an opportunity to make a charming interior in the main entrance, bar and rooms but have instead brought in cheesy carpet, walls that feel carpeted and just overall dated look that hides the charm of the building

The entire staff was extremely helpful for my entire stay. The cooked breakfast was very well done in my opinion. The hotel is located on a beautiful site in the country. My room was very clean and welcoming. My only suggestion would be for them to replace the carpet in the hallways.

Just had an amazing stay at this hotel, booked a dog-friendly suite which was superb! Separate lounge with lovely views over the fields, very comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom with standalone bath. The staff were very friendly and the food at the hotel was very tasty and a reasonable price too. Had a great stay and will certainly be returning.
