Overall great clean resort. Fantastic buffet breakfast and nice dinner options . It’s right on the beach so if the pool chairs are occupied (usually they are by midmorning ) you can go relax on the beach. Close to village shopping and dining. However, I was disappointed for a couple of reasons. First of all, it didn’t have a valet parking. Every time we went out we had to get the car ourself. Once we left the car in the courtyard for 10 min because we needed to get changed quickly for our dinner reservation the staff told us to park in the parking lot. We insisted so eventually they let us park on the side of the courtyard. Most hotels in the area had valet ( we checked when we went for dinner) The other thing I was disappointed about was that most of the time they run out of pool towels by 1-2 pm. We stayed there for a week. They closed the pool hut and pool food and drink service by 5pm. The guests can use the pool until 11pm though. I think the resort is a bit overpriced for those reasons . On the other side we had amazing sunset view from our ocean front balcony - priceless.

We loved our stay but there is obviously newer and older parts of the hotel and we were in the older part which wasn’t too bad as the room was updated but didn’t have a microwave (they charge $10 a day for rental of one) and everything costs a lot of money, from parking to food, to activities (like a luaus at the hotel would have cost us $400 on top of what we paid to stay here and the “resort fees “ we saw at the end of our stay during checkout. The only other thing is that the service at the restaurant is extremely slow, even if you’re one of two people there and there’s no shuttle to the airport, which has caused us to spend a bit of money on Ubers and a rental. Otherwise it’s a very nice place, everyone is very sweet, family friendly and all that

The hotel was very nice. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Parking is easy. We had an ocean view room and the bathroom was larger than normal and the bed faced the ocean….lovely! The fitness center and the spa were both fantastic. The pools and the grounds were well done, and the beach is a short walk through the ponds. Overall very nice property.

Old elevators. One was on/off broken. Extremely expensive for unknown reasons. Fries are $16! The property outdoor is nice but the beach turned out to not belong to Marriott anymore. Which wasn’t mentioned on their website. It’s a 3rd party and rental for a covered chair is $75 for 4 hours. Overall, I think it’s a nice hotel but it’s way overrated and way too expensive for what it’s offering thinking of taxes this and taxes and taxes on resort fee and it’s insane. I’m ok paying for all these taxes, but I think we shouldn’t be charged so expensively for food.

The Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort is a beautiful property with gorgeous views of the western coast of the Big Island. Located on A Bay, the resort grounds provide access to a boardwalk around traditional fish ponds, which are an integral and culturally significant aspect of Hawaiian traditions. The board walk has informative signs that educate visitors about the significance of the ponds, and the walkway is beautiful and peaceful. The shores along the bay are pretty and the water is calm, inviting an easy stroll down the beach. The lobby floor is open to the coastal breezes, inviting visitors to linger and enjoy the outdoors. Out of the busy city center but only 25 minutes away, the property is a welcome and relaxing respite. Nice location on a lovely beach. Overall hotel is very beautiful. Limited dining at the hotel and the ocean view room didn’t deliver on the promise on the third floor but if you were lucky enough to be on the fifth or higher certainly did. Not enough pool chairs with shade options. Great pool diversity though. Overall a great time but definitely doesn’t inspire “have to come back” feelings.

Very good well kept hotel. The main pool is glorious, if you go at 7AM to have it all to yourself :). Very quiet property, far from traffic noises, even the AC is whisper silent. Landscapers use electric EGO tools in the morning, finnaly! Convenient shops and ABC Grocery store in walking distance. Rooms are a bit small, but well kept. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Very dry sunny weather location. Overall a very relaxing stay. It is familly friendly/popular, like most of Hawaii... The only negs would be the actual beach, which suffers from being very rocky in shallow water - you'll have to drive 15 mins to Hapuna if you want a good beach experience, and the somewhat iffy dining choises. The restaurant is very good for breakfast (try the Rancher omelet) but dinner options are expensive, and the restaurants arround it were uninspiring. Depends on taste - we ended up driving to Kailua Kona for dinners (Fish Hopper rules) Oh, and be aware of fees, there is a $40 resort fee and $30 self parking fee per DAY, on top of your room booking, and I don't recommend going car free.

This was our second stay at the Waikoloa Marriott. We really enjoy this place because we got engaged and married in Hawaii. Although our first trip was miserable because they were renovating using jackhammers and there was no peace to be had with all the noise. However, this trip was better. The room’s cleanliness leaves something to be desired but it was still very enjoyable for us. We like to walk around the lava rocks or over to the beach and lay in the beach recliners enjoying the water and the folks swimming in the Bay/Ocean. The people that stay here are friendly and safe. We met a good friend there, Rae Z and it was just a time we will never forget.

We spent four amazing relaxing days at The Waikoloa Marriott. Our room was very nice and clean. The two pools, three hot tubs, and small sand pool were beautiful. The walkway over to the beach was great. We didn't eat at the restaurant but did have breakfast at the cafe - great Kona coffee. Within walking distance of The King and Queens shopping areas with several restaurants and cute local shops. Great place to stay!

Great staff, beach, and location. Shared spaces in the hotel are lovely. Hotel restaurant and bar were ok- Breakfast menu was better than the dinner menu. The hotel is conveniently in walking distance of several shops and restaurants. The room was dated and the room spelled like mildew - carpet needed to be replaced. Beds and balcony were nice. Beautiful views and trails throughout the property. Lots of interesting history around the hotel grounds.

Property is not well maintained and I have seen a bunch of dirty spots on the bedding. There are water and stains on the floor and elevators. Basically it is not in a good condition. Seems like <3 category. What makes me feel even more uncomfortable is that they don’t really help. I have to drink water in the early morning due to personal reasons. I came back late like 10pm on that day and every store was closed. I asked front desk if I can get some water but they don’t have bottle of waters even if I can pay for it. I paid 900 dollars a night and 40 dollars for resort fee. I don’t think it is worth it. Really bad experience. I complained to Marriot online and someone reached out to me via email. But the email just said the complain was forwarded to the management and nothing else they can do. No one from this hotel has reached out to me after that. And the situation was not improved at all in the following stays.

The white headboard had a ugly blue marker stain. Went downstairs to let them know it was not pleasant sight and they said they would fox that. Never did anything to Remove the stain when checked out they said they would fix it once we checked out. Rented 2 rooms stayed 3 nights. Was not necessarily cheap either, after a long day exploring the island it was a ugly sight to come too.

When I walked in my room, just cleaned, it smelled like dirty dishwater on the bathroom floor (cleaner odor plus dirty water odor). Awful. I wiped the floor with a hand towel hoping to remove the smell, but the cleaning person never removed that towel from the bathroom, though I indicated it was no longer usable. The other thing, was the drum beat of incessant marketing of one kind or other. Phone messages, flyers under the door. What a drag!

We had a great stay. The rooms a tiny, beds are nice, pillows are in need of replacement. The rooms are quiet, but the hotel needs some love and mostly new carpet or a good cleaning. The food was good for breakfast. The pool was great and we could typically find a Lounge chair to chill. Walk out to the beach and you will see turtles, that’s amazing. The lava lava beach club was so great and close to the property. We ate there every night and the place is so much fun with great food.

The hotel was very nice. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Parking is easy. We had an ocean view room and the bathroom was larger than normal and the bed faced the ocean….lovely! The fitness center and the spa were both fantastic. The pools and the grounds were well done, and the beach is a short walk through the ponds. Overall very nice property.

Luau was wonderful. The room balcony opened onto concrete rooftop. This was unexpected & should have been explained upon checking in. I did not like that in such a lovely hotel. The swimming pool area was magnificent.

What we liked- bed was great, room was updated and spacious. Couch was very comfortable. We liked being on the top (6th) floor. The reusable water bottles and filling stations were helpful. What we did not like: We paid for an ocean view room (not partial view) and though we were facing the ocean directly, we were back quite far in the building and could not see a northern or southern view of the ocean and instead saw many other guest rooms. Also, it was a fight to get lounge chairs by the pool. Other guests claimed chairs very early in the morning with towels and beach bags. If one did not get there early, it was impossible to get a chair. The resort fee at $40 per night was excessive, especially with the chair situation.

Not enough pool chairs with shade options. Great pool diversity though. Overall a great time but definitely doesn’t inspire “have to come back” feelings.

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa was such a great experience. The staff are a big part of what made this stay so memorable. Bryan our waiter at the resort restaurant was beyond friendly, patient and gave us 5 star recommendations on places to see, experience and places to eat on the Island. Our room was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The pool was also another amazing experience and close by beach access!! We got suckered into sitting on a time share presentation in order to get free luau tickets, and as much as they tried to pressure us to buy a timeshare, we said nope and got our free tickets to the luau which was spectacular and such a joy to experience. I hope we get the chance to stay again soon!!

We loved our stay but there is obviously newer and older parts of the hotel and we were in the older part which wasn’t too bad as the room was updated but didn’t have a microwave (they charge $10 a day for rental of one) and everything costs a lot of money, from parking to food, to activities (like a luaus at the hotel would have cost us $400 on top of what we paid to stay here and the “resort fees “ we saw at the end of our stay during checkout. The only other thing is that the service at the restaurant is extremely slow, even if you’re one of two people there and there’s no shuttle to the airport, which has caused us to spend a bit of money on Ubers and a rental. The resort was beautiful, people were friendly and for the most part everything was great. One complaint is they are doing renovations and the machinery was very loud all day every day we were here (tile work, jackhammers, etc). It took away from the relaxing atmosphere of Hawaii. The last day we were here we requested a late checkout as our flight did not leave until 9:30 PM that night. We were given a 1 PM late checkout with option to pay 1/2 day room rate ~$150 with the caveat we might have to move rooms for that last day. When we came back to the front desk to confirm and pay that, another employee Elizabeth told us that our room had been booked for the next day and that whoever told us that was new (which she later took back) and they “didn’t do that” ie allow guests to move to another room for the final half day…basically too bad, we were going to have to sit around for six hours. The employee who had told us it was okay was luckily still at the desk and we were told we can try to ask her, good luck. After nine days there, you would think they would do their best to accommodate us. We did speak to the very nice employee Kiani who took care of us with a smile but it did leave a bad impression that Elizabeth wouldn’t just accommodate her guests. We were paying for it after all. Some people will do everything they can to help others and some people will do everything they can not to. In summary, it was a wonderful stay, just a few minor issues. Pools were amazing.

We were notified of a water leak effecting our room and others. We were moved to the neighboring Hilton. The stay there was excellent. Bothe staffs were very helpful, generous and accommodating for this emergency relocation. We still attended the Luau at the Marriott which was superb. A big thanks to Gabriel for working with me and taking care of us.

While our dinner at the main restaurant was a big negative, breakfast, service, and the room and location were all great. Management transferred us rooms from two doubles to a king room, with no hesitation Service throughout was second to none. Location, beach, pool and grounds were all special to our family with a five year old. We would definitely stay again.

Property is nice but worn. Needs an update . Only one restaurant and $$$. Walk across the steeet to the shopping center ( strip mall) and find more choices . A super nice Grocery store down the street ( short walk) for snacks , drinks and even a meal on the go

Expedia does a HORRIBLE job communicating with the hotel. None of your notes that are requested upon booking is transferred to the hotel. I had to request a room change TWICE. Final room was great. The drinks and spa were mediocre. However, the massage technician was very friendly and knowledgeable. The location is great and very convenient.

i did not like the fact that all the restaurant close at 9pm and there is no room service to purchase food. so thats very disappointing , if you dont eat by 9pm then you will starve at this location.

The property is beautiful!! The staff was friendly and welcoming!! The food at Hawaii Calls was not tasty... the cafe was okay, serving staff not so friendly or willing accommodate requests. Had to leave the resort for meals was kind of disappointing. All in all hoping to return. Mahalo!!

Old elevators. One was on/off broken. Extremely expensive for unknown reasons. Fries are $16! The property outdoor is nice but the beach turned out to not belong to Marriott anymore. Which wasn’t mentioned on their website. It’s a 3rd party and rental for a covered chair is $75 for 4 hours. Overall, I think it’s a nice hotel but it’s way overrated and way too expensive for what it’s offering thinking of taxes this and taxes and taxes on resort fee and it’s insane. I’m ok paying for all these taxes, but I think we shouldn’t be charged so expensively for food.

Very good well kept hotel. The main pool is glorious, if you go at 7AM to have it all to yourself :). Very quiet property, far from traffic noises, even the AC is whisper silent. Landscapers use electric EGO tools in the morning, finnaly! Convenient shops and ABC Grocery store in walking distance. Rooms are a bit small, but well kept. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Very dry sunny weather location. Overall a very relaxing stay. It is familly friendly/popular, like most of Hawaii... The only negs would be the actual beach, which suffers from being very rocky in shallow water - you'll have to drive 15 mins to Hapuna if you want a good beach experience, and the somewhat iffy dining choises. The restaurant is very good for breakfast (try the Rancher omelet) but dinner options are expensive, and the restaurants arround it were uninspiring. Very good well kept hotel. The main pool is glorious, if you go at 7AM to have it all to yourself :). Very quiet property, far from traffic noises, even the AC is whisper silent. Landscapers use electric EGO tools in the morning, finnaly! Convenient shops and ABC Grocery store in walking distance. Rooms are a bit small, but well kept. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Very dry sunny weather location. Overall a very relaxing stay. It is familly friendly/popular, like most of Hawaii... The only negs would be the actual beach, which suffers from being very rocky in shallow water - you'll have to drive 15 mins to Hapuna if you want a good beach experience, and the somewhat iffy dining choises. The restaurant is very good for breakfast (try the Rancher omelet) but dinner options are expensive, and the restaurants arround it were uninspiring. I really enjoyed my stay here.. met all my expectations. Wasn't until the last couple days I ordered food to back to my room at the food truck by the pool and was left highly disappointed... if I ate near the pool and not packaged to go the food portions were appropriate.. otherwise i felt completely ripped off. Don't want to punish the resort for a couple few bad actors that seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Ordered food on 6/2 @ 11:30am.

Upon check-in I learned that booking through Expedia cancels any benefits of a Bonvoy member (breakfasts, upgrades, etc). The hotel was not very helpful and dismissed the issue, Expedia support was worthless and never responded. I would never use Expedia again for a Marriott, or other major brand, hotel reservation if you have earned status. The fitness center is very basic, and doesn't appear to have been update since our last stay, years ago. The food options are very limited, and expensive . The pool bar is also very basic, using machine dispensers for blended drinks and no good options for kids. They had beach cruisers, complimentary. which are fun and the concierge was very helpful.
