Check in was fast. Clean. Kitchen adequately stocked. Loved the pool area and grills. Glad they recycle. We were group of 6 but set up was for 4. Did it care for sleeping arrangements ( twin with trundle, mahogany furniture bed conversion cumbersome, albeit comfy mattress.

Our stay here was good and served the needs of our family. Our unit was a bit outdated. I wish the pool was a warm and that they had a jacuzzi. Overall it was okay.

The Banyan Harbor has 51 townhouse style units that might be a little dated but the unit was well appointed and had most everything we needed. The buuilding we were in had many steps and made for a good work out but you can ask for a walk in style unit if they are available. The view of the harbor had one obstruction but otherwise had a nice view of the bay. It was easy walking distance to the beach and multiple restaurants. All the amenities worked well including washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc. The A/C worked well on both levels and the rooms were inviting and beds comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone that isnt into large resort style complexes and would prefer to cook their own meals or go out if they wish. Lastly, there was a salt water pool with BBQ station, shuffle board and pickleball court.

Our condo was decent. It was quite large. We did love the pool and the convenient location. The beds however were unbearably hard. I could barely sleep i was tossing and turning all night. I woke up on our last night with bruised hips even. The condo had excellent air conditioning. The washer and dryer were great to have too! I would stay there again if they updated the beds. The parking was terrible. We could never find a spot near our condo. The staff was nice for the little we spoke to them. For the price we paid, I was happy!

I like the full kitchen set-up. We were able to save tons of money for cooking our own meal. The pool was nice and the fact that it opens until 9pm is a plus. However, there were things that I DO NOT LIKE in the unit that we stayed in. -Cleanliness was below average. The couch/sofa set was so dirty that the covers needs to be changed. God only knows how long they’ve been sitting there because of the sofa covers’ color. -I could tell that the carpet needs some shampooing and steaming too. We were really hesitant not wearing our slippers inside the unit because of this reason -Ceiling fans needs to be cleaned. There was a “thick line” of dust on the edges of the fan. We didn’t use our fans due to this reason. The AC needs some cleaning too. When I turned on the AC, dust blew straight through my face. The AC lines/pipes (or whatever you call it) needs to be flushed too as the water dripping from the AC was ridiculous. -TVs and the cable boxes were dusty -Shower head was molded -Cooking utensil was not washed. Soon as we checked in to our unit, and I was checking the utensils inside the drawers, I saw a dirty utensil used and not being washed. Overall, the property was good aside from the things that I mentioned above. The housekeepers must just be in a rush cleaning our unit as we were trying to check-in already. However, cleanliness should be a priority especially that this type of business caters mostly to the families(with infants and toddlers in tow).

Room was dumpy and heavily used. Carpet was terribly stained throughout. Hair on the sheets of the master bed so my wife and daughter slept on towels. No reception after 8. Security fellow was friendly but no option to discuss 2nd floor location with 85 yr old party member. No way this is a 4-4.2 Star location. More like a 2 Star out of 5 based on cost and ability to sleep 4-6. Looks fine on the outside but kind of gross and run down on the inside. Thankfully this was a land and sleep overnight only. I wouldn’t recommend

The floors were not clean when we first arrived and there are roches, the AC in the master bedroom shoots air that smells like mold and the sofa bed is very uncomfortable. We had to buy our own trash liners so we didnt have to be asking for 1 everyday.

Disappointing , things were not clean, sliding door didn't have a lock. Shower was all rusty and felt very grimy. Also the master bedroom siding closet door track was all rusty, door was hard to open and close. No space to hang clothes because there is a vacuum and a shower stall chair in the closet. And a large chair blocking the other sliding closet door. Soap dispenser in the dishwasher did not work properly, so no soap was released. I asked to change rooms and was told that they were sold out, I was not surprised as it was Valentine's Week. They did however come to our room and clean all the handprints and gunk from all interior doors and cleaned the kitchen again. There was still left over coffee and a dirty dispenser from the previous renters! Kitchen cabinets were sticky. Also I pulled out dirty flatware, dishes and bowls from the cupboard. I'm guessing because the dishwasher was not working properly. It just felt dirty and I conveyed that to the head of housekeeping, she was very very sweet and helpful. I should mention this is a one level unit with no stairs inside or out. They consider this a handicapped room but IMO no room for a wheel chair. Doors are standard size including the front and bathroom doors.

This place greatly exceeded our expectations. The condo was much bigger than I imagined. Downstairs was the living room/kitchin/dining room and half bath. Upstairs were 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom with a new whirlpool tub/shower. The place was thoughtfully designed so that even though it was pouring rain all night long, we had all windows open with a wonderful breeze going through the whole place with not a drop of rain even coming close to the windows or patio door. There was a washer/dryer in the full bath as well. In the 1/2 bath we also found 2 beach chairs and a beach umbrella. The kitchin was very nice with everything one could need in it. The furniture was dated and moderately comfortable, but perfectly adequte. But the kitching and bathrooms were modern.

The condo was very nicely decorated and everything looked new.. However there were very steep stairs inside and outside of condo. Carrying all of our luggage up and down those stairs was definitely challenging. Don’t stay here if you have elderly members in your party. Water pressure in shower was weak. We were also charged a resort fee which we didn’t know anything about. This was very upsetting.

Great location to do sightseeing around the island. Pool area and grills were well maintained. The air conditioning was very noisy and on a 6 hour timer. We had one air conditioner that leaked onto the balcony making a large puddle.

Banyan is an average property in this area of Kauai. It's close to some nice amenities, and parking is good; but it has two big things going against it: 1. Window air conditioning. Big strike against a place labelling itself as a "resort" in Hawaii - not sure if you're aware, but it's hot in Hawaii, and window units are loud and inconsistent in their cooling ability. 2. Window air conditioning units are on a timer, so you have to set the timer before you go to bed, then wake up hot to reset it. Not sure if that was just my unit. To get a higher score the Banyan would need to advertise central air, or drop the resort label. At minimum, having an ability to easily keep things cool all night and then turn off AC when guests leave would help. The fact that a resort fee is charged on top - something that in my view should be generally illegal as it is just a cash grab by hotels and an opportunity to cheat Expedia and the customer - makes this a bit more egregious.

This was our first time staying at Banyan Harbor Resort, and we will absolutely be coming back again! The price was perfect, the beach was just a short walk away, and restaurants were conveniently close. Check-in and check-out were super friendly, and the rooms were very large and comfortable. Everything about our stay was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this resort to everyone looking for a great stay in the area!

The service was terrible. Girl at the lobby seemed like she hated her job. Lobby closes at a certain time so if you need something after hours (like we did) you’re out of luck. It looks NOTHING like the pictures. Very disappointed

Everyone there was nice. I did have trouble contacting security when we arrived after check in time,(flight was late). The phone you were to use did not work on the outside of the office. Had me a bit worried. 10 minutes of waiting he showed up and checked us in and pointed us to the right building.

The staff were very friendly, and the room we were in was big enough for my whole family. Located conveniently close to the airport, but also between the attractions we wanted to see. We were able to leave our luggage before check in and after check out. Wish we took advantage of the full kitchen, good to know it's the for the next time. Highly recommend!

Very clean. Staff in lobby and housekeeping was very responsive in person. Had problem connecting with Internet service and left phone message with front desk that wasn't returned during our 3 night stay. Master bedroom TV was not connected to cable.

The location was very convenient. We got into Lihue in the evening, so being so close to the airport was really great. We also had to head to Kekaha on the west side of the island, so there was also easy access to the main road going in the opposite direction. The sunrise from our room was outstanding. Rooms were spacious. The only thing that was a little out of sorts was having to reset the knob timer every six hours to keep the A/C on, as it was set to turn off in the middle of the night if we didn't set it accordingly.

Our room in building D was the closest to the road that you could get. The large trucks coming down the hill using their jake brakes was awful. Extreme car and truck noise all night long. Impossible to sleep with all the road noise. There was a bee hive on our lanai so we had bees in our room. Pool area/bbq was nice for dinner. Location was walking distance to the beach and restaurants which was good.

A great location overlooking Nawiliwili Bay and just across the road from the beach and park. Lots of great food nearby within a short walk. Shopping (supermarkets, Costco, etc.) just five minutes away. Even though it's near the airport, this is the approach end, so except for the helicopters, it's not a noise factor. The view from the rooms range from spectacular to not-so-much. If that is a factor, it is probably best to book directly through the resort so you don't get stuck looking at foliage or other buildings. Many but not all units have a carport. There is a full, well-equipped kitchen, but if you need any supplies or ingredients beyond paper towels, detergent, salt and pepper, you'll need to stock up on your own. Unlike rental condos, nothing remains from previous visits. Cooling is provided by several room air conditioners. This is helpful if different members of your party have different temperature preferences. They worked quite well and proved to be a better option (though a bit noisier) than central air. Our unit (and I think most) was a two-story townhouse configuration with the kitchen, dining area, living room and half bath on the first floor, with the bedrooms and full bath on the second. If mobility is an issue for anyone in in your party, this is probably not the best choice in Lihue.

Convenient location near to the airport and in a good area with shops, restaurants etc. Very friendly front desk and convenient parking. Resort is essentially apartment blocks of various vintages so it will depend on what you get. There may be some stairs to climb if you’re in a higher up apartment. Rooms are a little dated but they were fine for our very short stay on our way home from Kauai. The apartment was generally clean but the floor could probably do with being mopped more regularly. Amenities within the apartment were very acceptable and suitable for our short stay. Would we come back here? Absolutely - if we needed a place before or after a stay at a resort i.e. on arrival or before leaving Kauai as it is literally 5 mins from the Lihue Airport.

Nice area, close to the harbor. We got a second floor two-bedroom property with excellent views of the harbor area and cruise ships. Easy access to the airport and shopping around is a plus. We enjoyed our stay here.

I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The area is very safe and there are shopping areas and food options in a walkable distance. The beach is only a three minute walk. So overall, it was a great experience!

The condo was a great crash pad for us. The kitchen and the washer and dryer were convenient and we used them to save money on meals and to wash all our clothes mid-vacation. I would have liked to have had a bathtub to soothe my aching muscles in. The TVs were nearly impossible to use. Instructions on how to watch local tv channels on would have been great.

This was our first time staying at Banyan Harbor Resort, and we will absolutely be coming back again! The price was perfect, the beach was just a short walk away, and restaurants were conveniently close. Check-in and check-out were super friendly, and the rooms were very large and comfortable. Everything about our stay was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this resort to everyone looking for a great stay in the area!

Central location on the island to explore both north and south sides. Neighborhood itself doesnt have much amenities as it is industrial area and next to airport. The condo was very large and super clean. All equipment working and fully furnished. Convenient place to stay if you are out exploring the island and not looking for a resort vibe.

Walkable to several restaurants and the amazing Kalapaki Beach. Uber/taxi friendly place so no need for rental car. The ABC is walkable for groceries but very limited. NOTE: schedule early a taxi for early morning flights from LIH as early Uber is very limited.

The room itself (2 bedroom suite) was lovely. Lots of room, full kitchen, everything you’d need for a multiple night stay for a family of 3-4. A lot of space! A/C was a bit loud when it was on but very nice to have laundry in the unit. Has cable tv which is a rarity nowadays. Rooms were clean… maybe a little outdated. Only real criticism is the amenities. This place sells itself as a “resort” but the pool was filthy (gnats everywhere), the tennis and pickleball courts were laughable and it seemed like the office would try to keep those things closed rather than let guests use them. Pool was closed the first day we were there for absolutely no reason. We stayed two nights because our flight off the island was cancelled due to a tropical storm. It was heavily discounted but I think it should normally be priced as a hotel room, not a resort, cause it doesn’t have a resort sort of experience. I know everything in Hawaii is more expensive but this should be a $200-250 a night place at max. If you’re paying more than that, you’ll be disappointed.

Banyan Harbour Resort was a good fit for our family of five. The condo isn’t particularly spacious, modern or updated, but it has a charming, authentic feel. It feels more like staying in someone’s home than in a hotel, which makes it cozy and welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed for our stay. We spent most of our days exploring the island rather than at the resort, so for us it offered very good value for the price. Our three teenagers especially enjoyed the elevated pool, which has a beautiful view of the harbour. There are also tennis and pickleball courts and a BBQ area. The location worked very well for exploring the south side of Kauai. Poipu is only about a 20–25 minute drive away, which we found very reasonable. Staying here was much more affordable than staying directly in Poipu while still giving us easy access to the area.
