What I liked most about my stay was the customer service. It was excellent. The hotel overall wasn’t what I expected. It was too dark and old fashioned. The pool was small and closed when I tried to go in, at noon. The equipment in the gym was out dated. Overall the hotel was out dated. I don’t understand why the price to stay at the hotel is so high. There is nothing special about it in my opinion. I would not stay there again.

My overall stay at the Garden City Hotel was a pleasure. The staff was very professional, ciurteous and accomodating. The Red Salt Room restaurant has one of the best brunches on Long Island, the crab cakes are a must try, The Red Hot spa is so serene and the staff is well experienced and provide exceptional services, the 50 minute signature massage and hydrofacial is a must try, the pool and work out area was clean and spacious with state of the art work out equipment, the grounds of the hotel is great for a photo shoot also if your hosting an event the ambiance is nice. I would reccomend this hotel. Thank you to all the staff members who provided exceptional service, Thank you Brandi the front desk concierge, the floor manager Keron, the attendant at Crave restaurant, Francis for taking the time to point out all of the features of the room, thank you to the engineer who replaced the light bulb in the room, also the front dest attendant that checked me in she was very pleasant, and thank you to the security staff.

Rushed review: The hotel is clean, quiet, has gorgeous decor, with friendly and helpful staff. Jocelyn and xxxx were amazing! There's a gym, spa and a heated pool too which I'm yet to go in, but the layout is lovely with easy access throughout. The only downside was that there was maintenance happening in the room next door, so there was occasional drilling but it was brief and bearable.

Great staff. Hotel is clean and efficient. They are always busy on the weekend when I have stayed there. The gym is too small, especially when the equipment is broken. And spaces are not available because they are reserved for private functions but guests are not notified adequately

The parking area was extremely safe. The hotel was very quiet, clean and one of the most beautiful hotel I ever stayed. Ryan at the feint desk was very friendly and pleasant, my check in and out process was a breeze.

Always a wonderful stay - the Garden City is my go to hotel when I am traveling to work at JFK. This time around service was impeccable and the hotel was as always clean and inviting. One of the two elevators was out of service so that was annoying and meant wait times were long especially in the morning. The rooms could use some updating but are none the less comfortable and very clean. The bar/restaurant was as always busy but I found a spot at the bar quickly and the food was great. Bar keep knew how to pour a four finger bourbon too! Great stay

We have stayed several times at this hotel. The room we were was nice however the bathroom was an ADA equipped bathroom which we didn’t need but that wasn’t the issue. The shower tiles needed a little scrubbing they were pretty dirty. Other than that no complaints. Staff was great as usual.

Good stay, housekeeping was lacking however. Room was not thoroughly cleaned. Some towels were replaced, while others were left behind. Garbage and used cups were left in room. My room was close to the elevator and for both nights people made the area near the elevator a lounge so it was very noisy. Had to call to complain

not noticing the dirty sheets the minute, we got to our room " they were horrendous they then gave us a new room which was horrible , bathroom door wouldn't close and the room was half the size of our original room they did nothing to try and make right our experience becuase " I booked thru expedia " Been celebrating our wedding anniversary going there for past 5 years now so dissapointed in the garden city hotel NEVER go there again

The rooms have been remodelled since we stayed There previously. The bathroom is clean but small and very little space to place items. While the accommodations are good it seemed a bit sparse. No pencil, paper or extra soap. Only 2 towels per set and when we needed more, the maids were reluctant to hand them out. There was only one elevator in service the entire 5 nights we were there. Restaurants were excellent but limited wine menu. When the door opens into the bathroom, the doorknob lock button hits the rubber wall bumper causing it to be pushed into a locked position. When the door then closes , it locks whether or not your in the bathroom. This is dangerous especially if there is a child or if the person in the bathroom needs assistance. The newly painted door to the room stuck and was difficult to open (even after we reported it). Window drapes should overlap.

The rooms and decor were beautiful and spotless! However, I was on the 8th floor and it was so noisy! Other guests on the 8th floor were out in the hallways being so loud and running around both during the day and night. For the price of the rooms I guess I was expecting a quiet, more well-mannered clientele. As beautiful as this hotel is, it was very expensive and I’m not sure I’d stay there again due to the behavior that’s allowed there

Everything about this hotel was top tier the front desk Anthony was amazing trying to sort us out (tiny disappointment was we didn’t get our room until just after 5pm) but it did work out in the end. The rooms are so clean and very spacious

Staff is attentive and friendly. They make everyone feel important. We left a charging cord in the room and when the bell hop went to retrieve our luggage he spotted it and brought it down. Attention to detail made our stay seamless!

Staff was super sweet and accommodating and very clean. Vincent "Don chente" was top notch dinning experience. First time staying at this hotel and will definitely be back. Thanks to Expedia was able to get a great deal on it as well.

Always a wonderful stay - the Garden City is my go to hotel when I am traveling to work at JFK. This time around service was impeccable and the hotel was as always clean and inviting. One of the two elevators was out of service so that was annoying and meant wait times were long especially in the morning. The rooms could use some updating but are none the less comfortable and very clean. The bar/restaurant was as always busy but I found a spot at the bar quickly and the food was great. Bar keep knew how to pour a four finger bourbon too! Great stay

Beautiful hotel, however, we were ignore at the valet to park our car. I had to ask the gentleman to assist. We pulled up right infront of valet a still completely ignore. Check in was gentleman was not friendly at all. Very dry serious.

Breakfast is grab & go situation.. there is no breakfast per se, but decent options. Yogurt, fruit muffins coffee. Hotel is classical and beautiful, staff members are top shelf and the room is spacious, clean quiet and comfortable. Location makes it special & walkable.

As a first time LIRR user, this hotel was perfect for my commute to and from. I felt safe even after getting back from my concert late at night, it’s quiet, and the staff is very friendly.

Arrived late due to a cancelled flight at JFK. Front desk staff has us checked in quickly with toiletries since our luggage was held by the airline. Hotel is within walking distance of a cute "downtown" area with shops and restaurants. Room was clean and well-appointed. Certainly will return.

Really lovely hotel… the Sunday Brunch was one of the most amazing I have ever seen. We only had one unpleasant incident on Sunday evening at the hotel restaurant. Our waiter abandoned us and we had to ask for our dinner after an hour. We never saw the waiter again. Very odd. Other than that everything else was wonderful.

Property is beautiful and in a great location. Walkable to train station and downtown restaurants and shopping. Staff went over and above to make sure our stay was enjoyable. That said…. We had dinner at The King Bar. Again the staff made the evening, as the food was average at best.

Great hotel albeit a little outdated. Food great, but Sunday brunch a little pricey for the selection. Wait staff was not attentive. Be careful when paying as they already automatically add 18% tip. The $30 added resort fee also seems a bit over the top!

We arrived late for a quick overnight before heading out to the rest of our journey. Didn’t get a chance to use any of the facilities and the restaurants were closed at the hotel and locally in town. Was very appreciative of the staff allowing us to get something from their small grab ‘n go counter. The food offered there was actually quite excellent. The thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was that even though I prepaid online ahead for my room, I still got hit $43 for their daily “facility fee” at checkout. It’s supposed to cover parking (which we didn’t have a car), wi-fi in the lobby and in your room, access to the fitness center and pool. In other words….things other hotels would toss into your room rate. I didn’t use any of these things on our quick trip. Glad we were only there the one night because that extra fee is PER DAY. This is a high end expensive hotel!
