Clean and simple hotel, polite staff and a good, functioning bathroom. However, there are two serious problems: (a) there is no air conditioning and the room is hot and stuffy. I asked reception and they said they have removed air conditioning or cold air, and only send heated air! The room overlooks the busiest and noisiest junction in Piacenza, outside the main bus terminal. 24/7 there is extreme traffic noise and opening the window to get air in the room makes it impossible to sleep. Nothing reception would do about the air. Two nights with very little sleep. (b) above the bed in the ceiling they have installed a bright green LED light that I guess is an emergency light. It's not possible to turn off and at night is very bright. There is also a large flashing red lamp high on the wall at the foot of the bed, which looks like it is connected to the smoke detector. It flashes constantly all night. Apparently both are supposed to be on. Madness!! So despite the standard of the hotel in general, there is no point in staying at a hotel were a good night's sleep no possible.
