Laguna Hotel

Swimming pool and games room was great. Room size was a bit small and shower had not much force but given the price and location it was excellent value for money. Staff was friendly and helpful, will happily stay again

The hotel is a bit in need of an update in areas. Feels a bit dated e.g. bathroom, pool has signs of wear and tear, broken bits around spa pool and limescale, but all works. Kids loved it anyway and probably good for the money. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, super friendly staff, lovely swimming pool. Awesome breakfast served by fantastic waitresses who were lovely. Good sized room and excellent shower, floor a little creaky and bed slightly hard but to be expected in a property of this age. No evening meals unfortunately but plenty of local food options nearby. A little bit of noise in the morning from the coaches running their engines first thing, not excessive. Overall very happy with our stay at Laguna, nice old fashioned style hotel with plenty of character and good value

No more place on the parking when we arrived. We have to park on the lawn

It was adequate. Could hear everything through the walls and ceiling. Has a nice pool and bar.

Great budget hotel. Very clean with friendly atmosphere. Shame bar and restaurant wasn’t open but short walk to town. Really nice breakfast and service. Definitely stay again. For the price it was excellent.

We visited Laguna Hotel last weekend. The amenities were nice, however, the pool was always full with children. The pool was one of the reasons we chose this hotel amd we never got to use it.

Such a friendly staff . We had a lovely stay, comfortable with a nice breakfast. Pool was a hit.

I took thirteen of my staff here on a business trip, and three of my colleagues (female) found bed bugs crawling in their bed. One woke with bites on her arm. I politely told the manager in the morning as I don't believe in being rude. I was called a few days later with the response that pest control had been out and not found ANY bugs in the rooms whatsoever, and that was it. I was disappointed as I had actually shown him the photo of one of the bugs found in the bed. Not really the kind of service we'd expect even from a cheap hotel.

Mold in the bathroom other guests hair in bathroom toilet hardly works rusty fittings ancient shower pole. Lamps in room did not all work . tv did not work Swimming pool had rusty radiators and looks terrible

Clean and comfortable

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, in my life. It was so dirty I didn't want to be there at all, so just stayed out until 10pm both days I was there. There were dead wasps, thick dust and sweet wrappers everywhere and they were never cleaned. The floors were covered in dirt. There were public hairs in the bath and on the bathroom floor. When you stood inside the bath to shower it rocked and moves backward and forward and i’m a tiny size 10 lady). The bedding smelt like chip fat. The building is very old and not maintained and also has no sound proofing so the whole night you are woken by doors closing, people walking and talking and creaking noises. The stench of over used chip fat pumps around the building in the morning, waking you up at 7am feeling sick from it. Decor is from the 70’s, it’s old drab, dusty and smelling. Pool is disgusting and tiny, took one look and never even got in. Cleaners came, never replaced my towels, never made my beds and never washed my cups or replaced milk’s or tea’s. I usually stay in caravan parks or Travelodge, I’m really not a fussy person but this was like something from a horror movie. Steer well clear!

Very clean room . Quiet , good parking , night key.

The bathroom was not clean when I arrived. There was filth on the toilet seat, filth inside of the toilet door, filth on the taps, filth in the tub. The shower pressure is extremely slow. There was no bodywash.There was unflushed toilet paper in the toilet. The toilet did not flush anything properly. I told the staff member and they went to fix it when I went out. I came back and it was the same. After several flushes it still did not go down properly. There was dirt on the towels. I also found it awkward that the words laguna hotel was written on the towels with what looked like a permanent marker! This place is cheap and dirty and very outdated. I do not recommend this place at all. Do not waste your money.

Not our 1st stay here . Always spotlessly clean , quiet and with friendly staff. Would recommend

I stayed at the Laguna as it's my go to hotel when in Poole/Bournemouth. The hotel is clean but not the cleanest, staff are friendly happy and helpful. The hotel is located close to Bournemouth centre, an easy 10 minutes stroll through the pleasure gardens will get you to town centre bars restaurant, shops etc and the beach is just a few minutes further walking. Free parking at the hotel is a big plus and on cloudy or rainy days the hotels own indoor pool is a massive bonus if you have children especially, as far as I know there is no public pool in Bournemouth centre. Id recommend this hotel, it's clea enough has entertainment lots of the times with a bar, free parking and central to Poole and Bournemouth and the beaches are close by along with the Jurassic coast

It was impossible to connect to WiFi and very bad reception from our room .

The room was small and dated with an outlook on the main driveway into the hotel, so constant noise, people talking and the room above had noisy floorboards which woke us in the night. Staff at reception and at breakfast were excellent and the breakfast lacked fresh fruit and maybe a buffet would have been better.

The rooms in this hotel are very basic, but were pretty clean. Its in a very convenient location, took us around 15 mins to walk to the International centre & the parking was handy. There's no plug sockets by the beds, no hairdryer or fan in the hot weather. The shower was awful, only a small amount of water came out of the shower head, the rest came pouring out of the tap even with the knob pulled all the way up. I didnt find the beds or pillows very comfortable & there was lots of doors banging & outside noise in the morning as we were near the service area. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again.

Nice small room, but summer time without conditioner very very hot

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean but I found it to be very cold all throughout my stay. The bed is too hard and uncomfortable, like sleeping on concrete. I didn’t sleep much because I was cold and uncomfortable all night.

An old property with very poor sound proofing The guests above us were walking around constantly until 2am, causing loud creaking noises. We had to ask the night concierge to intervene. Noises/talking started again at about 5! A terrible nights sleep sadly One tiny handsoap only between 2 people? Pleasant staff but not somewhere to recommend..sorry

shower was ok but not enough power floor was a bit uneven and creaky as you walked over the floor board's but overall it was a good hotel a bit old fashioned but a nice stay

The property is a £10 taxi ride from the railway station. Lots of parking for cars although not enough when the hotel is full. The hotel is adjacent to a raised dual carriageway which is very noisy especially at night and the emergency services use their sirens frequently including throughout the night. The Laguna operates a bus fleet of 15 coaches which share the car park and are noisy from 7.00am.My room without AC meant windows had to be opened which made the traffic noise worse. The bedroom was adequate with a 17 inch tv stuck in a corner which couldn't be viewed lying on the bed. The beds were soft and uncomfortable leading to morning back ache. There is no excuse in 2025 for not having a decent firm mattress. The small bathroom was adequate and the shower hot but it certainly wasn't a power shower. The grounds were delightful and well maintained and with metal seats. There was a tiny games room with table tennis and a pool table. The swimming pool was one of the warmest i have used in over 50 years of travel. You do have to share it with children having lessons at certain times. The pool does not look like the picture on the website which i suspect is not new. The hotel offers a breakfast for £9.50 in a smart dining room. I didn't partake as i prefer to brunch. Breakfast in town however is at least 50% more expensive apart from wetherspoons. The hotel is 5 minutes from the lovely gardens which lead to a square with eateries and beach etc. I rate Laguna 2*plus. Tired.

Very tired and old hotel. Noise travels from rooms on all sides as well as above and below. Also from the corridor. The beds are noisy and uncomfortable. The linen was old and thread bare. Bathroom was not clean or in a fit state of repair. Carpets warn. Pool was again old and tired. Would not stay again.

We only stayed two night . The rooms for this Hotel are in a number of buildings, we were in main house, unfortunately the resident above us was very heavy footed into the early hours. Hotel a bit dated though very clean . Couldn’t fault staff all very helpful. Breakfast is a must , it was fresh and delicious. Bar reasonable prices piped music could do with updating playing 40/50 music while we were there. Area around a little hilly , location 15 min walk to town centre, 6 min walk to bus stop ( Poole /Bournmouth) . We would return

Great staff

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone by one simple and important fact about how dirty the toilet was very dirty, had to go shop and buy bleach to clean it before using or allowing my kids to use it, as I was cleaning the toilet there was food pieces ( looked like vomit ) it was just bad for a hotel standard. Staff was really welcoming and friendly loved that.

A nice stay, but although I’d booked breakfast, it wasn’t on their system! All sorted when I showed proof on my booking receipt…..no quibble, no fuss - excellent! 👍

I liked the fact that there was entertainment in the bar, this was very good. My room was very cold when I arrived so I asked the young lady on reception, who happened to be the duty manager for a portable heater. The duty manager arranged this for me and my stay was warm and friendly.

The staff ar this hotel are super friendly & welcoming. There is plenty of parking. Its within walking distance to the town centre. The facilities are ok, obviously its in need of some updating but sheets clean & beds comfortable. It relation to what i paid & to the time I stayed, it was value for money. Certainly less than other hotels close by.

Last minute stop over, having lived in Bournemouth for nearly 40 year's I knew of the hotel but never stayed! Upgrade was a nice touch, friendly helpful reception staff, lady with pink hair. Room was tired looking but comfortable enough and it was clean.It had what I needed. But unfortunately it was noisy, you could hear doors banging, TV's, I could someone snoring too. But the real noise started when a group of people got back to their room around midnight, they were a floor down, had to close all my windows on a muggy night. Unfortunately no fan in the room! And then the noises would quieten then start up this went on till gone 3.30am. Doors slamming, in and out! Local drug dealers? Who knows but I know the area well!! When you finally drift off all the doors start again for people going down to breakfast! Walls paper thin. Spoke to the manager when I left after having practically zero hours sleep. He said there had been other complaints, and one older lady got up to tell them to shut up! No staff around, an emergency number but what is classed as an emergency?! Surely better to have a staff member on a night shift to keep an eye and ear out to shut people like this down as it causes misery to people trying to get some rest. The manager didn't seem overly bothered! I won't use the hotel again or recommend it.

Good location for easy walk into town and beach area. Friendly staff, swimming pool was a nice addition for rainy days.

We stayed as a group of four in one room. While the hotel is affordable, there were a few issues that affected our comfort. The mattresses were not very comfortable, and there were no lightweight blankets available for the warmer weather. Our towels were not changed daily—just folded and placed together—which caused some confusion. I accidentally used my friend’s towel and noticed brown stains on it, which was very disappointing and concerning. Overall, the experience could have been better with more attention to cleanliness and guest comfort.

Older property yes, but good location and clean. Staff were friendly and decent parking . Parking on a first come basis but a faIr amount available.

I stayed one night at the Laguna Hotel, Bournemouth. The staff were very friendly and the hotel has a good location for taking advantage of walks in Bournemouth. There are pretty gardens to view on the wall into the town and beautiful beach. The hotel has an indoor pool that also looks good, but I did not use this pool and spa facilities. Breakfast was very good and most enjoyable.

It is very good value for money. Excellent breakfast. Alistair, the reception manager was extremely pleasant and helpful. The location was very convenient for the Triangle area. I would definitely stay at the Laguna Hotel again.

The hotel was absolutely great and a bargain. Good price accommodation and free parking. We went with friends who also had children and they loved it. They made good use of the games room playing pool and table tennis which was great fun for all the family. Staff were friendly and nice. Nice breakfast. The location was great and walking distance to town. Would definitely stay again.

Very helpful crew helped us rapidly when arriving late. The place is rather historic than state of the art, but never have I had so much value for my money and we 4 loved the full English breakfast (pay appart) served by a very friendly staff. Recommended if you want to overnight or weekend in Bournemouth to a fair price. We didn't try the pool though, it might have even raised my appreciation!

Hotel is tired, but clean and comfortable. Our room was very small and noisy as it faced the main road. I asked to change rooms, and this was no problem, we were moved to a much larger quiet family room.Rooms are Room only, breakfast is an extra £9, paid in advance. We tried it, its table service, no buffet. Service was slow, but they did have a large coach trip at that time. Dinner is available if pre booked at breakfast time, £20 for 3 courses.There was live entertainment each night and bar prices were reasonable. There is a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, (pool temperature), so suitable for children, with sun loungers just outside. Nice gardens and grounds around the hotel and free parking. Maid service was very good, but no shampoo/shower gel etc included. Very close to Bournemouth gardens and a pleasant 25/30 min walk through the gardens to the beach. All in all, clean and comfortable and good value. We would return.
