We booked this hotel to use the pool which was advertised in the photos, when we arrived it said the pool was closed and had been for sometime. Very tired and neglected. Builders walking through the lobby constantly. We went to use the squash court which was a builders yard. It’s a shame

The hotel was amazing the architecture and grounds are simply wonderful! Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom and the food and restaurant, bars and lobby were all great! Unfortunately the room was very hot and it was difficult to sleep and the pool was very disappointing! The pool area really needs a clean and upgrade there a lot of hair in the pool and the floors in the poolside changing rooms were very dirty! However overall we would still return to this hotel but just not use the pool!

Second time staying here and the lodges in the grounds are great for families, really spacious and comfortable. Pool area was much cleaner this time but the pool on our first day was freezing cold making it unpleasant to swim. It had warmed up by the second day though so this was quickly sorted. Weather was bad so didn’t do the woodland trail but it’s lovely and fun for the kids. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but used the bar which is cosy and a good range of drinks options.

What a superb hotel. Beautiful setting. Lots of room. Pool to ourselves. Fantastic breakfast. Had car troubles and the hotel went over and above to help out. Will stay again and recommend to all.

The old house is beautiful, but you can't walk round the grounds as it's a golf course. The pool is quite small and can only book 30 min slot per day which isn't really long enough. The gym is tiny. We stayed in a lodge outside the main house which was basic, but good value for money for a family of 4. Lots of good local pubs and an easy drive to Canterbury

This was quite the stay! Luxurious building that was classy and beautiful. It looked like a castle on the outside. Inside was spectacular with solid wood molding and gorgeous decor. Our room was huge! The beds were very comfortable and the decor was grand. The views were also spectacular. We didn’t utilize the restaurant but did enjoy a late night drink at the bar. My husband worked out in the gym and enjoyed a brand new rower. The area is remote and the WiFi was spotty but the stay was spectacular.

A three night stay in Lodge 9 was really brilliant! It was secluded in a lovely woodland area. The lodge was very spacious with very impressive en-suite and bathroom. The swift local bus service at the main gates allowed us to visit Canterbury and Folkestone without the hassle of parking. The facilities for tennis, table tennis, snooker and putting ensured we were kept busy. The only slight disappointment was the pool was quite small and shallow.

This hotel has the potential to be a really superb place but it needs considerable investment. A pity really. The room was generally clean and in good condition. The shower was blocked but staff sorted it out quickly. The toilet was a saniflo type ughhh noisy !! Wasn’t offered any tea or coffee at breakfast and we only figured out the location of the cooked foods after hearing another couple discussing it at a nearby table. We had to ask if tea was included at the end of the meal and it was finally provided. The chandelier in the breakfast room is absolutely filthy. It would transform the room if that was cleaned…not a difficult job. The paint on the window frames was peeling away. Just a shame as the hotel could be do much better. Reception staff were ok.

It could be cleaner. Equipment dated and kettle dirty. Restaurant average and my son ordered pancakes for breakfast, which were disappointing...Staff nice, but slow. I think Broomhouse hotel seen better days.

We stayed at Broome Park two summers ago. It was good. That memory did a lot of heavy lifting for this booking. It should not have bothered. This festive break lodge felt like somewhere maintenance had stopped visiting and housekeeping had stopped caring. The lodge was dirty and dusty. Someone else’s beard trimmings were still decorating the shower tiles. That was the opening act. Screws were hanging out of door handles. Furniture was chipped and scarred. Drill holes had been left behind, unfinished, like a half abandoned DIY experiment. The toilet roll holder was broken. Even the bathroom sign was stuck on wonky, which takes either indifference or quiet defiance. The lounge TV had no signal. The bedroom TV had no remote. Between them, they formed a touching tribute to things that almost work. Everything felt tired. Unloved. Actively ignored. The ESPA toiletries we remembered have gone. They have been replaced with cheap hand pumped bottles that whisper cost saving and shout don’t bother. This was not bad luck. It was a pattern. If this is the new standard, it would have been useful to say so upfront. Standards do not slip overnight. They slide when no one is watching. A festive break on the way to Paris. Instead, a masterclass in lowered expectations.

We stayed in one of the lodges which had a great layout and were great for our family however they are in need of an update and refurb. They were tired looking and needed to be cleaned better. There was damp in the bathrooms and the blind was broken. Lovely setting in the country and the main hotel was grand however the pool and changing rooms were in desperate need of updating. Great location to Canterbury and the coast.

We stayed for two nights, the stairs didn’t get hoovered, confetti from the wedding was visible. Bedroom carpet was stained, the dining chairs were covered in stains, breakfast was below average. Shame for the price we paid, we were expecting better.

This may have been 4 star once but it definitely isnt now. We stayed in a cabin and it was filthy. The floor clearly hasnt been mopped in ages. Dont remove your shoes in white socks!! The sofa had, goodness only knows what white stains on and nearly all of the sheets were marked. Human hair in one bed. The fridge also had a big mouldy smear of something in it and in the wardrobe has never even seen a hover. Anyway, pictures tell a thousand words. It didnt get any better at breakfast. The seats are in a disgusting state and i really wasnt happy about sitting on them. The two members of staff were clearly struggling to accommodate the handful of guests down for breakfast and most of the food was running out and not being replaced. Not good enough considering the extra cost. I stay in hotels all over the country every week and this is definitely one of the dirtiest ive stayed in. I would not go back. The staff were well mannered in general. Its a shame because the place is lovely and could be amazing, but it needs some money spending on it. Start with cleaners!

Wonderful room although surprised not to have aircon for this price point. Check out at 10am is noticeably different to other hotels like this and the breakfast only comes with a small tea plate which is annoying for a hotel with this potential at this price point

It was all ok - clean and spacious. We were lodge 10 which is very dark. In places it looks tired. The door shelf for milk etc in the fridge was broken and we had to ask for basic items like a cloth/sponge and tea towel to be there. The TVs were very basic and WiFi very slow.

Spectacular building, excellent welcome and check in. Friendly, helpful staff. Food fine. Bar needs more staff at busy times. Bedroom disappointing! Uncomfortable bed, tiny shower and so noisy! In need of total refurbishment. The standard of our room is the only thing that would stop us returning.

Our room was amazing very spacious lots of nice details of the period of the building. Very quiet. All the staff are very friendly made our stay even better. This is our second time here we was here in 2022. Most of the rooms since than have been renovated.

Reception staff v helpful. I booked a four poster room as this was all that was available. The building is rambling due to its age but bedroom was comfortable with great views.

Really lovely place to stay. The view from our bedroom was beautiful (well-manicured golf course) and our bathroom was brand new. Our room was clearly well sound-proofed as we didnt hear a thing when we were in our room (Kimberley). Service was kind and polite. There is no sauna anymore but there is a swimming pool. Decent breakfast. Only slight issue was we noticed an electric socket was a bit loose, other than that couldnt have faulted the stay.

This was our second stay with my family, I need to say I’m bit disappointed with service in the morning. The breakfast first day was overcooked, bacon and black pudding dry, service was slow I will say not existing. Next day we sit down waited 15min for someone to bring menus but nothing so we ask if we can order, we was told it’s buffet style today we can’t order from la carte as chef is busy with wedding prep, Why you didn’t tell me this when we sit down. We really like the hotel and wooden lodges are perfect but service need really improvement!

Pretty location not far from Folkestone. Staff where very nice but not terribly efficient. We enjoyed the food and the dining area is pleasant.

We stayed at the Broome Park Hotel for a couple of nights and enjoyed it very much. The staff at reception were very good but there seemed to be a lack of staff in the dining/bar area which meant that the bar was quite often unmanned for long periods of time. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms on the second floor, unless you are pretty fit ask for a room on the first floor as the stairs to the upper floor was very daunting as they were so steep. It was a lovely room with amazing views, there were a few things that needed finishing but it didn’t impact our stay a great deal.

We stayed in the garden view lodges, which are w bedroom cottages with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, washer and dryer. For a family of five, the lodge was a perfect place to stay at. The property was really clean, and everything worked perfectly. The staff were also very helpful and professional. We also enjoyed the optional english breakfast. The property is located in a wooded area about half way way between Dover and Canterbury. Beautiful grounds. There are no shops close by. You definitely need a car.

A three night stay in Lodge 9 was really brilliant! It was secluded in a lovely woodland area. The lodge was very spacious with very impressive en-suite and bathroom. The swift local bus service at the main gates allowed us to visit Canterbury and Folkestone without the hassle of parking. The facilities for tennis, table tennis, snooker and putting ensured we were kept busy. The only slight disappointment was the pool was quite small and shallow.

We had a lodge for one night ,it was clean and a good size for all of us .It was a little dated and the sofa bed was not the most comfortable. The receptionist in the main building was friendly and helpful ,cant fault him at all. Nice area ,nice place to stay for a short break. You need transport to get around as its not in walking distance of anywhere ,hence the peacefulness of the place .

We stayed in one of the lodges which had a great layout and were great for our family however they are in need of an update and refurb. They were tired looking and needed to be cleaned better. There was damp in the bathrooms and the blind was broken. Lovely setting in the country and the main hotel was grand however the pool and changing rooms were in desperate need of updating. Great location to Canterbury and the coast.

This was our second stay with my family, I need to say I’m bit disappointed with service in the morning. The breakfast first day was overcooked, bacon and black pudding dry, service was slow I will say not existing. Next day we sit down waited 15min for someone to bring menus but nothing so we ask if we can order, we was told it’s buffet style today we can’t order from la carte as chef is busy with wedding prep, Why you didn’t tell me this when we sit down. We really like the hotel and wooden lodges are perfect but service need really improvement!

Room was amazing - one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. Shame about the food - evening meal average at best and cold. Buffet English breakfast was stone cold and soggy - inedible. I’d recommend a stay but go out to eat and have a lie in instead of breakfast.

The hotel was tired and looked like it needed investment to bring it back to life…..the range of food offered was not enough and not good enough for the prices paid…we this is a perfect example of under investment in a superb location. We think great food gets noticed and word travels quickly …get the food right and funds will come to improve and upgrade ….an opportunity for someone with the money to invest….great food at a price people are prepared to pay.

The restaurant was terrible, waited two hours for the main course. Then we waited an hour for dessert, all four desserts were different from what was ordered. There was even a desert not available, so they just gave two large plates of ice cream to my 4-year-old daughter.

Beautiful stately home converted into a hotel. The room we had was in the East Wing with a large Georgian bay window and a four poster bed. We had lunch on arrival which was excellent. Unfortunately the breakfast was dismal. We expected a proper cooked breakfast but instead there was a buffet laid out which was very bland and cold. It left a of sour taste on our stay. Literally. Other than that the staff were excellent.

Beautiful place to stay, we attended a wedding and we decided to stay the night with family. Staff were always happy and attentive. Tegan on reception was lovely and helpful. Breakfast was lovely too. Room and amenities were fab and a nice comfy bed.

The pictures make it look nice, however reality was a different story. The lodge is very tired, smells, the bedsheets were smelling damp and just in a poor state. I would suggest that Hotels.com remove it from their listings

You are paying for the grounds and location to be honest. The nostalgia of the building and rooms is very classic. Grounds well kept. Swimming pool no very well maintained and needs a lot of work in my view. Staff are helpful and doing a great job. Friendly. Parking at the front of the hotel is hit and miss so be prepared to park in the golf course carpark.

The exterior of the building is beautiful and creates a great first impression. Our room was a very good size and initially looked lovely; however, we did encounter a few issues during our stay. The bathroom door would not close, and the privacy curtain in the bathroom was damaged, meaning it did not provide complete privacy. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was the advertised heated indoor swimming pool. Unfortunately, the pool was extremely cold and did not feel heated at all, which was very disappointing. We stayed one night and I have to say, the place is absolutely stunning. Our Junior Suite, in one of the separate buildings, was beautiful. The vaulted wooden beam ceiling, huge bathroom with both a shower and bath, plus a separate dressing area, made it one of the most impressive hotel rooms we've stayed in recently. We even spent the evening watching a red moon from our window, which was a lovely end to the day. Sadly, housekeeping really lets this hotel down. The bed was clean, but there was dust and cobwebs throughout the room. The radiator by the bath was covered in cobwebs, there was dust behind the door, and large cobwebs around the entrance where you insert your key. These are basic housekeeping jobs. The same issue continued around the hotel. The building is magnificent, especially the impressive entrance ceiling, but even the beautifully carved staircase figures were covered in cobwebs. It's such a shame because this is a stunning property being let down by poor attention to detail. Breakfast was excellent, but checkout was disappointing. We were greeted with a blunt "Yes?", handed over our key, and after confirming we'd already paid, were simply told, "You can go." No smile, no "Thank you," and no "Hope you enjoyed your stay." Overall, we'd definitely return because the hotel and room are beautiful. However, Broome Park really needs to improve its housekeeping and customer service. They're dropping the ball on the basics.
