Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Grand Forks, ND

We stayed at the Country Suites & Inn for the weekend. We chose this hotel specifically for the pool, as we have toddlers and the hotel has a kiddie pool. Upon arrival, we found a note on the entrance to the pool area, saying the pools were closed and would open by 5 pm. This is very annoying, as we took off work that day and used holidays so that we would arrive early enough for the kids to have time to swim. At 5 pm we again got the kids back into their swim suits and took them down to the pool. The pool was open. A few minutes after the kids began swimming, the general manager came over to inform us that the kiddie pool and hot tubs were still closed, but would be open later in the evening. We could see the health inspector in the pool area performing tests. We had to again explain to our 2 and 3 year old that they couldn’t go in the pool. We explained to the general manager that the kids would be shortly needing dinner and going to bed, and miss out on one of their 2 days swimming. We felt we should have been contacted earlier so that we could have changed our reservation to another hotel with a pool. The general manager seemed indifferent to our situation, and clearly didn’t care. We continued on as before, trying to entertain toddlers while not having brought any toys or games, believing we would be spending our time at the pool. The hotel clearly needs to improve on the heath and safety of their pool area. I have attached pictures in my Google review.

The hot tub was out of order. Other than that it is a clean facility. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and it was nice and cold when we entered the room.

The hotel, grounds, staff were nice and updated. Overall pool was the best part of the whole stay except one of the 2 hot-tubs were not working. We stayed on the 1st floor and the people above us were noisy making it a difficult night to sleep. Breakfast was ok, but not great.

Booked a night before finishing my trip home and definitely enjoyed our stay! Great Location, it was quite but still close to drive to shop. Pool and hot tubs were great and relaxing! Rooms were large and clean!

Premium pricing for mediocre facility. Hot tub under construction (we didn’t know previous to arrival) Stay as just ok - but should have been in the $50 range for charge.

It was a busy kids weekend. Soccer tournament. Pool was down on a busy kids weekend!!!! Not good.

Overall the room it self was ok, it was clean only thing is the bathroom door and ceiling is that the pant was falling off, could you a repaint to fix that. Now for the bad... So we booked this Stay for the pool, it was a let down they advertised having a kid play area, well that did not work and all the paint was all chipped which is not safe for kids especially if they market that on the online listing. And the pool room floor was falling apart some spots being head together with duck tape. The morning breakfast was very good, the dinning room and very clean, and looks like it was remodeled (they should do that to the pool area asap) the check out process was pretty straightforward other than the front desk person could not speak very good English which made it a little difficult. Probably would not book again until they fix up the place a little more

I was very impressed with this hotel. it was clean, great breakfast, and quite. The one thing i was unhappy with is the floor in the pool area. It is a very slippery tile and gets even worse when wet and the air movement in the pool area was nonexistent so thw floor wouldnt dry at all. There was still standing water in areas on the floor this morning where there was puddles last night when they shut it down for the night.

The room had not been cleaned well. There was a plastic cap on the floor in bathroom. The night stand drawer contained a lighter, dirty Pennie’s, alka seltzer etc. obviously not cleaned. There was a plastic bag over the smoke detector- either from previous guest or?

Property was in good condition, nice lobby, room had an acrylic nail on the floor, carpet was stained and it looked dirty, bathroom looked pretty plain

Room was clean. The fireplace was a nice extra. Employees helpful

Our bathroom had a lot of hair in it in various places. There were still white toothpaste, splatters on the faucet and tap of sink.

Was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the tub & shower. The garbage can still had garbage in it as well

Staff was nice. Wish there was extra blankets in the room, some places provide an extra one and this one doesn't. Otherwise the place was nice and clean.

My sheets had stains. So nasty Light in my room was burnt out. Doors crumbling on bottom. However staff was very friendly.

Fire alarm went off at 3:30am. Faulty system. Room smelled and was super humid even with the A/C running.

This property was convenient to the freeway. It was a little old and run down in places. We had poop in our toilet when we got into our room! We also had several bugs in our room. As well as hair in the bathroom. The breakfast was decent. The highlight was the hot tubs and pools! Friendliness of staff varied from disgruntled to nice. There was lots of noise out in the parking lot outside of our room that woke us up very early, even though we had asked to be in a quiet area.

Room was in terrible shape. Bathroom towels were old and torn/worn out

Good location and a nice accommodation. Breakfast is average and nothing special with limited items. Reception area is rather bland with a few couches and open area to the front desk and entry doors. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

We checked in about 10:30pm and our room was 60 degrees. We turned on the heat and it was blowing cold air for a long time. I went to the front desk and they told me to wait 30 minutes longer and let them know if it still doesn’t warm up. It didn’t get warm until 2:30am. Then by 5am it was 80 degrees. The thermostat didn’t work so we couldn’t regulate the heat. The carpet was dirty and the hall way smelled. There was garbage behind the bedside table.

Checkin was very quick and the room was clean. Our room was very warm even with the temperature set at 65.

Everything was good except the heat. The hallway was about 100 degrees and tried to control the temp in the room was impossible. Bed was comfortable, and it was clean.

Good beds, and clean. The Direct TV On demand was very glitchy

Great stay! The rooms were spacious and clean. My only complaint was they ran out of complimentary coffee by noon.

I’ve stayed here before… It’s a good hotel. I don’t mind it at all… if anything it was my fault because I asked for a 1st floor room which was too close to the breakfast area, which I found noisy in the morning otherwise this is a good hotel in Grand Forks North Dakota!

Older hotel in fair condition. Internet was up and down and very slow.

Oir room was small and tight. We were put into a handcap room and it had a lot of service we could not utilize. The water pressure was terrible. Our room had a window with a terrible view of another building about 20 feet away. Not a great for the money.

Carpet in the room was dirty. Rooms are loud.

The heater did not work in our room. When we got in there I went downstairs and the staff quickly looked at it and gave us a different room immediately. He apologized over and over for it and I said it’s no big deal. You wouldn’t go around every room and check the heaters to see if they quit working. I was very impressed with the speed of service to get us in another room.

Booked a room with them for the wrong date. Didn’t know of my mistake until I received an email asking how my check in went. Caught me off guard because I thought I booked for Thanksgiving, Nov 28. Turns out I hit the 21st. I contacted Hotels.com and wanted to switch days. They contacted the hotel where the property manager there absolutely refused to change the dates knowing I wasn’t going to be there. Also, refused any type of refund and allowed the booking to go through as if I was there. I understand that it was extremely last minute as I was unaware of the mistake however to not change the date of the booking or even offer some sort of a compromise or resolution, I find is very poor customer service. All I wanted was an easy date switch on my booking so I can come visit family for Thanksgiving. I have since booked elsewhere

Went to check in at 4:30 and they didn’t have a room that was ready. When we did check in I asked if we could have a late check out since we weren’t able to get into our room at the check in time. The clerk said are you serious and left it at that.

The staff were absolutely amazing! From the front desk to the gentleman manning the breakfast to the housekeeper in the room, they were all fantastic!

I have stayed at this location at least 30 times, traveling for doctor.Always fast friendly check in and clean rooms, great breakfast and granddaughter loves the pool area. This was the first time when we checked in that I was so upset! The guy was rude, didn't acknowledge we were evev there. He was on the phone ,made no motion to say sorry ill be right with you.. nothing then took another call and had the personality of a fence post!

I like the area and it’s very easy to get around to all the restaurants and shops. The hotel is quiet,it was in the middle of the week so it was not full. You can hear the traffic from the highway though,mostly the heavy truck traffic. The furniture could use a refresh. Bed was comfortable and they have a variety of pillows on the beds so you can find the one that works for you. I have stayed here numerous times. I look for the best deal when I come to Grand forks.

The complementary breakfast needs much improvement. On our 1st morning, there was a lack of food, coffee ran out, apple juice was like water, people had to ask for more bread, yogurt. On our 2nd morning, we arrived later to the breakfast, and there was no yogurt, few bread items. There was no fresh fruit on both mornings. If they don’t want to put out food, then they shouldn’t offer a complementary breakfast. Cleaning staff didn’t offer to provide clean towels or take our garbage after the 1st night stay. We had to ask. We had to ask for pool towels in the pool area. On both days, there wasn’t a supply of towels in the pool area. One hot tub wasn’t working. The pool area needs an upgrade.

Great value for the price. Staff was informative, friendly, and responsive. The property could use some renovations (Carpeting in the hallway needs replacing and the ceiling over the shower needs to be patched) but appeared to be clean and in order. While breakfast was hot and complimentary, all the food was extremely underwhelming. Eggs were bland and watery, potatoes were under cooked, and the breads were stale. Still if you are just looking for a good value and comfortable nights rest, I would recommend staying here.

The continental breakfast was average.

Breakfast is very Basic. The Marriott next door is cheaper and the breakfast is quite extensive and very good quality. Given the price I paid, I expected a better breakfast.

Nice hotel, furniture a bit dingy. Pool excellent! Super clean! No recycling not shocking for USA. Terrible awful breakfast old wrinkled oranges, powdered eggs, grey hash browns and a crude tip jar made with an old plastic container marked “TIPS”.

This property was probably very nice at some point, but it is very worn down and repairs don't look like they are being done properly. Check in staff was very nice and it was clean enough to get by, but probably would not stay here again. The breakfast was terrible and there were very limited items for purchase.
