The hotel was really nice but the shower was really small and valet parking was $200 for the two nights that I stayed there which is actually very pricey for me. However, considering the area, I imagine that is normal pricing.

Valet damaged my vehicle and would not admit fault. Then only comped me 1 free valet night - should have been all 3 nights. I can honestly say that because of the valet experience alone I will probably not stay here again and that is unfortunate because we really enjoyed the hotel itself.

This place has the best view and is right in the heart of where you want to be in Chicago. The staff were awesome. The room was plenty big and had everything we wanted in a room. The hallways were a little dirty, could have been vacuumed. Overall, the property was in good condition and the gym was nice too. I will stay here again. I have been to several places in Chicago to stay and this is my favorite so far!

Excellent location, friendly doorman, staff, walkable to the city Extra mandatory fee for "gym" even if you dont use it. $35/day Bedsheets were not changed even when room service was requested for this. Bath tub was clogged and so was the sink. Overall, it was okay to stay here.

This was a business trip and brought my husband with me. The people at the front desk in the ballets were very accommodating and friendly. My only complaint is that our bathroom smells like sewage, and no one from housekeeping bothered to note, but instead of put a towel by a leaking toilet.

First time visiting Chicago. The hotel is in a great spot with subway, public transportation and so much within walking distance. The room was amazingly comfortable and large with great views of the river and surrounding city. Complimentary Nespresso coffee maker and pods in the room with complementary bottled water was great. One of the best Hotel experiences of my life and we have stayed in our fare share of hotels. I would 100% stay here again.

Nice hotel in a fabulous location, just missing the extra finishing touches. I booked a river view room and it was spacious with amazing views. The room is not soundproof though, lots of sirens at all times of the day / night. The beds were comfortable. However, we did not get any robes or slippers as stated on the included amenities. The bathroom was basic with no shower caps, sanitary bags or other little extras you would normally get in a hotel of this standard. The soap was replaced every day when it didn't need to be, that was such a waste. I had a bleeding foot and got some blood on the bed sheets, the sheets were never changed. Drinks available in the lobby were ridiculously expensive, an orange juice and a water for $17

We had them inspect it twice and even though they came out two times the room during the day would go up in temperature to 78-79 degrees and at night would only go down to 74 degrees. The last night we had to request they provide a fan which a box fan was provided. They did not have a comparable or open room to switch into.

We stayed in the Columbia suite. Very nice and relatively private. Staff were professional and helpful. The view was spectacular! Sadly, the revving sports cars parked out front on Saturday and Sunday mornings was highly obnoxious, and clearly heard on the 25th floor.

Great hotel from all aspects. Very comfortable, quiet room. Wonderful, central location on the Riverwalk. All employees always had a smile on their faces and were very willing to help. Appreciated the help from doorman Lucus, who when out of his way each day to offer advice about the surrounding area, things to do and restaurants.

Requested to pay for the early check in when I booked the hotel. I called ahead prior to arrival to confirm early check in was selected, they confirmed I selected it. When I arrived to Chicago and was on the way to hotel I called to make sure early check in was still going to be okay the front desk representative stated early check in is first come first serve and she can’t guarantee it’ll be available when we arrive and anyways it’s an additional charge and I advised that I understood and I opted in when I booked for the additional charge early check in and ended the call. I arrived at 12pm at the hotel they reminded me again of the additional charge advised I understood and they stated they would add us to a wait list but would call us shortly when an room was available we waited in the lobby for about an hour/hour an half, they did offer to take our luggage so we could go do something if needed but made it sound like the room would be open shortly. After waiting the hour and half we decided to give our luggage and go kill some time. We realized while we were out that it was 4pm so decided we should head back since that’s regular check in when we arrived at 4pm I asked for an update on the room they stated they still didn’t have a room ready yet but once again they would update us when one is ready once again. After waiting about 15 more minutes a manager approached us and asked if we were waiting advised we had been since 12 he asked us to go to the desk and immediately wa

I sent a message after checking out that I accidentally left my MacBook charger in the room not necessarily expecting to be returned, but just as a courtesy. Unfortunately, they never acknowledged the message, which came across as unprofessional and unhelpful. That lack of basic communication affected my overall stay.

I forgot two shirts in the room. When I called to see if they could be mailed back to me at my expense, once the person who answered the phone understood the nature of my problem. They put me on hold and proceeded to ignore me. As a frequent traveler, I guess that is it for me and Sonesta.

This property impressed us even before we walked in the door. We were warmly greeted throughout our stay by the bellmen out front. Their attention also added an extra sense of safety. The front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping staff were equally courteous and friendly. We loved the location. Easy walk to restaurants, the river, public transportation and Magnificent Mile. I would absolutely stay here again.

I gave 4 stars only because my experience checking in and with the hotel staff was just terrible.. the hotel was beautiful and my room was very comfortable for 4 guests, however, the staff needs some lessons on friendliness. Landing in a new city, the way I was greeted was not welcoming at all. He gave us a hard time when asked if our room was ready or if we could possibly check in a little early. Then at the end of my stay they slapped on an early check in fee which was never mentioned when I checked in! Also terrible communication between workers to get our bags stored while we explored the city waiting for our room. So disappointing to have such rude employees at such a beautiful hotel.
I gave 4 stars only because my experience checking in and with the hotel staff was just terrible.. the hotel was beautiful and my room was very comfortable for 4 guests, however, the staff needs some lessons on friendliness. Landing in a new city, the way I was greeted was not welcoming at all. He gave us a hard time when asked if our room was ready or if we could possibly check in a little early. Then at the end of my stay they slapped on an early check in fee which was never mentioned when I checked in! Also terrible communication between workers to get our bags stored while we explored the city waiting for our room. So disappointing to have such rude employees at such a beautiful hotel.

Great hotel from all aspects. Very comfortable, quiet room. Wonderful, central location on the Riverwalk. All employees always had a smile on their faces and were very willing to help. Appreciated the help from doorman Lucus, who when out of his way each day to offer advice about the surrounding area, things to do and restaurants.

First time visiting Chicago. The hotel is in a great spot with subway, public transportation and so much within walking distance. The room was amazingly comfortable and large with great views of the river and surrounding city. Complimentary Nespresso coffee maker and pods in the room with complementary bottled water was great. One of the best Hotel experiences of my life and we have stayed in our fare share of hotels. I would 100% stay here again.

This was the perfect location to be at for downtown Chicago. If you’re visiting from out of town, all the things you would expect to do on your visit here are walkable distance. And spending a little extra for the river view is definitely worth it because the view is beautiful!

Beautiful hotel right on the river and close to everything. Amazing view, staff were very kind and helpful. We stayed in an accessible room for a family member and had a lot of space. Great city to walk, and very accessible actually, as well as this hotel. Would stay here again.

Location was right on the river and outstanding. Room extra large, comfy and had amazing views. Central to everything, could easily walk to many attractions. Hotel staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Hotel overall was wonderful, front desk and door staff were friendly and accommodating. My only feedback would be the few experiences we had in the on sight restaurant, breakfast service and food were good the two mornings we dined there. Evening service was awful, staff seemed inconvenienced by evening guests and food was just OK. This is the only negative that came out of our stay here.

Location is amazing as in the view!! Breakfast was fantastic (cinnamon waffles, coffee, etc). Staff was kind and attentive.Left a pot of coffee on my table each morning for coffee, loved that! Beer taps in restaurant were down during my stay.

This is a great location, situated near the River Walk between State street and Michigan avenue. The rooms are huge and very clean. You will be billed additional costs when you check in and can get $10 back in restaurant credit but you have to start using them the day you check in or you'll miss out on the last day. The restaurant does not pick up the phone or deliver to the room as advertised. Small inconvenience, but important to know if you are in a hurry in the morning. I've stayed at this location 4 times now, and will stay again. I love this part of the city.

Extremely pleased with the hotel views and comfortable beds. The rooms were cleans, bathrooms were nice and kitchen was enough for those staying for a weekend or a few weeks. Did I mention the views?? This will be my go to hotel for Chicago. It’s centrally located downtown within minutes of many attractions.

Nice place. Great location. One thing that did annoy me. They put a 100.00 hold on my card for every night I was there (three nights -300.00). I asked them when I would be reimbursed and they told me in 5-7 business days. I thought the purpose of giving them your CC was so they could charge the card at the end of the visits. Now they basically steal your money for the length of your visit. Here’s the math. They have 381 guest room. Assume they are full. Average length of stay is 3 night. 381x300 equals 114,300.00 that they get to hold for a week plus. Royal Sonesta is a chain of over 1000 hotels. Now they are holding 114m of our money (rough math). At a 9 % return, the parent company makes 10 million plus on our temporary invested. Kind of tired of getting screwed at every opportunity.

Location was amazing. The bed was one of the best we have experienced. The staff was extremely helpful. The only downfall was the attached restaurant was extremely expensive for the food/drinks. We will stay there again though.
