Nice property. Loved the indoor pool and hot tub! Staff was nice!

Comfortable bed, nice room. Bathroom small and pool not open.

The pool was green the room was smoking with no ash tray microwave didn't work we had to wiggle the cord to get ace to turn on tape on lights

The room was okay but the showers needed maintenance. However during our whole stay the pool was closed off. We asked every day when it would open but every time they would give us the same response, that they were waiting for a "water inspection". The room also had a weird mildew smell.

OK accomadations. Room in disrepair with bathroom tiles missing, corrosion. Dirty bedspreads. Pool was closed, with no reason given.

We only stayed for nights. But we really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely be staying with them again in the future! From the time we got out of our car we were greeted by great staff with huge smiles. And the room was wonderful and we greatly Appreciated the hot tub in our room which helped us out alot with our hurting bodies lol. And we also really enjoyed the jacuzzi in the Hotel!! And the pool.

We checked in at 3:55 only to arrive at a room that had not been cleaned. After waiting over an hour and a half longer we enter a room that smelled horribly of smoke (we requested a non-smoking room). That was powdery pebbles on the carpet that my 8 year stepped in. I called the front desk for someone to come vacuum. They asked me if I had waited for the room to be cleaned before entering?!! When the housekeeper arrived he said, ‘Sorry about that. It’s the end of the day. You know how it is.’ And proceeded to vacuum the whole room. I checked the room after he left. Pictures show the beds had not been changed. Towels in the bathroom were wet. Tables and counters were wet. The pool and hot tub were closed as well. Manager said it was on the website but the website did not include Sunday or Monday, the days we were staying. He claimed to cancel our reservation but so far I have not seen a cancellation in my account nor have I seen a refund. AND he had the nerve to ask me not to leave a bad review!

Pool and jacuzi is the highlight.. No breakfast No cleaning service No fresh towels. JUST A Bed. Price cheap. Needs renovations.. cash cow

This was a last minute decision, but still a regrettable one. My girlfriend and I needed some away time...time away from the kids, time away from the grandkids, and time away from just plain being adults! I rated this hotel poor due to the quality of the rooms. Nothing is up-to-date, the rooms are in poor condition, and the beds are absolutely the cheapest, lowest quality mattresses they could have possibly found. I have slept on mats in jail that were more comfortable than the mattress in our suite. The hot tub in our suite was also nasty! We did not even attempt to use it due to how dirty it was. We were disturbed half the night with drunks arguing and fighting, and they said nothing about the fact that they had teenagers drinking vodka in the pool area! The only good thing about our stay was the pool. Although it was not the cleanest area around the pool, the water itself was clean and well heated, and the hot tub was also perfect temperature. I would rate this a 2 star! If not for the pool being warm and hot tub being hot, it would most certainly be rated a 1 star!! We will not be coming back to the Econo-lodge, ever! My personal recommendation....pay the extra to stay at the Holiday Inn just up the road, much higher quality and 100x more comfortable!! Do not reserve a room here, I promise you will regret it as much as we did!!

Like heated pool

We actually had a terrible experience with this hotel. Our non smoking room reeked of smoke. There was mold and dry pee on the toilet seat. There was missing and damaged panelling on the ceiling outside our room. Additionally there was panelling hanging from the ceiling outside the adjacent rooms.

Front desk staff was friendly and check-in was smooth. That’s about where the positives end. The room door had a huge dent/hole they tried to repair. The door frame lock on the inside would not have stopped anyone as it easily moved around when wiggled. The floors in the bathroom had bugs, dirt and hair from others. The door to the bathroom was disgusting in both sides. The walls had splatters of who knows what on them. The sheet wasn’t even all the way on the bed and was inside out. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Only stayed one night and will not be back. The value for the amount paid was poor. The property was dirty and rooms were rundown and not kept clean.

Bathroom was a little dirty. Bathroom had a missing part of the baseboard and was dirty in that area of the bathroom. Pillow wasnt very good at all.Needed 2 pillows

Room was not as pictured, heavy heavy smoke smell, guy a the front desk was very nice but the room was awful not clean big hole in the bathroom tub not cleaned.

The place is a dump. There was hair in the bathtub, the sheets looked nasty like someo ne had sex in it before we got there. The walls were dirty with stainsThere was no continental breakfast and no clerk available when we were trying to check out. We had to give the maid our keys when we left. The poor lady was standing there calling the clerk and the owner because she was locked out.

It was not bad for the price. Mold on the shower celing could of used vacuuming in the room and stain on the sheet around waist area. Not sure what that was. No bugs at least.

Location is a plus a minute from Helen, but this place is a mess. Dirty and stained bed sheets, talk to front desk and they said bed sheets were clean, i said if was clean I wouldn’t complain and he gave me a nasty attitude. Bathroom was full os soap scummed like never was clean, bathroom door has all kind of stains never clean. Even was a $110 night this hotel need a new housekeeper that can clean. Do not stay here.

What you see on the listing is NOT what you get. The room we originally booked was disgusting. First of all, it was “non smoking” and the whole room reeked of smoke. (and also mildew)Upon walking in, the first bed had massive wet spots and stuff on the covers & pulling back the sheets, there were stains on everything else too. Appeared to not be cleaned. The bathroom walls had black mold surrounding my the shower. I’m pregnant and absolutely did not feel comfortable in that room so the guy at the front let us stay in another room. That room was better but still gross & uncomfortable. It smelled. The floors were gross & not cleaned, there were stains on all of the sheets (a lot less than the first, though) & a literal cockroach in the bed. we covered the bed in extra blankets we found in the room that seemed cleaner & slept on those. The towels in the bathroom appeared to have pubic hairs on them (so gross) , & the handle to the bathroom was broken. we also had to ask for a remote for the tv because there was as no remote in the room! At night, you will have the opportunity to hear every single thing going on in & outside of every room nearby. (if you know what i mean) i could quite literally hear when the room next to us got a vibration on their phone. the walls are PAPER thin. You will also hear very loud plumbing sounds whenever any showers or sinks are turned on in other rooms. The breakfast options are extremely limited (muffins,waffles, coffee,& juice).

There was a big hole in the bathroom wall, burn holes in the bedding, the tub looked like an animal walked in it, a cat maybe? Pretty sure the mattresses haven’t been replaced in about 20 years.We were kicked out of the breakfast area shortly after 10 by the front desk clerk because they had to clean before the rush of ppl came to the pool 🙄 I expected a little nicer accommodations for the price paid. Overall, I definitely would not stay here again.

Im going to be straight forward- if you are looking for a Hilton style- keep looking. If you want to be right at the edge of all the hustle and bustle of town, it's a great pick. The price was great for our 4 nights.It was clean, but we did have a stained pillow case that was immediately taken care of by the front desk. It is an older building and they have done some renovations but the walls are a bit thin. Wasn't an issue for us. The water pressure is AMAZING and the hotel supplied toiletries, coffee and coffee pot, a mini fridge and a microwave. Bed was comfortable. We will definitely stay again.

Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. It is an older motel style stay that could use updates in bathroom and flooring.

It was our first time in Helen, GA so we weren’t familiar with the area. The Motel is the farthest from downtown area. There were a lot of cigarette butts in the common areas, large spiderwebs from the edge roof to the hand rails on the 2nd floor. Most of the doors had dents, the paint was scratched and chipped. Our room had a large dent on the metal door, the sink faucet was loose, there was a nickel size cigarette burn in the bed spread, which was very, very thin. The sheets, were clean, but very thin. The bed was slightly leaning to one side showing a gap between the headboard and the mattress, that although looked very square and flat, was comfortable. There was rust on the toilet where the seat connected with the bowl. The bathroom was a tub/shower combination, was clean and had clean white towels. The room itself was clean, but had a faint cigarette smoke smell. The TV worked and there was a fridge and microwave, that we didn’t use. The air conditioner worked very well. The place could use an upgrade, new linens, more attention to detail in certain areas, some air fresheners, but definitely some ashtrays outside or designated smoking areas. The motel attendant was nice and friendly, think he was the only person on site. I gave it an average rating, because the room was clean, it had great water pressure in the shower, the mattress was comfortable and the AC worked. New linens, some touch ups and some minor repairs would make a huge improvement.

Property is outdated. Staff was very nice. But everytime i went to the front dest had to wait for someone to come up. The room was clean. But the bathroom door front panel was barely hanging on and could not close the door without getting stuck. That room 205. No suitcases stand to put my suitcases on. Bed was horrible and pillows sucked. Barley sleep my neck and shoulders were killing me by the morning. Husband and both my boys did not sleep well either. Oh and when we got to our room went to check the ded and one of thw deds was missing a fittted sheet. But they came and put one on for us. Will not stay again.

Or toilet clothes in the middle of the night and there was no answer at the front desk by phone or via my walking to the front desk and ringing the hell for service. Eeek!

My wife is handicapped. I did not specify this when reserving the room but the quickly accommodated her needs when arriving.

The property is not within a safe walking distance to downtown Helen. Tried to get coffee and breakfast at 7:10a and the office was locked up and the breakfast room was dark and locked. Tried again at 7:40a. Breakfast was supposed to be available from 6a-9a.

Given wrong room number at check-in. Room was already occupied. Remedied situation quickly. Room was clean but definitely showed signs of age and wear. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offerings were coffee, juice and pre-packaged muffins and danish.

I stayed at the Budgetel Inn & Suites in Helen, Ga and was very pleased with my choice. I got to the hotel around 12:45 am and had to ring the bell and then telephone the night clerk. He had the best attitude!! I also felt safe as I was alone. but I was glad to see the parking lot and exterior were pretty well lit up and I in nice shape. The room itself seemed very clean and I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

The lady at the front was friendly when I checked in. However, they didn’t get the message that we needed side by side rooms. We had to have one on the ground floor as we have someone who cannot do stairs-they did accommodate that. Our second room had a leaking toilet so they moved us into another room, grudgingly. That room had been smoked in and was pretty unbearable for non smokers. We were given a 3rd room & told they couldn’t move us again. The final room was ok. However we only had one wash cloth for three females. When I asked about that I was told there must be a laundry issue and that we would get more later. We didn’t. My Expedia charges were $314. When we checked in the receipt from the hotel said it was only $123 for each the rooms. I’m not sure where the price difference is. Maybe Expedia fees? Let me say again, the rooms were clean. The front desk lady was & continued to be friendly through changing rooms. I’m sure she was frustrated with us by the time it was all said & done. Breakfast was ok also. If you are diabetic plan to take your own food/coffee creamer etc.

Non smoking room smelled like cigarettes. We called to ask for a change in rooms which we were denied and no solution was offered. Had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come out to the front desk to help us out. Hot tub had cold water pumping into it. Bathroom toilet had brown ring around the water line, not cleaned before check in. Fitted sheet on one bed had stains on sheet. A couple dead bugs on floor.

Started with check in. We booked a 2 Queen room, we received all double beds. Says the ran out. When I asked about it the manager mouthed off and said you can check out and get a refund. Knowing there wasn’t anymore options. We had a plugged toilet one of the rooms and I called down and he said you can come get a plunger. Had to shut the water off and when we did the water leaked from the shut off valve the whole time. No maintenance person. Our room had mutilple leak spots and when the rain started last night it started leaking again. Had to listen to it leaking and dripping on ceiling all night and morning. The ceiling in the hallway was torn out and left that way. Had items stolen from one of the vehicles while we were there. Comforter in multiple rooms had cigarette burns in them. The worst stay at a hotel without a question.

Not able to walk to the where all the stores and restaurants are. A little far from the main attractions.

There is a water treatment plant right beside the hotel. Very bad odors waft passed you as you come in and out. The indoor pool is dated and my wife got an infection from the water.

Our room was clean and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy and staff was friendly. Everything was in good condition. The price of the room was comparable to the accommodations. There was supposed to be free breakfast at 7 am but we left at 7:55 and no one had showed up to open up for breakfast. Other than that everything was fine.

Did not really look like the pictures. Very run down. Breakfast very limited. Waffle iron broken. But cheap. Room was clean but had a funny smell.

I booked this hotel for our yearly Christmas trip to Helen. We’ve always stayed at the same place but decided to try somewhere else. NEVER AGAIN! For one Expedia overcharged me but $100 compared to the receipt I got upon my arrival. Second the guy working at the front tried be rude when we went to check in until he realized I wasn’t the one then he was extremely helpful and nice after. When we got to our room it stunk like cigarettes and a moldy smell. The blankets on the bed were literally paper thin which was insane to me. Thankfully the next day we found others in drawers there. The room was small and clostrophobic. The bathroom is so small my kids could barely change in there. The tub was nasty we didn’t use it to even shower. Thankfully we were only there 2 nights and we did get in the jacuzzi (only good thing about the hotel). Pool is not heated. Breakfast was decent but it was very unsanitary to have open boxes of cereal all in the cabinets and drawers. 2 waffle makers but no batter or anything. All in all worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and I’ll never use Expedia again either!
