Great place, lovely carriage house with plenty to do, awesome breakfasts, a stocked library and engaging hosts. A wonderful landing place from which to explore all the opportunities Bar Harbor and Acadia park have to offer. Highly recommend.

Lovely overnight stay. Welcomed with wine and cheese. Hosts offered really great recommendations on activities. Location is prime for a scenic walk to town along the ocean! Stayed in Abbott Suite which does not include bfast but was luxurious.

Absolutely beautiful place and the food is delicious, the hosts Dan & Joan are both so sweet and helpful. I noticed the pool also has a lot of floatable rafts and toys so the young ones can have fun as well.

Beautiful B&B, with exceptional renovations and decor. Wonderful room. Owners very friendly and informative about things to do in the area.. Close to village, but far enough to be quiet and private. Nice afternoon wine and cheese, and exceptional breakfasts! Only minor issue was room was not serviced after first night stay. Not a big deal but surprised us. Certainly give this a very strong recommendation.

Very good breakfast. The mushroom omelette we had for breakfast was simply outstanding. Also the wine & cheese between 17:30-19:00 is a great way to meet the other guests. Superb !

We stayed 4 nights at Chiltern Inn in July. What a gorgeous property! We felt like royalty on vacation. Our room was charming and cozy. All rooms in the house were beautifully decorated with elegant furniture, antiques, and delightful artworks. All amenities were clean and well taken care of. Our hosts, Joan and Dan were very kind and caring- a wonderful hot breakfast was served every morning, a complimentary wine was waiting the guests in afternoon; their knowledge of Bar Harbor and Acadia NP were vast and their enthusiasm for activities contagious. It was a good one night stay experience at Dan and Joan’s place. The suite is big, clean and cozy. It’s on the side of the building and has its own entrance which provides us more privacy. The living room is big so we got enough space for our luggages. The bed is super comfortable, like it a lot.

Property located in the silent part of Bar Harbor. Still walkable distance to the restaurants and shopping area. Sparkingly clean, comfortable, beautiful interior decorations, easy to check in. Certainly we will come back next time.

We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully maintained. The hosts were polite, warm, and very well-informed, offering plenty of helpful tips and recommendations—every suggestion we followed turned out to be spot on. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free. The food was delicious, served right on time, and really added to the overall experience. Overall, a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and charm. Highly recommended!

At this BnB I was denied breakfast because I had a kitchen in my room did not know that until I got there. the pool was out of service I was told this after I had booked 6 weeks no repair the grounds were unkept. there was no maid service the sheets were worn and old as was the furnishing except for some decorations from Wayfair. a light coating of dust on some never used items in the kitchen. a small tv on a low table in the living area none in the bedroom. WAY OVERPRICED AND UNDERWHELMING. last resort stay, it was the only game in town when I booked and now, I know why. The cancelation policy is overly strict. a government shut down and a nor easter storm was not enough for refund. A sailing trip canceled on us because of rough seas and high winds. we went or we would have lost close to 1,400.00. state park was closed. but you could drive through. I explained all this to management the answer was that's too bad and stores downtown are open, and we could still walk around. I expected to lose a deposit but the policy is full nights booking over 1300 dollars. really come on man. never going back to that hostel BnB. just palin mean and passive aggresive tone i cant stand.

Beautiful inn, Joan and Dan were so kind and hospitable. It's a nice short walk to downtown Bar Harbor. And everything was super smooth while we were there. We especially loved the jacuzzi tub in our room!

Perfect location for walking to Main St. and enjoying all of the shops and restaurants. Also, minutes to drive to Acadia and access the beautiful National Park. Apartment with full kitchen (Raven's Nest) was great for preparing a couple of meals. The king size bed was so comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The built-in window seat for two was lovely for relaxing and reading. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

The room was great, spacious living area. Kitchenette was a great plus (even though we didn’t use it). Only concern I had was how thin the walls were and the creaking floors. Even though that is part of its charm, I prefer not to wake the neighbors when I get up to use the restroom at night.

Pas vraiment d'accueil en arrivant à l'hôtel. Une enveloppe avec nos coordonnées et les instructions pour le déroulement du séjour. Il faut s'inscrire pour le petit déjeuner à une heure précise. Ayant oublié de nous insrcire le second jour, en arrivant à la salle à manger à 8h40, il nous a été répondu que la cuisine était fermée. Pas même une tasse de thé ou de café nous a été proposée. Ayant payé plus de CHF 400.-/nuit, nous trouvons que c'est un très mauvais rapport qualité/prix. Dan, l'hôte des lieux nous a par contre très bien conseillés pour la découverte du Acadia National Park. Nous ne retournerons pas dans cet établissement.

Dan, l'hôte des lieux nous a par contre très bien conseillés pour la découverte du Acadia National Park. Nous ne retournerons pas dans cet établissement.

We had such a lovely stay at this bed and breakfast! The hosts were some of the friendliest people we’ve ever met—so welcoming and helpful with tips about Bar Harbor and Acadia. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and made us feel right at home. And we absolutely adored Cookie, their sweet dog—he made the stay even more special. We would definitely come back the next time we’re in the area!

Beautiful inn, Joan and Dan were so kind and hospitable. It's a nice short walk to downtown Bar Harbor. And everything was super smooth while we were there. We especially loved the jacuzzi tub in our room!

Property located in the silent part of Bar Harbor. Still walkable distance to the restaurants and shopping area. Sparkingly clean, comfortable, beautiful interior decorations, easy to check in. Certainly we will come back next time.

Perfect location for walking to Main St. and enjoying all of the shops and restaurants. Also, minutes to drive to Acadia and access the beautiful National Park. Apartment with full kitchen (Raven's Nest) was great for preparing a couple of meals. The king size bed was so comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The built-in window seat for two was lovely for relaxing and reading. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

What a beautiful Inn! We stayed in the Yellow Room which was nicely appointed and opened into a charming sitting room. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and wonderful advice about sightseeing from our hosts. The Inn is away from the bustle of downtown, but close enough to walk. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend a stay at Chiltern Inn.

Absolutely beautiful place and the food is delicious, the hosts Dan & Joan are both so sweet and helpful. I noticed the pool also has a lot of floatable rafts and toys so the young ones can have fun as well.

We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully maintained. The hosts were polite, warm, and very well-informed, offering plenty of helpful tips and recommendations—every suggestion we followed turned out to be spot on. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free. At this BnB I was denied breakfast because I had a kitchen in my room did not know that until I got there. the pool was out of service I was told this after I had booked 6 weeks no repair the grounds were unkept. there was no maid service the sheets were worn and old as was the furnishing except for some decorations from Wayfair. a light coating of dust on some never used items in the kitchen. a small tv on a low table in the living area none in the bedroom. WAY OVERPRICED AND UNDERWHELMING. last resort stay, it was the only game in town when I booked and now, I know why. The cancelation policy is overly strict. a government shut down and a nor easter storm was not enough for refund. A sailing trip canceled on us because of rough seas and high winds. we went or we would have lost close to 1,400.00. state park was closed. but you could drive through. I explained all this to management the answer was that's too bad and stores downtown are open, and we could still walk around. I expected to lose a deposit but the policy is full nights booking over 1300 dollars. really come on man. never going back to that hostel BnB. just palin mean and passive aggresive tone i cant stand.

Very good breakfast. The mushroom omelette we had for breakfast was simply outstanding. Also the wine & cheese between 17:30-19:00 is a great way to meet the other guests. Superb !

The free breakfast is a homemade breakfast by the owner! Local and fresh ingredients. One morning was an omelette, another was blueberry pancakes with Maine blueberries and maple syrup. The owners are happy to suggest ideas for your time in and around Acadia for anything you might want to do.

We had a great visit in a far more spacious room/suite than we anticipated. The owner/operator of the Chiltern Inn was very helpful in assisting us in identifying a range of activities in the nearby Acadia National Park that matched well to our itinerary. All in all a lovely place to stay, and excellent assistance to the team running the Inn.

What a lovely home! The Chiltern Inn is a charming old New England home tucked behind mature trees and beautiful gardens filled with huge hydrangeas and flowers. The owners were incredibly hospitable, and you can tell how much thought they’ve put into making the inn feel special and welcoming. The location is perfect—just a 10-minute walk to Main Street’s restaurants and shops and a short drive to the trails of Acadia. Peaceful, charming, and perfectly positioned for enjoying the best of Bar Harbor and Acadia!

Joan and Dan were lovely. Dan played music in the afternoons during wine and cheese time. We got a good mix of wine/cheese by ourselves and a bit of socializing as well. Dan's voice is wonderful as he occasionally sings the songs he plays (piano is primary instrument).
