Checking in was ok, allocated room 314, went into the room and the smell of damp and mould was awful, I put fan on max and opened the window. After about 45 minutes my chest went really tight, I was coughing a lot. Went straight to reception, and was moved to room 324, still a faint damp smell but better than before. The food in hotel is not as good as before, the new menu lacks real choice. Stayed there many times before, but won’t be returning any time soon. Also be advised there is now a £5 per night car park fee that is not advertised. Went for breakfast 15 after it opened and most of the hot food wasn’t 😢

A well located hotel in a very pleasant setting with extensive gardens at the rear with woods and golf course beyond. The public rooms were attractive and the staff were excellent, especially in the bar and restaurant. Plenty of parking spaces onsite. Breakfast was as good as expected held in a large attractive room overlooking the rear. The bedroom was in a more 'modern' wing to the side, facing the green space to the rear. Fine, but the decor requires updating. There was some noise from the floor above. but then one cannot account for other guests!

The toilet is too high, which is very unfriendly to people under 1.75 metres, and they can't even step on the ground. The sewer is too slow to drain. After taking a shower for a while, the water is almost waterproof.

Our experience was great. a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The room was the highlight: Air conditioned, large bed with feather pillows and duvet. Very comfortable. Bathroom very clean and modern.
