Resort is Old Florida Style! Surrounded by oak trees dripping with Spanish moss with a beautiful lake as your backdrop. Pontoon boat rentals, little store in the office. Staff is extremely friendly. It’s a true gem that brings you back to being on a lake as a kid. We will definitely be coming back for more weekend getaways.

This place is a bit of Old Florida. It's had that charm of Old time lake vacationing. The rooms are clean and are set with a kitchenette. The property people are all friendly and eager to help you out if you need something. We will definitely be returning in the near future. Pool, basketball court, shuffle board, corn hole, fishing and pointing Pontoon boat rentals. Everything in one place to enjoy your stay.

Water was shut-off for 2 days due to underground pipe burst for the entire facility. Management told us when we arrived. However, they didn't expect a shut-down for 2 days. No comp or credit offered for the water shutdown.

The 1 bedroom I stayed in was very clean and was just perfect for me and my dog to have a little stay-vacation. This time of year the place isn’t even a quarter full which makes it very peaceful and serene. It is a nice shady hidden gem on a lake with a pool. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

tropical Resort & Marina is a gem of ‘Old Florida’ with shady Oaks, picnics benches, fire pit, pool & marina for your boat or you can rent a Pontoon. The accommodations are simple, quiet, and all our neighbors were friendly. The staff was chill & pleasant. We rented the pontoon & had the lake and rivers almost all to ourselves, even on Labor Day!

Found this gem and so glad we did. Lakefront room was super cozy, bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The pontoon boat ride was a plus taking in the scenery. Great restaurants within a short driving distance. Pool was clean with lots of loungers to relax. We will definitely be back! Thanks Tropical Resort for a relaxing stay!

We LOVED it here! We stayed here during our visit to Downtown Deland (very short 10min drive) and blue springs (20 min drive). This is NOT a Marriott or a Hilton, this is hotel has the old Florida feel. Room and bathroom was super clean, check in was fast and super convenient, there is fire pits and a clean pool and basketball a loading dock . Very quiet at the end of the road at the lake. I would definitely go back.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights. We were given 3 old but clean towels and 2 washcloths. The attendant told us to come back if we needed more. The office closes at 5 so after the second day we stopped in yet there was no one around. There is no housekeeping which was fine. The room was clean enough. Don't expect any extras. We had 2 spoons and 2 cups which was fine. We are used to camping and we just needed a place to sleep. The pool area was quite nice. It was quiet, It looked like a great place if you are a fisherman. Also, the laundry was out of service. It was a great location if you want some quiet time and still close to town and the highways. For the price it was a good deal

I really enjoyed the old Florida vibe here. I was surprised at the ashtrays on the tables outside each room, but we never had a neighbor so smokers weren’t a problem. The bed was great, one of the best I’ve had at a hotel. Being on/ near the lake was great for an evening wind down. There are charcoal grills available in the ‘quad’ area. Also a fire pit, pool, and several outdoor activities. The kitchen was lacking, it had the basics, but barely. If you go and plan to cook at home, pack your own utensils. We had a pot and a pan, 4 each of plates, saucers and silverware. No mixing bowls or serving pieces. I ended up washing all of the kitchenware before use due to a dirty spoon ( see pic). The bathroom is sparse but certainly functional. All and all I would go again, I would pack more for meal plans.

Checked in and the room had a moldy order. Furniture was old and needed immediate replacement. The room decor was very dated. I was expecting a romantic weekend getaway. We didn't stay and was disappointed by all the positive reviews about the place and location. The pictures depicting the property doesn't reflect the reality of what it looks like.

These are pictures posted by the owners of this establishment. Very shady and borderline scam behavior. This property is WAY too expensive for what it is. The rooms are quite outdated and they don\'t look clean. We found old food on the floor from a previous stay and the bed linens were stained as well. We were very disappointed.

This place was really cute and clean. Shibed was comfortable. I slept like a baby. The bathroom was big and we had a full kitchen. The people in this area are super nice. And so quiet there, You can't hear people coming and going. Nobody knocks on your door to bother you. It's amazing!

The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The walls were extremely thin as we could hear the people’s movie, music, and conversation in the room next door. The property is part camping/RV and part motel. It is also very far away from any stores or restaurants.

Tropical Resort and Marina is a quaint, friendly, old Florida property at the end of a dead end road, right on Lake Beresford. Love that the motel rooms offer a kitchen, a nice sitting area in a patio with beautiful, nature views. Lovely shade under Live Oaks and nice marina. Very happy that the rooms have smart TVs and WiFi was very good the weekend we stayed. The stove was a bit delicate because the knobs were replaced and I had be careful to make sure it was off. Minimal pans and nice, basic kitchen ware. Mini split AC was good. Only an 18 min drive to Blue Springs to see the manatees. We will definitely come back in the future and most likely bring our fishing boat. Thank you for a great stay!

This is the second time staying on Lake Beresford and this place is just so peaceful with a feeling of camp cottages. Campfires, pool and pontoon boat ride were some of the activities they have available and we did them all. The rooms are comfortable. The kitchens are old but functional.

We loved our stay at Tropical Resort. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our suite of clean and comfortable and it was nice to have a full-size frig and stove as I cooked several meals while we were there. The property is beautiful and peaceful. Can't wait to visit again.

The staff was beyond polite and responsive. The property is impeccable, quiet, and reserved. The rooms were quaint, comfortable, with excellent bedding. Old School Florida ! Just what we were looking for. Rooms are simple, clean and descent. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Grounds are well kept..Some remodeling/Roof replacement was going on but this did not disturb us. Overall we would recommend it.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights. We were given 3 old but clean towels and 2 washcloths. The attendant told us to come back if we needed more. The office closes at 5 so after the second day we stopped in yet there was no one around. There is no housekeeping which was fine. The room was clean enough. Don't expect any extras. We had 2 spoons and 2 cups which was fine. We are used to camping and we just needed a place to sleep. The pool area was quite nice. It was quiet, It looked like a great place if you are a fisherman. Also, the laundry was out of service. It was a great location if you want some quiet time and still close to town and the highways. For the price it was a good deal

Tropical Resort and Marina is a quaint, friendly, old Florida property at the end of a dead end road, right on Lake Beresford. Love that the motel rooms offer a kitchen, a nice sitting area in a patio with beautiful, nature views. Lovely shade under Live Oaks and nice marina. Very happy that the rooms have smart TVs and WiFi was very good the weekend we stayed. The stove was a bit delicate because the knobs were replaced and I had be careful to make sure it was off. Minimal pans and nice, basic kitchen ware. Mini split AC was good. Only an 18 min drive to Blue Springs to see the manatees. We will definitely come back in the future and most likely bring our fishing boat. Thank you for a great stay!

A real secret gem. Quiet, but just a short drive to Deland. Attractive lakefront; fishing and boating. We needed separate bedrooms and this was a great option. Cheaper than two rooms at other hotels, and simpler. We were looking for a quiet getaway in the area, and this was perfect.

The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The walls were extremely thin as we could hear the people’s movie, music, and conversation in the room next door. The property is part camping/RV and part motel. It is also very far away from any stores or restaurants.

Tropical Resort and Marina is a nod to Old Florida. The spanish moss draping from the oak trees and the lake view from our rooms provided a peaceful and comfortable feeling of relaxing lake cabins. The rooms are older, but charming. It is NOT a hotel chain on a highway. It is nestled on a Lake, providing opportunities for fishing, and pontoon boat rental. They had a food truck on Sunday that added a relaxed camp feel. The 2 bedroom has a kitchen and living area We enjoyed the pool, the fishing pier and the firepit in the evening. We enjoyed local restaurants and Blue Springs. They are pet friendly, The staff was very responsive to our needs. Our family spent 3 days there and felt very peaceful. We all decided we will be coming back.

This is a lovely get-away location, with great peeks of wildlife. The buildings are older but well-maintained and clean. Comfortable bed with clean linens. No pretense or paying extra for mediocre amenities. We appreciated the kitchenette and the shared green space courtyard. Nice access to the lake. Quick drive into town for groceries and dining options! This would be a great location for a family reunion, crafter's retreat or gathering for a wedding. Don't just get a block of rooms at a hotel when you could snag the whole place! We will be back!

Found this gem and so glad we did. Lakefront room was super cozy, bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The pontoon boat ride was a plus taking in the scenery. Great restaurants within a short driving distance. Pool was clean with lots of loungers to relax. We will definitely be back! Thanks Tropical Resort for a relaxing stay!

I really enjoyed the old Florida vibe here. I was surprised at the ashtrays on the tables outside each room, but we never had a neighbor so smokers weren’t a problem. The bed was great, one of the best I’ve had at a hotel. Being on/ near the lake was great for an evening wind down. There are charcoal grills available in the ‘quad’ area. Also a fire pit, pool, and several outdoor activities. The kitchen was lacking, it had the basics, but barely. If you go and plan to cook at home, pack your own utensils. We had a pot and a pan, 4 each of plates, saucers and silverware. No mixing bowls or serving pieces. I ended up washing all of the kitchenware before use due to a dirty spoon ( see pic). The bathroom is sparse but certainly functional. All and all I would go again, I would pack more for meal plans.

Informed the property our employee was going to arrive late, they indicated they would have someone wait to meet him. Upon his arrival no one was available, the facility was locked tight and dark. Orbitz customer service could not reach the facility either.

It's a beautiful place ! My husband and I met my cousin and her husband here assort of a halfway meeting point. We all stayed Wed thru Fri. The place is gorgeous! Old school Florida style motel rooms with little kitchens with everything you need, marina, boat rentals, little store, swimming pool, picnic tables, grills, fire pit , laundry room. Don't look for fancy but it a great, clean place ! We had a great time ! They have music and a foodtruck on the weekends ! Would definitely stay here again !
