German Village Inn Motel

The one complaint I have is the parking situation they should not work trucks or U-Haul trucks in the lot . They take up to much space and makes getting out harder the it should be.

Spaces were very tight and my car got penned in. I had to enter from the passenger side one morning.

The property was extremely loud and the facilities were outdated and dirty. Didn’t sleep a wink because the walls were so thin

The beds were not very comfortable, but the room was clean. This is everything you'd expect out of a place like this. In a great location, close to German town and downtown. The parking lot is nice because it's right near your room! The lobby was very disorganized, there were random boxes of crap, a roll away bed, and a broken cooler. Definitely could be more inviting.

the beds make a horrible sound whenever you move. the outside of the hotel was very rundown and the ice machine looked like it had never been maintained.

The location is great ! I felt safe, plenty of parking. Checking in was easy and staff was very nice . The building is outdated But I was only there for over night. Several options for dining within walking distance . Close to down town Columbus.

Its a nice place but the parking is horrible trying to find a place to park

It was quick and easy to check in, older motel. Room was adequate. No frills, but wasnt expecting any. Felt safe in area, although building looks really run down. Ample parking.

This property does not look like the pictures online. Those pictures may have been taken many many years ago. I was surprised with the good reviews. When we checked in,the lobby looked like a junk yard. There was no drinks, breakfast items, dining room or hair salon like the listing shows. There was no lighting outside the rooms and the stairwell had no lights and was filthy. It was dark and unsafe. The room smelled like a cleaning solution but my white socks quickly turned filthy. The bed made noises and was hard, the tub was old and gross, the towels were hard and the shower had no hot water. Someone also called our room and woke us up at 12:30 and then was outside our door yelling. I messaged expedia and they were able to cancel our second night reservation. I would never stay here again. The only interesting thing was all the pepper plants everywhere.

The place was packed but they had my reservation and made me a place to park even though the lot was full. Place was clean and nice. I could walk to German Village.

The carpet felt gritty The sheets didn't look right. Probably just stained but I slept on the blanket.

Booked stay based on Expedia "7" rating and proximity to event venue. Smell of mold grabs your throat as soon as soon as you open the door. HOLE IN BATHROOM CELING w/ MOLD. BLACK MOLD ON BATH FIXTURES The room was remodeled and painted a brooding dark blue color. Extremely poor/ inadequate / dingy lighting - makes you think, "what are they hiding"? Would not stay again - ever.

The office was filthy and packed with boxes. The area in front of the desk was blocked off with bulletproof glass. The property itself, including the stairs going up to the room was filthy dirty. The bathroom in our room was filthy. One of the beds in our room was actually broken in one area of the mattress. We did not stay. We left without spending the night. It was too disgusting to even consider sleeping there.

Bathroom had a musty odor along with smell of urine. Tub shower needed to be replaced. Floor needed a good scrubbing. Fixtures were newer, but Kleenex box was rusty. No holder for toilet paper. Very dim lighting. Old ceiling. Lobby was a disaster. No coffee or juice offered. Garbage bins outside were full and overflowing, in plain view. Would not stay again.

- Room smelled musty and dank. - Insufficient lighting and dark paint color made room feel dark, small, and cave-like. - Water temperature fluctuated between ice cold and scalding regardless of faucet control - potential law suit if children are burned by sudden change to scalding water. - Dust, cobwebs, hair and grime in various places, including bathtub and sheets. - Uncomfortable and noisy mattresses. - No privacy curtains (only blackout curtains), allowing other guests (and staff!) to look inside the room. - Timer switch on bathroom light broken. - Unfinished tile trim work around tissue box insert. - Misleading photos of property - pictures imply coffee provided in lobby - this is not true. - People smoking marijuana outside the room in the middle of the night, smell and fumes entered our room.

This place was advertised as an Inn and I showed up to a dingy, dirty motel. I knew I wasn't arriving to the fanciest place because of the price I paid. But the room was covered in dust. There were stains on the walls from who knows what. The shower was dirty and there was a used, dirty washcloth hanging from the shower curtain wall. The white towels had suspicious black stains on them. I even drove to a 24 hour Walgreens to get Lysol for the bed before I felt comfortable sleeping on it. Next time, I am paying an extra $30 or whatever a night to be in a cleaner hotel.

The location is great, felt safe walking around during the late night hours. The hotel itself was not kept very clean and there was a smushed dead bug on our bathroom mirror. The hot water didn’t last very long and the room itself smelled musty and old. We booked a king bed online that was available, but when we got to check in, there were no king beds available anymore so we got downgraded to 2 double beds. Overall the location was great but that was the best part about this hotel. Not sure we’ll be returning.

We arrived on Saturday for our daughter’s wedding, Went into the room one bed was made the other was not, I addressed this to the office and was told the were still cleaning it. I said no problem as we just need to change into our suits and my dress and were leaving. The toilet paper holder was broke, the floors were filthy, so our socks were literally black. The next morning went to take a shower and it would not work, my husband and my adult son tried. The shower was cracked on the bottom and the drain was moved over. I told him about this and he said I should have come and got him. All you have to do is pull and turn it. I take a shower every day, I’m fully aware how it works. And the floors were still filthy that night after they supposedly cleaned. $ 20 was what he gave me back. Never again🙄

We were only in our room here for 10 minutes before checking out. There was human waste in our bathroom. I flushed and tried to look past that but then noticed a USED wet washcloth on our bathroom counter. The door had been ripped off the microwave. People were loitering in the parking lot listening to loud music. We felt unsafe but we tried to make it work because we weren't planning on spending much time in the room. My travel partner came out of the bathroom freaking out because there were cockroaches in the bathroom. That broke her. We could not leave fast enough because we did not want to take cockroaches home with us. I went to the front desk and told the person there who was dismissive and said "oh maybe we didn't clean that one today, do you want another room?" Absolutely not. Cockroaches aren't a one missed cleaning sort of thing. That shows a history of neglect. We checked out and went a few miles down the road to a new hotel. No refund was given even though we were only checked in for 10 minutes. I feel its fraudulent to keep our money when we paid for a safe, clean space to sleep for the night and we got a dirty, cockroach infested motel room. I'm shocked that Expedia allows this "hotel" on their platform. If you are reading this - you need to think twice about booking here unless you want cockroaches in your luggage.

Terrible draft in room, also bed bugs, and cockroachs, my left ankle was bitten about a half a dozen times by bed bugs over a couple nights!!!

This used to be a decent, inexpensive hotel. Despite the remodel of the rooms, the beds are the equivalent of sleeping on concrete. There was constant noise of loud music and people stomping around in the room above me. The sheets are itchy and the bath towels are better suited for dermabrasion. Trying to shower, I only got cold water and a foul stench with brackish water that stank of mold and bleach. This neighborhood and hotel is terrible. I'll never stay here again.

I was coming to Columbus to attend a furry convention at the Hilton Columbus Downtown, but that hotel was much too expensive for me and didn't have the days open I needed anyway. So, I selected German Village Inn Columbus for the sake of cheapness. As a cheap hotel, it was a mixed but generally positive choice. The bed was very comfortable, and the hotel room was quiet, and I had no trouble at all sleeping. The air condition worked perfectly, and the room came with both a mini refrigerator and microwave. I was particularly impressed with my room's Wi-Fi. I was getting about 20 mbps download, and my flat screen TV had an HDMI connection so when I plugged in my Google Chromecast, I was able to enjoy perfect streaming during my entire visit. I also had a good desk to set up my laptop and a comfortable computer chair. The main problem I had was with the shower. The whole time I was there, taking a shower was a miserable experience. The water temperature would not remain steady, so I had to keep waiting while taking a shower to avoid being burned or frozen. I told the receptionist as I was leaving, and I hope that's fixed. Also, I was there from Wednesday to Monday, and no one bothered to even empty my trash until Sunday night. There were no drawers, but I just put my clothes in my suitcase anyway. Also the TV screen was dirty, but I brought my own Windex. I also brought my own soap and shampoo. Fix the shower, and it would be a good motel.

It is a great location and the price is not bad for where it's located but it's definitely won't run down and a bit on the noisy side with very limited amenities.

There were groups of men hanging out in parking lot calling to all the women and fights at 7am that woke everyone up. Ceiling in room 40 bathroom is water logged and ready to cave in. Beds were very comfy.

We liked the location of the hotel, however it wasn’t the greatest room. The mattresses are thin and extremely noisy. It’s like you could feel every spring. While the room seemed fairly clean, things like the hair dryer on the wall dock had like an inch of dust on it that looked gross. For one night it’s not bad.

This property is OK for an overnight stay. The property is dated and the front desk, person checking and is not the most friendly. The room was quiet and for the most part clean. We do get a refrigerator and microwave in the room.

Area seems a bit sketchy, but it provided what I needed, a place to sleep for cheap. It is walking distance to restaurants and bars in the area which is great. Staff was not the friendliest or helpful.

We needed a place to stay for a night in Columbus after attending the Weezer concert in downtown. German Village Motel served the purpose. The room we got was clean and comfortable. The TV worked great, the bathroom was clean and well supply with soap, shampoo, and hair dryer. I think the reception area could be nicer. The fact that the person working there was behind plexiglass was not too reassuring. This are was kind of dark, dated, and there was nothing welcoming nor attractive about it.

The staff was friendly. Check in was easy.

This was my third stay here, and I’ll stay here again the next time I’m in Columbus. It’s clean, quiet, has a friendly staff and reasonable rates. And it’s right on the edge of Germantown, which is a great neighborhood to explore!

Staff didn't clean our room are changed our towels. Water bugs in room. No toilet paper holder. And locked us out after the first day. Would avoid this place.

The room was clean but we had found a used coffee bag In the coffee maker. The shower curtain reeked of mildew it also had some mold stains. When we went to check out the door was locked and the workers were no where to be found. We stood outside for a good 15 minutes before we had to call the hotel to tell them hey we wanna check out

The property is a bit dated but the room was clean and the location is excellent. Great neighborhood and close to everything.

I was worried at first but it turned outto be a great hotel. It was quiet and felt safe. Tons of bar restaurants. FYI if you arrive late at night it can look Sketchy. I would stay there again .

We wanted to go to the German Village and this hotel was convenient. Although basic, it had what we needed for an overnight day.

No frills - including morning breakfast or coffee, limited tv options (ignore the menu), limited lighting (desk area in shade from room lighting) - but good for the price difference From the others - would consider returning for another visit later this year...

This might be the best motel I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in a lot of motels. The rooms are huge, clean, and comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the location -- in addition to being close to downtown -- is in the very pretty and pleasant German Village neighborhood. There is a variety of good dining and drinking options within easy walking distance of the motel. Great place!

It was one of the cleanest places we have stayed at for awhile.We thought it migt be noisey since were on the first floor with the parking outside but it was not. They did not have any breakfast at all :(
