Fantastic spa hotel located between Kelso and Jedburgh. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the spa is top notch with a heated outdoor pool . Make sure you check out the whisky bar ! One point to note is that the courtyard rooms share a vestibule with another room so there is the potential for a bit less privacy than in other rooms. But thats a minor note . We had a lovely stay.

Our 2nd year staying here. We absolutely love it. We feel so relaxed during our time here and will definitely be back in the future. Our cottage room was fantastic. A couple of things that need slight improvement: 1st one I mentioned last year in that the bar area is appallingly managed. The guy serving there really put us on edge and did anything possible to avoid pouring a drink. I hope he’s ok as he seemed a little unhinged. The whole bar area was a mess with plates, glasses and bottles strewn all over. He was in dire need of assistance but it never arrived. We spent only 20 minutes in there on Friday and in that short time, 3 couples came and went without drinks whilst another couple waiting over 10 minutes for 2 drinks while he faffed about by the till. We countered this by ordering our drinks from Charlie’s and then bringing them in to the bar area. After 20 minutes we couldn’t bear it any longer so relocated to the drawing room adjacent. So weird. 2nd one is a simple resolve - please add a soft close hinge to the main door in/out of the spa area. Anyone lying close to this door is constantly disrupted with every open/close. A real pain in our *ss. Lastly and another easy fix - the pool was not heated as much as it was last year and I’d go as far to say it was chilly being in it. Turn the temperature up, folks.

The Jacuzzi was out of order in the spa and there was no steam room which would have enhanced my relaxation. There are 2 saunas which were nice, the outdoor pool exceptional. The Hot Stone massage was extremely relaxing and worth the money. Overall the Spa was excellent with very friendly staff that could not do enough to help.

The hotel is great, we had a great room which was really clean. The reason we visited this property was for the spa, this unfortunately turned out to be a real disappointment. It was soooo over crowded that it completely ruined the whole experience. When we arrived at the spa, there were no locks left to leave our possessions in. Then, we entered the spa and had to wait for ages to get a lounger. Once we got settled on our lounger we went into the pool, the pool is great. We then went to go into the jacuzzi pool, it was full. We waited for ages and eventually gave up. We the returned to our lounger to chill out. At this point there was more and more people arriving at the spa, these new arrivals were just walking about looking for somewhere to sit or lie down. It was like a cheap all inclusive in Costa Brava back in the 80's, all that was missing was the German's coming down at 6am to leave a towel on a bed! The spa facilities are great, there are just far to many people in the spa at any given time. There was absolutely nothing relaxing about this Spa.

This hotel was the perfect midweek getaway for a night to get rid of the January blues. We booked a room in the estate section of the hotel which going by pictures gives you a more modern room and is situated within the extension to the hotel. The room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel. There was everything you would need in the room. I’m told by my partner the provided hairdryer is the best of any she has used at previous stays at other hotels, so bonus points there. I’m not one for Spas but my partner loves them. But even I was impressed. Outdoors there is a choice of two saunas, a heated outdoor pool and a hot tub. There’s also a plunge pool if you’re feeling brave. Indoors you have plenty of relaxation beds and you can also directly access the heated pool via a sliding door. There was plenty of towels during our visit as well as water, herbal tea and dried fruits within the Spa. We stayed on a Monday during January and there was no issues using any of the spa facilities. On a weekend you may have a bit of a wait for some of the outdoor facilities. We had dinner at Charlie’s and the food was good, a little expensive but that’s to be expected. Service was attentive and friendly. After dinner we headed to the 1745 Club/Bar which is where we spent the rest of the evening. It gives a nice cosy, warm vibe which is exactly what we needed on a cold January evening. My only negative would be the lack of a drink on arrival.

An impressive looking property especially at night. The Concierge staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a good feel with lifts to both floors if required. The rooms are well appointed, modern and everything works well. The double shower was perfect. The spa is something else. It starts as you walk down the corridor giving you a feeling of calm with the music and smells. The staff are great, helpful and no silly rules. Once you enter the spa you experience the lovely layout and all the comfortable beds and loungers, almost spoilt for choice. The out door pool is one of the best i have experienced with two saunas a plunge pool and jacuzzi to compliment it all. Breakfast in the dinning room is very good. An excellent spread of fresh fruit, breads, cold counter and a good quality hot food. There is a chief who will make you anything to do with eggs. There are items they charge extra for which i couldn't understand. Ive never had to pay £7 for a bowl of porridge. Avocado on toast was more. They should look at scrapping them charges. We stayed at the hotel for a week but only dined in the restaurant (Charlies) on the first night. The portion sizes are simply to small. We came away still hungry. The prices even for a hotel make your eyes water. £19 for the smallest portion of cheese and biscuits i have ever had is not right. The quality and temperature of your coffee is dependent on who makes it. Still a quality hotel where would stay again

An amazing escape away from it all in beautiful surroundings. Fantastic service and a very high standard of finish in all areas of the hotel. The Spa is like a sanctuary and swimming outdoors at sunset can’t be beaten. Can’t wait to return.

It could have been better if I actually got my glass of red wine I ordered, I got my pot of tea at breakfast without having to ask a couple of times plus I had to ask when my room was getting cleaned (after 2pm) when I had been out of the room since 11am. Bedroom comfy with luxurious bedding and a lovely spa area.

From check-in to check out this hotel was exceptional. The staff were helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great places to eat, great atmosphere, the room was very comfortable and spotless (even had a turn-down service) and the breakfast was wonderful. The spa experience was superb. Would definitely recommend

Very nice hotel with beautiful surroundings. Some decent vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast. The place was really buzzing on Saturday night, but chilled the other days. Room was good - but some minor things like crumbs in the tea tray let it down very slightly with regards to cleanliness.

Beautiful property and excellent Spa, we had a lovely couple of days in a room in the old part of the hotel, the staff cannot do enough for you and I cannot fault the service. The room was lovely and clean, warm and tastefully decorated. The food was excellent quality and well presented and the breakfast and dinners we had were lovely.

High degree of comfort and cleanliness all round. Without exception all the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Difficulty contacting hotel on return home! Messages left but no response. Still waiting.

Wonderful stay! Beautifully looked after accommodation which is of a high standard, very clean and comfortable. Spa facilities are great too. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Thank you, we will return and recommend! 🙂

Fantastic spa hotel located between Kelso and Jedburgh. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the spa is top notch with a heated outdoor pool . Make sure you check out the whisky bar ! One point to note is that the courtyard rooms share a vestibule with another room so there is the potential for a bit less privacy than in other rooms. But thats a minor note . We had a lovely stay.

All the staff without exception were first-class - attentive, professional and friendly. We stayed in a self-catering cottage which is a self-contained modern, sylish house. Only minor quibble was no air-con in cottage on a very warm night. Very impressed, would love to come back and would highly recommend.

Only a slight thing but our room was said to have a mini bar however there was only a few warm drinks on the table rather than kept in a fridge which I would not call a mini bar. Everything else in the hotel was excellent and cannot fault.

This hotel was the perfect midweek getaway for a night to get rid of the January blues. We booked a room in the estate section of the hotel which going by pictures gives you a more modern room and is situated within the extension to the hotel. The room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel. There was everything you would need in the room. I’m told by my partner the provided hairdryer is the best of any she has used at previous stays at other hotels, so bonus points there. I’m not one for Spas but my partner loves them. But even I was impressed. Outdoors there is a choice of two saunas, a heated outdoor pool and a hot tub. There’s also a plunge pool if you’re feeling brave. Indoors you have plenty of relaxation beds and you can also directly access the heated pool via a sliding door. There was plenty of towels during our visit as well as water, herbal tea and dried fruits within the Spa. We stayed on a Monday during January and there was no issues using any of the spa facilities. On a weekend you may have a bit of a wait for some of the outdoor facilities. We had dinner at Charlie’s and the food was good, a little expensive but that’s to be expected. Service was attentive and friendly. After dinner we headed to the 1745 Club/Bar which is where we spent the rest of the evening. It gives a nice cosy, warm vibe which is exactly what we needed on a cold January evening. My only negative would be the lack of a drink on arrival.

This is a lovely hotel, staff were great, food was fabulous. They have an excellent pastry chef. It’s a relaxed hotel in a quiet area. Very handy for travelling by car from Newcastle. One point, some rooms are directly above the function room and there was a wedding on when we were there. They lit fire pits which meant our room quickly filled with the smell of smoke. We had wanted our bedroom window open at night but couldn’t because of the fire pits, even when they moved them round the corner the smoke was still coming into the room. It’s also a bit noisy if you have a room above the function room as wedding guests came outside. However, the weddings stop at midnight so you can get to sleep after that.

An impressive looking property especially at night. The Concierge staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a good feel with lifts to both floors if required. The rooms are well appointed, modern and everything works well. The double shower was perfect. The spa is something else. It starts as you walk down the corridor giving you a feeling of calm with the music and smells. The staff are great, helpful and no silly rules. Once you enter the spa you experience the lovely layout and all the comfortable beds and loungers, almost spoilt for choice. The out door pool is one of the best i have experienced with two saunas a plunge pool and jacuzzi to compliment it all. Breakfast in the dinning room is very good. An excellent spread of fresh fruit, breads, cold counter and a good quality hot food. There is a chief who will make you anything to do with eggs. There are items they charge extra for which i couldn't understand. Ive never had to pay £7 for a bowl of porridge. Avocado on toast was more. They should look at scrapping them charges. We stayed at the hotel for a week but only dined in the restaurant (Charlies) on the first night. The portion sizes are simply to small. We came away still hungry. The prices even for a hotel make your eyes water. £19 for the smallest portion of cheese and biscuits i have ever had is not right. The quality and temperature of your coffee is dependent on who makes it. Still a quality hotel where would stay again

Beautiful hotel, had a lovely stay here. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Room lovely and clean, very modern. Pool and gym facilities were great. Loved the heated pool. Had a lovely breakfast, lots of options that suits all needs. Breakfast staff were polite and friendly and took our orders quickly. Beautiful grounds with fountain and a lovely swing. I was slightly worried as it was a dog friendly hotel but we did not see many dogs and any we did see were well behaved. Thankfully. Only thing I would say was the hair dryer in the room could have been a bit better, kept cutting out. But a very small detail. We had a lovely stay and will be back for sure.

We dined in Charlie’s and the food was average for the money spent, the had the beef not the quality expected for the money we paid. We bought a bottle of champagne at over hundred pounds for the waitress to pour the first glass then be told to “pour the rest yourself” unprofessional from a 5 star resorts. Other than that staff were great and breakfast was good.

We had an unannounced "turn down" service let themselves into our room at 9pm on a Sunday night. Not ideal, a bit late and no forewarning or apology. Spa was nice if a little busy. Very slow service at dinner which was not particularly busy, was so slow we didn't stick around to get desserts which was a shame because the food was good. The breakfast was good and varied and the chef at the breakfast bar was friendly and helpful making eggs how you like it, omelettes and pancakes to order. A beautiful property, stunning room but a little underwhelming with the unusual turn down service situation and inattentive waiting staff for dinner.

From check-in to check out this hotel was exceptional. The staff were helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great places to eat, great atmosphere, the room was very comfortable and spotless (even had a turn-down service) and the breakfast was wonderful. The spa experience was superb. Would definitely recommend

The hotel was very nice it’s a pity they don’t answer there phone which happened on several occasions and take many hours to respond to your message on the answer machine.Nice to see many of the staff were local and good at there job overall a very nice hotel and I would go back

I stáyed at the Schloss Roxburghe with my boyfriend as a surprise for his 40th birthday. What can i say? For beginners, from the moment you drive through the gates and jead towards the Schloss, your breath is taken away, set in beautiful surroundings, the Schloss Roxburghe looks like something from a story book! Check in was fast and easy and we were shown around so we knew whete everthing was. I booked thr kimg suite and.it.was beautiful, very spacious and comfortable and my partner.was.surprised witha lovely hand written card and a birthday message.with cake waiting in our room for him. The spa is something dreams are made of, we made use of it on the day or arrival and the morning after at 7am, the weather was beautiful so a swim in their infinity pool was the perfect way to begin our day. Breakfast was bountiful, with such a large choice. They literally have everything you could possibly want. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. From start to finish, our trip was one to remember and we cant wait to return. Thank you Schloss Roxburghe for an amazing stay. .

Lovely hotel with everything one could ask for. Stayed three nights and wouldn’t leave as the property had so much to offer for a relaxing stay in the countryside. Even has a little market for extras one may need for a snack or swimsuit for the wonderful spa.

We dined in Charlie’s and the food was average for the money spent, the had the beef not the quality expected for the money we paid. We bought a bottle of champagne at over hundred pounds for the waitress to pour the first glass then be told to “pour the rest yourself” unprofessional from a 5 star resorts. Other than that staff were great and breakfast was good.

From check-in to check out this hotel was exceptional. The staff were helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great places to eat, great atmosphere, the room was very comfortable and spotless (even had a turn-down service) and the breakfast was wonderful. The spa experience was superb. Would definitely recommend

Absolutely amazing. Such a stunning place, with great food and wonderful service. Stayed one night in one of the beautiful cottages. Had the best dessert I’ve ever had in their fine dining restaurant, and one of the best omelettes during breakfast. Will be back, and stay longer next time.

An impressive looking property especially at night. The Concierge staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a good feel with lifts to both floors if required. The rooms are well appointed, modern and everything works well. The double shower was perfect. The spa is something else. It starts as you walk down the corridor giving you a feeling of calm with the music and smells. The staff are great, helpful and no silly rules. Once you enter the spa you experience the lovely layout and all the comfortable beds and loungers, almost spoilt for choice. The out door pool is one of the best i have experienced with two saunas a plunge pool and jacuzzi to compliment it all. Breakfast in the dinning room is very good. An excellent spread of fresh fruit, breads, cold counter and a good quality hot food. There is a chief who will make you anything to do with eggs. There are items they charge extra for which i couldn't understand. Ive never had to pay £7 for a bowl of porridge. Avocado on toast was more. They should look at scrapping them charges. We stayed at the hotel for a week but only dined in the restaurant (Charlies) on the first night. The portion sizes are simply to small. We came away still hungry. The prices even for a hotel make your eyes water. £19 for the smallest portion of cheese and biscuits i have ever had is not right. The quality and temperature of your coffee is dependent on who makes it. Still a quality hotel where would stay again

We’ve stayed at Roxburghe many times in the past but it’s not the same. Since sold to the schloss and Hyatt group it has lost its charm. We will not go back and we will cherish our memories of its past charm.

Hotel was spotless and generally spectacular. Major issue was not being able to get a lounger at the spa, and when mentioned to the spa staff very little was done to help (there were many loungers not being used, and proper policing would have made this more enjoyable for all) A handful of others had the same experience. Overall, the spa overpromised and under delivered for us, but stay was otherwise flawless

Nice room (cottage rooms) good size, lounge with two bedrooms and en-suite, TV was a little confusing and the water pressure could have been better but overall very nice spot, good driving range / amenities on site and very close to Floors Castle The whiskey bar is well worth a visit, very knowledgeable staff!

When we arrived we were blown away with the setting of the hotel it has a very beautiful old woodland feel to it. Unfortunately the cottage that we had booked the tv did not work so we were promptly put into another one. We had originally booked a two bed cottage but were put into a one bed. The cottage was furnished really well but there was a layer of dust on most surfaces.The bed was firm but ok for us. The heating was very noisy and there were no instructions on how to use anything. We were given printed out pieces of paper on how to use the oven. The shower was quite cramped and leaked onto the floor. The terrace outside the cottage was nice but not at all private. I doubt that we will return here.
