Provincetown is full of over-priced lodgings but the Masthead is Not one of them. It’s a bit old and tired but very clean. It also has some wonderful views and a nice lawn overlooking the bay, and very few other places have this! It’s located in the quiet West End of town and is surrounded by charming homes. I’ll definitely return.

The room was immaculate and very comfortable. It included a small kitchen and a small deck. I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking out over the water. The only issue here is parking. Due to the nature of the location, There are limited parking spaces at the facility. There is parking available a short walk away at the Provincetown Inn, for which we were grateful. But it makes managing luggage challenging.

We stayed with another couple and enjoyed having a two bedroom suite with a nice living room, electric fireplace and kitchen. This was more fun, more comfortable and more economical than having two separate rooms. The resort is made up of a number of houses right on the beach and it would be awesome to sit on the long deck in the summer and look out at the harbor (we were here in December). We were in 41C which has a limited water view. The only things that weren't perfect - check in is at 4PM and the room wasn't ready a minute before then, and there was no dish towel nor paper towels in the kitchen. Parking is limited, but there's a town lot close by which is free in the winter. We will be happy to stay here again.

I feel privileged to be able to have a night out with my best friend to celebrate our birthdays in such a wonderful area. This place was perfect. It was beautiful and our room had a giant picture window with the most amazing view of the Wood End lighthouse. The only thing that caught me off guard was the parking. Had I known, I would have planned better (I thought I was all set but had to reserve a spot for $30 a night - and there were none left at the hotel so we had to park at the rotary). Other than that, the place was great!

I was charged $30 to park on site in a reserved parking spot. However, my vehicle didn’t fit in the spot. I additionally had to pay for public parking after driving around the block 2x. Delightful experience, very clean, in the quiet area on the west end so a bit away from 'downtown' but plenty close to walk. Resort has a portion of the beach to itself, you feel at home there, thoughtful cottage like amenities (needs, home tools, broom). I enjoyed not being imposed on as I don't like services and didn't need them. It showed that there was care and real thoughtfulness, had all the basics in decent supply, and encourages green living but doesn't force it.

Terrible. Management only communicates by text, which they never answer. Checking in was a challenge as the person went missing. Room was musty smelling, bed was very old and dented in the middle - very uncomfortable. Reading material was from the 1980's. The morning we woke up there was no water. No word from management. We checked out asking for a refund. Got Hotels.com involved they were of no help. Trying to get a refund through AMEX as I would say that no service was rendered considering no water. It's a shame as the property has a spectacular view.

Quite clean. But there are some basic things that need attention: The front curtains are So difficult to draw closed when leaving the unit for town; Replace with levelors. There is deferred maintenance that makes the unit feel a bit dated. Do a complete check. Fabulous shower and bathroom!

It was our 54th wedding anniversary. 1971 we honeymooned in PTown. I was so fortunate and delighted that we choose the Masthead. It was perfect. Beautiful location, clean, comfortable. We had a small unit, but it was perfect. I want to go there again!

Cute spot. We were to talk for the doorways in the up stairs cottage room facing commercial street. Smacked my head really hard like 3 times, they are smaller doorways. It was big tho, and the window overlooking the ocean was beautiful in the mornings. Bed was a full, so two 6 foot plus dudes didn’t fit great and it leaked thru the window above it (it was down pouring so hopefully doesn’t do that all the time). I wouldn’t stay in that specific room again but I’d be willing to try another room. All in all it was fine.

Great location for July 4th celebrations, quieter but still very convenient. Very New England feel so buildings are a little old. Everything went well overall despite staying in their hotel room with no attached bathroom--the bathroom was just a couple of doors down, and I don't think anyone else used it during my stay despite my hotel building seeming to be at full occupancy. Room was larger even than expected, especially for one person--it would have been pretty small for 2 people though (full bed). Communication with staff was polite when there was a small issue, but it was a little more bare than expected in terms of details provided.

The location is just perfect: within walking distance to the town center, but located on the beach and in a quiet neighborhood, close to restaurants and other beaches.The staff was kind and helpful, ongoing contact by sms or telephone, receptive to our needs. My wife and I chose Masthead Resort for a nice quiet getaway to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. I truly can not say enough what a great spot to escape the rat race of life and enjoy the beautiful scenery, proximity to great restaurants and shops and spend some wonderful quality time together. And I really want to mention what great friendly person at the desk that greeted us and checked us in, her name is Karen!

It is okay but not great. I didn’t see a single staff member the entire weekend. The shower was tiny but had great water pressure. The bed was comfortable but had no headboard so you couldn’t sit comfortably on it to read or watch tv. There were only two outlets in the room one had the air conditioner plugged into it and the other had the lamp, refrigerator, and coffee maker plugged into it. None were conveniently placed

I was charged $30 to park on site in a reserved parking spot. However, my vehicle didn’t fit in the spot. I additionally had to pay for public parking after driving around the block 2x. Along with that the door didn’t completely lock and I was woken up by construction the next morning. I politely texted the front desk clerk and asked for at least a refund on parking and haven’t heard back from anyone since Monday.

Loved staying at the Masthead! Staff was courteous and accommodating, the cottage was so cute and nautical themed. I only wish I could've stayed longer. If you're looking for oceanfront AND quiet in P town, this is the place to go.

Provincetown is full of over-priced lodgings but the Masthead is Not one of them. It’s a bit old and tired but very clean. It also has some wonderful views and a nice lawn overlooking the bay, and very few other places have this! It’s located in the quiet West End of town and is surrounded by charming homes. I’ll definitely return.

I feel privileged to be able to have a night out with my best friend to celebrate our birthdays in such a wonderful area. This place was perfect. It was beautiful and our room had a giant picture window with the most amazing view of the Wood End lighthouse. The only thing that caught me off guard was the parking. Had I known, I would have planned better (I thought I was all set but had to reserve a spot for $30 a night - and there were none left at the hotel so we had to park at the rotary). Other than that, the place was great!

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Provincetown. It is quiet and far out on the West End. It is however quite a walk into town. For example, Probably a 15-20 minute walk to the center And obviously further to some of the great restaurants on the East End.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Masthead. #39 is a great two floor cottage with a beautiful water view. And we saved money with the full kitchen...breakfast every morning and cooked dinner twice. And an easy walk to Victor's bistro, and Ptown's shopping area.

We stayed one night at Masthead Resort in Provincetown and really enjoyed our visit. The location is fantastic—it's within walking distance of everything, making it easy to explore town without needing to drive.
