Holiday Inn Kansas City Airport by IHG

I was in town for a wedding and checked in after 10:30 pm and checked out maybe half an hour later. This is understandably a budget hotel but it should still be clean. The towels in the bathroom were dingy and discolored , so we requested new ones and it made no difference. The bed sheets also looked like they were not changed from the previous guest. The front desk staff was pleasant enough and did not make a big deal with us checking out immediately but there should be more effort placed on housekeeping.

Was very convenient to walk to convention center for dance competition but $600-700 for 2 nights was ridiculous. I booked for 3 nights and tried to modify my stay once our schedule was released. They wouldn’t allow it but we could cancel and rebook. The price increase would have cost us the same! Price gouging at its best!

The facility was under construction, but no communication was provided beforehand regarding this. Staffing was limited which was unfortunate for them because we were there for a dance competition and the hotel was completely booked. Staff couldn't handle the volume, didn't know how to work the POS system, make drinks in the restaurant, split checks, the list goes on. Due to the construction, water was cold, toilets weren't flushing, showers weren't working, etc. Planning could have been a whole lot better.

Airport shuttle was convenient.
