I loved staying there my room was clean and large but the internet went out the second day I was there and it was spotty rest of the time. Since I’m from the states I had no carrier in London and since the internet was down I couldn’t connect to the WiFi so I couldn’t make phone calls, look up information, check facebook, or check in with my family. It was very frustrating.

The staff are so helpful and friendly. I was at an event on Saturday 13th and by coincidence there was a live band on who was very good. I ordered a drink at the bar for myself and my wife. For the rest of the night we I went to the bar I was served by Spencer, I didn't jump any ques. He remembered our two drinks and who had what. Myself and my wife have worked in a few pubs and bars over the years we appreciate the pressures in a very busy bar. He is a credit to your chain and we did let Spencer and his manager know how happy we were with his service.

Although the hotel could do with a bit of TLC we can’t fault the cleanliness, good food and friendliness of the staff, they were always cheerful and nothing was too much trouble for them . Also the bar had a great atmosphere with locals as well as guests using it and a lovely outside area/garden too.

This is an exceptionally good hotel, all the usual facilties, good free wifi, comfortable bed, good shower, excellent dining room and breakfasts with good choice of breakfast. Good restaurant within the hotel with reasonably priced meals. Staff very helpfull. The only downside was no mirror in the bathroom so had to use own small mirror to shave by.

Charming hotel. Upgraded from a single to double room. I stayed un the older part of the hotel. Unfortunately I can't seem to upload a photo. Very comfortable. Able to open the window for fresh country air all night. Ample parking. Great restaurant and bar. Staff (front of house) and restaurant were welcoming and friendly.

Perfect dog friendly hotel close to Dover and Folkestone. Staff were terrific and really helpful. Very reasonable price. Super clean room.

We have stayed here a few times and this time the visit was really disappointing. The room had numerous issues: the toilet did not flush reliably, light bulbs were out or flickering, a toiletries shelf was about to drop the toiletries onto the floor. we had to forcibly slam the room door shut in order to get it to lock, Although the Wi-Fi existed it was essentially worthless and unusable.

The hotel is well located on the way to/from the Eurotunnel. The M20 can be reached quickly. There is also plenty of free parking. The room we booked was quiet, clean and spacious. The room was freezing and took hours to warm up. The staff were kind enough to supply us with extra bedding, which was good of them. The room was rather run down along with an en-suite which had dripping condensation from an above mouldy skylight window which made the floor wet (there was a notice about this to warn about slipping) but it wasn’t pleasant walking on a damp floor with bare feet. Neither myself or my friend wanted to use the shower. The bed, bedding and towels were clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good but I had snotty poached eggs and burnt toast (on the underside so I didn’t see it I guess) which wasn’t pleasant. The rest of the breakfast was good and we had a lovely dinner the night before but it was cold in the restaurant, especially after being in a freezing cold room. I understand the cost of heating nowadays but it wasn’t an overall comfortable stay because of that. The place needs updating but the staff were really good!

The hotel is very dated, carpets fraying, wall paper peeling off and the furniture in the rooms must be at least 25 years old. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but this is lost on you as you realise how badly this hotel needs some money spent on it.

The room was nice, although walking across the room was very noisy, and very loud creeking with every step, could hear others moving around through the night to, which kept waking me up. The building can do with being upgraded as alot of old windows etc look tatty and chipped, floors far to creeky. Overpriced for a room that is so noisy and smelt of damp. Im a busy working mum who rarly gets time to myself, and very little sleep at home, not the relaxing me time i had hoped for, the very loud creeky floors made it impossible to sleep through. Alot of money for a room that is very noisy and not the relaxing time i had hoped for.

The hotel overall is fine. Its in need of outside maintenance like painting outside very shabby and windows rotting The tv in the room was too small for ghe size of the room and the windows lolled likevthey havent been cleaned for years.

Breakfast was included in the rate, but the dining staff told me it wasn’t. There was nobody on Reception when we left to leave feedback with. Hardly good value for money.

One night stay on way to get the Shuttle. Friendly staff, clean and tidy. Lovely hot water for showering. Comfortable bed. Good food. Excellent price for one nights stay. Only downside is the floor creaked badly in the bedroom and everything looked a little bit tired and dated. But all in all was a good stay, Ideal for what we wanted.

Very nice hotel with pub facilities...live music on Friday night was a treat... Only downfall was our room which was very nice but above it must have been staff quarters which were very noisy....mainly floorboards that squeaked really loud Great location for visiting attractions in the area

Ok stay the room was nice but the bathroom was cold and the shower was useless. It was freezing cold then burning hot and there was no power. The shower curtain hadn’t been fitted properly so would stick to you. Extremely thin walls and the door you had to slam to close therefore we got woken everytime someone came in. There was a live band on in the pub and it was super loud you could hear it word for word and couldn’t hear the tv over it. This should have been mentioned at the time of booking and then we could have booked elsewhere.

The room a bit old and outdated, but it worked, but for less money, I have stayed at a bigger chain, which also has Aircon, We had what seemed to be kitchen vents directly outside the windows, Unsure how they even rent this room, one of the downlights were flickering all night, it isn't staffed after 10, in the late morning just before 12, tried to find someone to talk to this about, but spent about 10-15 minutes looking for someone, found a contractor looking into the ceiling, nothing more, eventually as I was about to give up I found someone just about to start, explained my issue and told my room number, was already running late, expected to come back to the bulb at least changed, but nothing was done, leaving in the AM, and no one around to even discuss this with, I probably wouldn't stay again due to this to be honest, Wifi was terrible <2mb.

The hotel room was fine, very clean. The only real complaint was the 10:30am check out - Urghh way too early. I wouldn’t have stayed here if I’d realized that. I know a lot of other people complained about the noisy floors, but literally every footstep that was taken —the floorboards creaked badly.

I always take into consideration the circumstances when reviewing a hotel and this hotel very much fits this. The room was very comfortable though the walls were a little thin. The menu provided simple pub style food but unlike many similar establishments was reasonably priced. Here it very much fitted the cliche, you get what you paid for. And the staff in the bar although obviously stretched were always very helpful and with a smile. Breakfast to be honest was a little shambolic and my English mustard was French, but it was Christmas Eve and one poor man appeared to be doing everything including reception, so all can be forgiven

Great location, ready for crossing on the Channel Tunnel next morning. Beautiful gardens, good food, very nice room. I hadn't realised there was no lift, but the friendly staff helped us with our suitcases 👍

We never got to stay at this property. We had some unforeseen circumstances and had to check-in late. We called the property thrice to make sure we can checkin late and they kept reassuring us that they will send us instructions to do a self check-in after hours. We drove there for 2 hours only to realize they neither sent us the instructions or were available to check us in (we had no network on our phones to ensure mid way if they sent us the instructions). We could have easily returned home instead of driving all the way. It was just reckless on their part to not clearly communicate with us. We had to run around in the middle of the night to find an alternate hotel since it's the long weekend. We luckily found one after trying a handful but it was three times the price. We already paid for The Conningbrook so we ended up paying 4 times the original price.

The decor in the room and corridors was looking very tired. However, this was more than made up for by the friendly, attentive and customer focused staff. One minor issue we had was rectified immediately and without hesitation. We would like to extend a special thanks to Lizzy, who served us our evening meal and breakfast the next morning. She was genuinely interested in our onward trip and the reasons behind it. I have only mentioned Lizzy by name because we didn’t get to find out the names of anyone else, but every member of staff we had interaction with, seemed to have a genuine desire to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. So, if you are the owner of this hotel, keep up your current staff training and hold on to your current staff. Don’t worry about your peeling paintwork. One small point, a couple of parking spaces with tarmac or similar would be good, for motorbikes. The gravel is not easy to negotiate with a heavy, loaded bike.

we only used this as a nights sleep before getting up at 6am for the eurotunnel, for this it was perfect being only a 10 ish minute drive. the car park was massive, the place itself was big but didnt do anything but grab a pint and sleep here, the check in closes at 10pm and we made it with 15 mins to spare but they did call to make sure we was still coming. from what i saw they had a decent food/drink menu and a carvery, big back garden. i imaghine this place is nice in the summer. easy to find

Traveling to France with our two dogs we stopped overnight at The Conningbrook Hotel to break up the journey. Room was clean and comfortable. Large Garden to be able to let the dogs stretch their legs after the drive. Good food and drink in the evening with Live Music. Short drive the next morning to Le Shuttle for the onward journey.

Charming hotel. Upgraded from a single to double room. I stayed un the older part of the hotel. Unfortunately I can't seem to upload a photo. Very comfortable. Able to open the window for fresh country air all night. Ample parking. Great restaurant and bar. Staff (front of house) and restaurant were welcoming and friendly.

The hotel is well located on the way to/from the Eurotunnel. The M20 can be reached quickly. There is also plenty of free parking. The room we booked was quiet, clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. There was a bathroom and also an electric kettle. The staff was friendly and helpful. Special requests at breakfast were catered for. There was an English breakfast with a choice of dishes. Dinner in the restaurant was also good.

I always take into consideration the circumstances when reviewing a hotel and this hotel very much fits this. The room was very comfortable though the walls were a little thin. The menu provided simple pub style food but unlike many similar establishments was reasonably priced. Here it very much fitted the cliche, you get what you paid for. The staff were friendly and welcoming. However the building and rooms have seen better days making it hard to keep super clean. It was good for one night and served its purpose especially being dog friendly in all areas. The food in the restaurant was very nice if for me too small a portion of ravioli. Breakfast was also great.

This is an exceptionally good hotel, all the usual facilties, good free wifi, comfortable bed, good shower, excellent dining room and breakfasts with good choice of breakfast. Good restaurant within the hotel with reasonably priced meals. Staff very helpfull. The only downside was no mirror in the bathroom so had to use own small mirror to shave by.

All fine. Restaurant had several items missing from the menu at the beginning of the evening. Staff were trained for the bar. The room was a bit tired looking, but functional and clean. The bed was comfortable.

Assistant manager was lovely and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. The big garden and room 41, were excellent. They had a really strange rule about eating outside. If you want to order food outside and you want a dessert for after your main; you have to have your dessert at the same time as your main! If you want to sit outside, they will bring your ice cream out with your fish and chips. There was only our ‘table of 3’ eating outside, but they insisted that my 6 year old would get his ice cream with his chicken nuggets….unless we moved inside (5 metres away). So instead of enjoying the sunshine. We had to go inside to eat! Wow. Really strange.

I arrived very early so used the public toilets attached to the pub area. It was 11am. The gents was awful . Both cubicles were filthy. No toilet brushes were available although I think even they would not remove the filth. No paper in either cubicle. General Toilet area horrible. My single room was very clean. The bathroom was tiny and a larger person would struggle ( it was a single room). The large mirror is powerful and over hangs the very narrow sink. This it is impossible not to soil the floor when shaving and cleaning your teeth. Quite unpleasant. Nice touch of house keeping leaving a note and the radio being on when you entered the room.

I found the hotel to be very poorly run overall. We stayed there on a Friday night in the summer and there were 3 staff in the whole place. They were lovely and very helpful but they were run off their feet having to do multiple jobs each. There was a 20 minute wait at the bar to get a drink, and when we tried to order food as well we were told that the kitchen had shut temporarily and we needed to come back to order food in 10 mins. I gagged when I got to our room, the smell of wet dog was overwhelming. The bed did seem clean though. When we got to breakfast the next morning there were a lot of gaps in the buffet and 1 staff member running the whole thing, I wouldn't have been surprised if he was also the chef. He didn't get round to getting us our coffee as he was too busy clearing tables, and trying to restock the buffet. It was a complete shambles in my opinion and I would not recommend it at all.
