The Meridian lives up to the high standards of a Marriott hotel. It’s a large resort located along the river providing nice views for most rooms. We had a suite that was modern, spacious, and comfortable. Check-in was smooth and easy – even when we identified a complication with the reservation. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive offering various American, European, and Asian selections. Service at all the restaurants varied between above average and excellent. Additionally, the hotel offered special activities for guest participation if desired. Wifi was solid, water pressure was a bit weak but hot enough, and the furniture comfortable. Lastly, it had a good location for getting to places in the local area.

The location and grounds around the giant rain trees. The size, style and cleanliness of the room, the breakfast and most of all the amazing staff. The lady that checked us in and took us to our room, the front desk and bell staff, the restaurant staff were all top notch. Although Marriott owns the hotel you get Asian style friendliness and service vs. the "service" you get from Marriott in the US. The the hotel was obviously designed and built before Marriott got involved. The front desk staff set us up with some great drivers/guides that drove all around the amazing region. Although it is a quiet river setting you are only minutes from town via TukTuk or private car. The fare to the airport about $2.50 and although the airport is close, flight noise was not an issue. Even at resort prices which probably double the in town prices food and drink were delicious and still much less than what you would pay for average food in the US. We stayed a few extra days and were upgraded from the normal mega room to the super mega room. The contemporary style is out of Architectural Digest and unlike some even 5 star room there were no rough edges or signs of wear in our room. The 3 level infinity pool with the infinity river lagoon pool and then the river with all the landscaping. You need to visit there to appreciate the design, attention to detail and superb maintenance. Even the maintenance stop there work to greet you. DON"T LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE IN CHIANG RAE!

Excellent location near the river, beautiful and clean hotel. Bathroom has no mildew and white grouting . I’m very impressed and will be back again. I loved the happy hours all stages are very nice and politely well manners. Definitely the must stayed hotel in Chiang rai

Grande e comodo resort, non nuovo ma ben tenuto, affacciato sul fiume in stile thailandese. Piscina a sfioro e giardini ben curati con vasche e laghetti. Buona colazione (solo i croissant un po’ secchi) e cena al ristorante principale, ottimo il ristorante italiano. Personale molto cortese e ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Qualche malinteso rispetto alla prenotazione fatta con Expedia, poi chiarito al meglio.

I stayed for three nights and Le Meridien was an excellent base for exploring Chiang Rai by bike. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean, the grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, and the breakfast buffet was superb. The staff were friendly, attentive, and polite throughout, and early check-in was a real bonus - my room was ready well before the official time. It’s a little outside the centre, but taxis are easy and inexpensive (around 80 THB), and the peaceful setting more than makes up for it. I’d happily stay here again.

良かった所:飛行機が朝の便だった為チェックイン時間より早く着いてしまったが何も言わなくても当然のようにチェックイン手続きをしていもらったのが良かった。フロントスタッフは笑顔で迎えてくれ、非常に印象が良かった。敷地が広く自然に囲まれ、解放感があり居心地がよかった。 プールも綺麗に手入れされていた。 朝食ではフルーツで好きなジュースを作ってくれたのが良かった。 部屋は広くスーツケース２個並べて広げても問題なかった。 悪かった所:バスタブにゴミなどが付いておりざらざらとしていて汚なかったので一度お湯で流してから使用した。 夜、部屋の前の池にカエルおり、鳴き声がうるさかった。カエルがいなければとても静かに眠れたと思うので残念。

We have paid for the pool view room but the 2nd room we were given was blocked my two pillars… first room was difficult to stay with the sewage smell so we had to change to room on our second day. Although the gestures of goodwill was nice but we weren’t content with the second room either.

They claim to be doing pest control, but was shocked and terrified to see a number of lizards outside the rooms after dusk. Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Noticed cobwebs inside the room. Mosquitoes inside room, but they provided mat which you could turn on. Breakfast options reasonable, but was put off by the bugs and flies buzzing around the food. Expected a premium experience, but was disappointed.

Although it is a quiet river setting you are only minutes from town via TukTuk or private car. The fare to the airport about $2.50 and although the airport is close, flight noise was not an issue. Even at resort prices which probably double the in town prices food and drink were delicious and still much less than what you would pay for average food in the US. We stayed a few extra days and were upgraded from the normal mega room to the super mega room. The contemporary style is out of Architectural Digest and unlike some even 5 star room there were no rough edges or signs of wear in our room. The 3 level infinity pool with the infinity river lagoon pool and then the river with all the landscaping. You need to visit there to appreciate the design, attention to detail and superb maintenance. Even the maintenance stop there work to greet you. DON"T LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE IN CHIANG RAE!

We have paid for the pool view room but the 2nd room we were given was blocked my two pillars… first room was difficult to stay with the sewage smell so we had to change to room on our second day. Although the gestures of goodwill was nice but we weren’t content with the second room either.

We stayed at the Meridien in Chiang Rai for 6 nights over NYE. The resort is beautiful and really well maintained. The service in bars and restaurants friendly and efficient. The hotel pool was lovely if a bit cold. Our room was large and quiet being away from the central areas which we really liked. We enjoyed the NYE gala which had live music, an international buffet and fireworks. We we went on a few private tours the hotel arranged or recommended which were great and we really enjoyed. Only negative is the hotel is quite far out from town so you need to catch Grab taxis everywhere but this was fine as very cheap and reliable. The hotel also uses this service which was great. Overall we had a great, enjoyable stay at the hotel and would recommend to anyone travelling to the area.

I stayed for three nights and Le Meridien was an excellent base for exploring Chiang Rai by bike. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean, the grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, and the breakfast buffet was superb. The staff were friendly, attentive, and polite throughout, and early check-in was a real bonus - my room was ready well before the official time. It’s a little outside the centre, but taxis are easy and inexpensive (around 80 THB), and the peaceful setting more than makes up for it. I’d happily stay here again.

A quiet, peaceful location - 5 minute Grab or Tuk-Tuk ride to Central Chaing Rai. Thai restaurant on site was superb. We did not eat at the Italian restaurant on site.

Unfortunately this hotel is showing its age and really could do with a major refurbishment. Having said that, the staff are great and the beds are comfortable. We booked a premium room but to be honest it did not feel that premium. For example instant coffee and powered milk is not quite what you would expect. The Italian restaurant was actually quite good, unlike the Thai restaurant which was average at best.
