What a wonderful place to stay! The lodge we stayed in was perfectly suited to us. Loved the veranda and the table and chairs so we could sit outside in the evening with a view across the lawn and to the trees. Breakfast was a feast - only disappointment was that we were only there for one night. We plan to return and stay for longer next time.

Only stayed one night, as just passing through. Super friendly staff (who turned out to be the owners) Excellent food! Easy parking, off the main road. Lovely and quiet. Stunning property. Superb location. Stayed in the annex, which was ok, but a bit tired.....

Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. Very quiet. Check that bar/restaurant are open, should you want to use them, although the village does have a couple of pubs.

We had a log cabin in the garden as we had our dog. Good king bed and the gardens were lovely and peaceful. Lovely walk across The fields in the morning for the dog.

The room was a bit tired and the bathroom had a toilet leak didn’t complain as only stayed one night! Did mention it the next morning. Saying that the bed was comfortable and the room clean and a decent size. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Really good evening meal and equally good breakfast. Day 2 returned from my day of stuff to find the places locked up no staff lights off. Ended up going to tescos to grab something to eat.

We stayed for just one night. Booked as an emergency on a budget and weren't disappointed. The room, although quite small, was clean, had a comfortable bed, a little bathroom and all the usual basics, ie tv, coffee making facilities with a nice selection and even a microwave. The location is very quiet, so we had a good night's sleep. Can't comment on bar and restaurant as we didn't have breakfast or dinner there, but opted for a pub 1mile down the road. Will stay there again.

We stayed in one of the Cabins - really pleasant to sit outside and have a drink looking at the gardens. Someone had so obviously been smoking inside there though, the smell of stale tobacco hit us as soon as we got in. The decor is tired and a bit sparse in there but overall we did enjoy it! Staff are great and it’s lovely and quiet.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was nice. The grounds were lovely and the exterior of the building is beautiful but the interior has been left to deteriorate. Decor feels old and unloved. We rented a garden cabin. The door was battered, the carpet stained. The whole place feels tired. It is a shame as it has great potential but we feel the hotel should not be charging full price until it has undergone a refurbishment and refresh. We were disappointed with the state of the room and dining room.

Low stress overnight trip. We took a chance on an early check in and the team were calm and relaxed and were very helpful, we booked breakfast which was superb value and utterly delicious- great veggie breakfast and good coffee and extras available. We stayed in a lodge room, which was perfectly adequate- comfy bed and free WiFi. A few areas to improve from a decorative point of view but a good value and relaxing stay.

On arrival had a small issue which was met with a rude and blunt response demonstrating shoddy customer service I was looked up and down by the manger and immediately informed I had to pay a cost holding on the room, when asked why , simply told to google it as this is policy Never have I been spoke to line this and honestly I held back and remained professional unlike these two I met Shocking service Shower poor Toilet took seceral flushes after using WiFi absolutely shocking slow when I tested on google speed test and unable to carry out work It’s a Christmas card, looks nice but nothing inside Be warned

This hotel was ok, but needs quite a lot of TLC! The rooms are looking very tired, and there was quite a major leak in the roof when I stayed. The food options in the dining room were good though, and the staff were friendly (when you could find someone!).

The hotel is down a very narrow road and satnav actually tried to direct me into a private residence entrance before reaching the hotel. Take care leaving or joining the main road the line of sight both ways is dangerously restricted. The staff were unfriendly, unwelcoming and sullen, giving the impression that they did not enjoy their jobs. I had booked a double room, which turned out to be a very small room, with a double bed pushed up against the wall on one side. The shower was so cramped I had to open the door to be able to spread my arms out to dry myself. The body wash tubes provided in the shower room were empty. Breakfast was not worth £13. The waitress was surly, it felt like she was doing me a huge favour taking my order and resented even being there. I got no response to my polite greeting. The tables were not preset, despite the fact that I had booked and paid for the meal the night before. So the waitress clattered and dumped items on the table setting it in front of me. I asked for some fruit and was given 3 thinly sliced strawberries arranged on a plate. I could not eat the scrambled egg it tasted like flour had been added and was not cooked properly. I enjoyed the toast which was nice and hot! Conclusion: I will not stay there again.

Great place run by a lovely couple. The only complaint was the shower had very bad water pressure but it’s an old place, so you expect such. It had a bath, so you can just plan on doing that if you want a better experience.

Sadly despite informing Hotel of arriving late I was refused my booking, In a hurry I forgot my cards & the attitude of staff was Utterly Unbelievable, I am a respectable lady of senior years also diabetic. Only visiting to lecture at nearby college next day. I asked if he would phone my husband to confirm bank details were same as booking. 3 hours drive from home late on a wet night I was forced to sleep in my car with only a jacket for bedding, Utterly Disgusted & considering Trading standards etc

We stayed at this property as it is nearby family who we were visiting. The hotel is beautiful and well presented, our two rooms were comfortable and had everything needed for a stay. We enjoyed the character and lovely features of the hotel. The two staff members we met were both very polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in the quiet dining area and we both enjoyed our meals. Easy to find and parking was easy too. Will definitely be booking again - many thanks 😊

I asked for some fruit and was given 3 thinly sliced strawberries arranged on a plate. I could not eat the scrambled egg it tasted like flour had been added and was not cooked properly. I enjoyed the toast which was nice and hot! Conclusion: I will not stay there again.

We stayed for just one night. Booked as an emergency on a budget and weren't disappointed. The room, although quite small, was clean, had a comfortable bed, a little bathroom and all the usual basics, ie tv, coffee making facilities with a nice selection and even a microwave. The location is very quiet, so we had a good night's sleep. Can't comment on bar and restaurant as we didn't have breakfast or dinner there, but opted for a pub 1mile down the road. Will stay there again.

I love staying here. The view from the lodge is great and staff are wonderful. My only issue this visit was the lack of light in the car park. We arrived in the dark and couldn’t really see to get luggage out of the car and needed to use a torch to get to our room, which was in an lodge (by choice) and not part of the main building. Other than that it was great!

Only stayed one night, as just passing through. Super friendly staff (who turned out to be the owners) Excellent food! Easy parking, off the main road. Lovely and quiet. Stunning property. Superb location. Stayed in the annex, which was ok, but a bit tired.....

A lovely quiet secluded gem of a place. Nothing too much trouble for the lovely couple running the Grange for the past 18 years. Facilities wise bed was super comfy, room clean, the generous sized bathroom needs a bit of a revamp but doesn't affect use (shower screen and windows). Food was delish and homecooked. A relaxing atmosphere and a peaceful 3 night stay.

Low stress overnight trip. We took a chance on an early check in and the team were calm and relaxed and were very helpful, we booked breakfast which was superb value and utterly delicious- great veggie breakfast and good coffee and extras available. We stayed in a lodge room, which was perfectly adequate- comfy bed and free WiFi. A few areas to improve from a decorative point of view but a good value and relaxing stay.

Very nice spacy room with big bathroom and large bed. Lovely lounge and dining room. We were lucky to have been able to get a table for 6.45pm as the restaurant was fully booked on that Monday. The food were big portions and was very delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Really good evening meal and equally good breakfast. Day 2 returned from my day of stuff to find the places locked up no staff lights off. Ended up going to tescos to grab something to eat.

The hotel is down a very narrow road and satnav actually tried to direct me into a private residence entrance before reaching the hotel. Take care leaving or joining the main road the line of sight both ways is dangerously restricted. The staff were unfriendly, unwelcoming and sullen, giving the impression that they did not enjoy their jobs. I had booked a double room, which turned out to be a very small room, with a double bed pushed up against the wall on one side. The shower was so cramped I had to open the door to be able to spread my arms out to dry myself. The body wash tubes provided in the shower room were empty. Breakfast was not worth £13. The waitress was surly, it felt like she was doing me a huge favour taking my order and resented even being there. I got no response to my polite greeting. The tables were not preset, despite the fact that I had booked and paid for the meal the night before. So the waitress clattered and dumped items on the table setting it in front of me. The staff went above and beyond when my son got sick. We were moved to an alternative room with air conditioning which made a huge difference. Really friendly and kind.

Stayed for one night. Top floor room. Spacious and clean. Big comfy bed. Didn't have breakfast. Did have a few drinks and delicious homemade authentic curry off the extensive food menu. Nice quiet location. Plenty of free parking. Friendly helpful staff. Would stay here again.

I didn't feel that the breakfast justified the £13 price, so I probably wouldn't choose that again. The restaurant prices were about what I'd expect for a decent pub meal, and the pie was absolutely delicious – easily the highlight of the food for me. One downside was that the bar and seating area, which was the only comfortable place to sit and do some work on my laptop, closed at 9:30 pm. After that, there was nowhere suitable to work or socialise other than outside, the reception area, or returning to the room. The reception area wasn't really practical for working, and the room itself only had a small table, making it less suitable as a workspace. As a result, once the bar closed, you were effectively confined to your room for the rest of the evening. Would I stay there again? Possibly, if there were no better alternatives available, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

I was given room 7 very small with a sloping roof in more than one place, shower flooded as drainage was very poor, door into bathroom hit sink as you opened it, and it was a tiny sink, toilet felt like you were in a cupboard, all in all it just was not nice at all, when I asked for another room £70 was what extra I would have to pay. The whole of the so called hotel was totally out dated, extension cables in the room running 4 items off it. View from room window see photo. Will not be staying there again.

The room was clean, but dated. The staff were friendly and very helpful We didn't have breakfast there, but only because we had other arrangements. We did have dinner the three nights we stayed, all of the meals were excellent and well presented. Parking was not a problem, enough space for all guests and staff. The hotel is an old property that oozes character and the garden is quiet and relaxing. The room we had does need some tlc to be honest, but for 3 nights it was acceptable.
