Oasis Inn Apartments

We stayed here for 5 nights in total, very comfortable beds and size of the rooms were good, about 30 mini walk into cairns city centre or there was a bus stop right outside but we didn’t realise you need cash for the buses so we walk most days, there were bikes to hire so we did that one evening which was great, the guy on reception was very helpful and friendly even held our bags for us while we went away on a trip for the night. We loved having the pool and used it twice for pool days which was great, there were bbq around the pools so you could do bbq, overall our stay was great

Staff friendly and helpful. Made to feel very welcome. Pool is great. Self contained for a lengthy stay, very convenient.

Very convenient for hospital visiting. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Good to have lock-up carpark. Generally the building and rooms need updating. Old and tired.

Was a nice stay and great pool for the kids to dip n swim about in. Comfy beds and met all our needs.

Good condition for the age. Basically you get what you pay for. We enjoyed our stay for 9 days.The pool was warm and refreshing in the hot and humid climate.

The management were more than helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious and of good upkeep. The grounds were well kept and the swimming pool clean and maintained. Just a few steps to the bus stops and shops. Only thing that needs attention in the studio apartment we had, was that the bathroom and shower were in need of renewal.

Separate bedroom, full kitchen, friendly management and not crowded. Good pool area to relax in after day out with electric barbecue for use. Great value. A classic, not a modern tower. Two levels with nice vista. All rooms open onto a wide veranda that face the central pool with garden and palm tree surrounds.

This hotel suited our needs. It was clean, in a good location, had plenty of useful amenities, had a great pool and friendly staff. However, if you are looking for flash....this is not the place. It is very tired and probably needs an upgrade. If you are looking for a safe, basic place to stay with a BBQ area and pool then this place is okey. We would probably stay again if ever we are back in Cairns.

The floor was wet upon arrival, there was a plastic suction bath mat covering 4 broken tiles which looked like no one had cleaned in weeks! The doona cover was stained and damp. Upon pulling down the blankets there was what looked to be pubic hair, hair and/or facial hair between the sheets. I didn’t even stay or ask for money back as I was that disgusted and mortified, I also felt like the owner knew exactly why I was leaving as he rolled his eyes when I returned the keys! For $120 you expect a clean bed to stay in! Highly disappointed and won’t be recommending to anyone.

Door locks do not work, subject to police advise that property was unsafe to stay at, so we moved to another hotel at great expense. Property was old and dirty and did not comply with it's rating as a 4 star hotel. So far we have been unable to recover our payment and will soon have to take legal action against Expedia as Hotel will not make the refund.It has major aboriginal drunkenness and violence and we were advised by the manager that we could not go out at night etc Totally unsuitable to stay at.

Located on busy Sheridan Street, there was a lot of passing traffic noise. The apartment was comfortable and clean, but the shower tap dripped and the floor of the shower recess needed deep cleaning to remove built-up stains. The bed-side electric clock supplied had no supplied 9V battery, so that when it was turned off, the clock had to be reset. Power points were not well located in the lounge room, so electronic devices had to be recharged either in the bathroom or using air conditioning power plugs.

On arrival I thought it was a bit dated but the rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and safe. Stayed for 7 days and had a very comfortable experience. Facilities are good and I would stay there again.

The management were more than helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious and of good upkeep. The grounds were well kept and the swimming pool clean and maintained. Just a few steps to the bus stops and shops. Only thing that needs attention in the studio apartment we had, was that the bathroom and shower were in need of renewal.

Property was very clean and tidy. Friendly, the only thing I would say is get new beds. It was not very comfortable.

This hotel suited our needs. It was clean, in a good location, had plenty of useful amenities, had a great pool and friendly staff. However, if you are looking for flash....this is not the place. It is very tired and probably needs an upgrade. If you are looking for a safe, basic place to stay with a BBQ area and pool then this place is okey. A basic motel room, a bit dated , good for one nights stay but road noise awful , plus on flight path to Cairns international airport.

Room noisy next to Highway but not soundproof. Bed was small, hard with only 1 pillow that was cheap, lumpy and nasty. People partied all night on the street below. Never again

The Oasis Inn is much the same as any motel in this category, a big plus is a landscaped pool area. A minus point is noise from the road as had to be expected, and from the air ( the motel is in the flightpath of Cairns airport) . Wi Fi in room is poor, outside ok !

Old property, neglected, ripped curtains. No aircon in the lounge and kitchen.

Check in was without a hitch and quite quick. Mike and reception were very friendly and the pool was very refreshing. Room was comfortable except for the double bed, I find it a little small for a couple but that may be because I am used to sleeping in a king size bed at home.

Likes: Well for starters I didn’t book my motel room my wife did as I was out at work, however seeing as though I don’t know cairns this motel is 2 km away from the main features (I had a bucks night to attend it was a very long walk), like the esplanade etc but there are fuel stations and shops close by. They do have secure parking that can only be accessed by PIN code which is an awesome feature especially since I had only purchased a new car. Dislikes: 1: I came home at 12 am from a bucks night went to the toilet had only quarter roll of toilet paper and no other rolls in the room and I didn’t want to wake the property owners at 12 am for toilet paper 2: Try and get a room on the top level as the bottom levels are noisey as 3: The parking bays need to be upgraded very little room to open doors etc 4: Air-conditioners need to be upgraded to split systems the room I had had a box air conditioner although it was remotely controlled. 5: Since the motel is on the main highway it is very noisy with traffic so if you’re a light sleeper like me then this motel isn’t for you. 6: The only other dislike I had was that the payment for the room came out of my bank account a week prior to staying there so I sort of locks you in even if you want to cancel and go somewhere else. And that’s all that is basically what I disliked about the property the property owners are very polite, and the grounds are kept clean etc
