Super 8 by Wyndham Richmond

I like this Super 8 location very much. Having an accessible room helps a lot. One note, because I tend to check in after normal hours, I stand in a vestibule while the attendant is in the warmth of the lobby. The temperature outside on this night was 22F. Maybe a heater in the vestibule would be warranted.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had 2 rooms and needed them to be close together. Also we needed to be on the ground floor due to mobility and wheelchair access. They met all our expectations.

I stayed at the Super 8 in Richmond, KY for three days across the Labor Day Holiday. The property is most obviously an older one that could use a renovation, but the furniture and fixtures in my room were - although a bit worn - completely serviceable and worked well (A/C and refrigerator were cold, clock, microwave and TV worked, etc.). I was in an ADA compliant room on the first floor. The bed was SUPER comfortable and was provisioned with clean sheets and five soft and firm pillows. Water pressure in the toilet, shower and sink were all excellent, and there was plenty of hot water! Drains were effective without issues, and though the outside of the property was well lit, the blackout privacy curtains kept the room dark and comfortable for sleeping. The hotel has free Wi-Fi which was more than capable fast internet and streaming services in HD. The staff - from the front desk to housekeeping - were all friendly and accommodating and always willing to provide fresh towels or other needs simply for the asking. There were only a couple of negatives - (1) there is no in-room coffeemaker or iron; bought a $20 Keurig knockoff at Walmart (didn't need an iron). (2) The room - freshly cleaned before I arrived - overwhelmed with the smell of harsh bleach chemicals that burned my nose and eyes for several hours - could be a problem for people with respiratory/retinal problems in an ADA room - perhaps priority cleaning of ADA rooms would help. Overall would definitely book again!

Nice staff here rooms are not the best in class but they are good enough for an overnight stay pets cost 20 bucks per pet

The whole property was well kept up and nice to stay at.

wasn't worried about my car bc security was present. girl at the desk was very helpful also.. room was clean and nice.

Excellent value. The room had everything that you would need and a very well organized layout. Excellent bathroom with two grab bars, shower mat for the tub to prevent any slips and quiet ventilation system, no noisy fan to deal with when having a shower.

The room i stayed in was very unclean unhealthy, there was fleas all over the beds, the air conditioning was not working properly the bed covers were very dirty i had to use my own blankets. I really didn't enjoy my stay.

Just stopped for an overnight stay. Disappointed that we found a cockroach in our room when we woke up the next morning.

It had two beautifully made beds with fantastic pillows and wonderful mattresses ——unfortunately, those terrific beds were overshadowed by a very sticky, dirty-feeling floor and the shower/shower curtain was deplorable (hairs and horrible mold smell)……it had a beautiful sink….so, it’s a drag to have such good things and then drop the ball with the others…..overall a 3/5….could’ve been a 5/5 bud they need to be much better in cleaning the bathroom/floors.

I believe this was the cleanest and friendliest Super 8 we have ever stayed at. It went above what I expected for the price we paid. Staff was friendly, parking lot was clean and not ran down (first impressions matter), no weird smells in the hotel lobby or room, the bathroom was immaculate for what I expect at a cheaper hotel. My clean freak wife approved of the cleanliness of the hotel but especially the stairs and corners of the room (she checks odd places lol) The bed was comfortable for me (a stomach sleeper.) Checking in and out was super easy as well. If we’re in the area again, we will definitely stay here. I recommend it.

Clean room

We booked 2 rooms for a stop over while travelling through. One room had long black strands of hair between the bed sheets in a small clump, and the other room had various strands of hair in the tub. Both rooms smelled badly. The beds were comfortable and the staff was nice, but I would not recommend. We stayed for 6 hours only because we were all so tired after driving 12 hours.

A good, basic place to stay. It could use to be updated, but I was impressed by how clean and well maintained it is for the very reasonable price.

Sheets were stained, we went and bought sheets from Mijers. Hall ways smelled of dog pee.. was pretty bad

Rooms not well insulated. Noice from other rooms. Rooms dirty:; look at the grime on hairdryer, lamps. Almost checked out and went somewhere else but that's a hassle when tired from traveling. At least the sheets looked clean.

They charge a security deposit and you have to wait 2-3 days to get it back. Floors were warped, seemed to be damp. The wooden planks were not lining up correctly on floor which makes me believe the floors have water damaged. Smelled damp.

No air conditioner all night had to go to another hotel.

The room was really small and outdated.

If you didn’t look too close at first glance it appeared to have some recent renovations but these were just a coat of paint over an old and tired building. The room never got cold even though I cranked the a/c down. There was a very loud air purifier in the room that we turned off for bedtime but then you could tell they were trying to cover up that it used to be a smoking room. Overall it wasn't too terrible but definitely not worth all the high ratings given.

It was pretty good stay except for the noise it kept us up about all night

Tv does not work. When brought up to front desk was told “guess you don’t get to watch tv.”

Very accessible off of Interstate and Cracker Barrel nearby. What more could you ask for. Very pleasant front desk experience at check-in.

I had 2 rooms. They ran my credit card for $60 for each room for incidentals, but the charges posted to my account after 7 business days. I called and they said they had removed the charges, but I had to dispute to get my money back. I would say it is bordering on scam/thievery. Hotel was rundown, but rooms were clean.

11pm Check-in clerks were quiet inhospitable. No smile, no hello, nothing welcoming or pleasant. Room is an expected Super 8 room. Not the cleanest but not horrible.

Right off of freeway.

We stopped for a night and was happy with the location and quality of the hotel. The staff were all very friendly with good recommendations of local restaurants. Room was clean and served it's purpose of sleep and quiet. Breakfast was very average but what do you want for a one night stay.... We would stay again,

Good location with easy access. If you’re looking for a place to sleep for the night this hotel will do. Appreciate the efforts to be green. I had requested a first floor room if there was no elevator. The woman who checked me in, apparently, did not notice that and gave me a second floor room, which was very hard for my elderly dog to access. This made our Cummings and going very difficult. Simple breakfast was OK. Could have been cleaner. Appreciate the pet friendliness.

Felt a little unsafe people seemed just to wander around outside

Perhaps the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. We cut our trip short because we felt unsafe. Vagrants in the parking lot drinking beer, grifter trying to con me at the back door. Signs asking no loitering and glass walled reception desk prove this is not an isolated incident. Property is old and outdated. Desk had paint or nail polish all over it. Do not stay here.

Pleasantly surprised. Room was clean. The staff were extremely friendly. It was very quiet and I got a good night of rest in a comfortable bed. Convenient location right off the interstate. A good value when you just need the basics.

Location was great and quiet

A convenient location to stay on our roadtrip. Close to the Interstate but couldn't hear any traffic noise. Bed was firm and comfortable, with multiple choices of different firmness of pillows. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was basic but plentiful. Would definitely consider staying here again if I was travelling through.

Not really breakfast

As always, a great stay. Clean, comfortable abd accessible. Only issue was the inability to turn the captions off on the TV. Breakfast included fresh fruit and yogurt, which is always nice.

Very clean inside and out. They are working on updating their breakfast bar. There was plenty offered for the breakfast: bagels, honey buns, cereal, waffles, coffee and juice.

The hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was pathetic and had absolutely no effort put into it. I don’t blame the staff. They obviously have no budget to work with. They had prepackaged items from Walmart and noone to man it. The clerk was needed at the desk and you had to ask the front desk for more milk. No staff for the weak breakfast bar.

Dirty, breakfast was would never stay againhorrible, little choice, no sugar items, staff didn't care much.

The breakfast is very meager. They have started to renovate, but need to keep going. Get rid of those chairs in the lobby, they are a disgrace.

Quick check in and helpful staff. Breakfast was continental and I was pleasantly surprised by the good coffee! 😍
