Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Pub sehr gemütlich und das Essen gut. Die Lage ist zentral, der öffentliche kostenpflichtige Parkplatz ziemlich nahe. Unser Badezimmer war allerdings schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, und die Fenster waren nur einfach verglast, was eine sehr geringe Lärm- und Wärmedämmung zur Folge hatte.

I read the reviews before booking. It feels like I stayed somewhere entirely different Staff on check in weren’t bothered and once they realised I didn’t want to book for dinner or breakfast were generally uninterested Room was very tired, low quality furniture, tv plugged into a loose socket, window that would only open a few inches (I get the safety concerns but that doesn’t stop the top half of a sash window from working. Bathroom so small that there wasn’t enough floor space to lay out the floor mat. Shame as the shower curtain didn’t work so the floor was soaked. Shower that had two temperatures, ice cold or scalding - really not sure that’s safe? Stay only made worse by the fact I could see the premier inn over the road which would have been so much better for less money. I use hotels for work about 50 - 75 times a year and always try to support independent businesses. This one made me re think that policy.

Food fabulous,cooked fresh and delicoius and not stingy on portions. Perfect location for station. Staff so lovely and helpful. Ensuites could do with an up grade but all sufficient and reflected in the price.

Fairly decent hotel for the price paid. Carpets need cleaning in places and the windows only open a couple of inches so not good in hot weather. Convenient as very close to the train station and not too far from the Scillonian ferry. Room 19 had a poor quality shower and we couldn’t get a table for an evening meal (we arrived before 8 pm) - the man at reception wasn’t very courteous - didn’t even say sorry we are fully booked. The curry house next door was excellent. There’s no lift so carrying heavy suitcases is difficult for older people. Some of the staff were very friendly but we probably won’t stay there again.

We stayed for one night after travelling to Penzance from Norwich ready to catch the Scillonian boat to the Scilly Isles. We arrived at the end of the current heat wave so our twin room (Room #1) which overlooked the street was boiling hot and the window could only be opened a couple of inches for safety reasons. Otherwise it was fine, although the shower room was rather cramped. The staff were friendly and helpful, even bothering to ring us to tell us they had found my husband's cap which he'd left in our room by mistake, and the breakfast (buffet style) was very good. The hotel is very close to the train station and only a short walk to the ferry terminal, so this is a good place to stay if travelling by rail. It is also near a public car park so a very convenient place to stay and not too expensive.
