Easy parking, seems secure with cameras up. Quiet area too. Friendly and welcoming staff at the desk. Room was well equipped, although a bit odd in design (provided soap but no actual space to put soap on, so just left it lying in the sink). There were also some toothpaste marks on bathroom surfaces from previous guest, so cleanliness not the best, and the room in general was a little shabby but not offensive. Everything else seemed clean. I was so tired that when I got into bed and realised it was just a blanket inside a duvet cover and not an actual duvet, I just made do...but it was a cold night. I should have gone to reception, as found out later that a duvet was stored under the bed. But they should have just put the duvet on the bed to save this issue! The room had been heated before I arrived however, so some thoughtfulness by the staff - thank you! Overall reasonable enough if you need a quiet place to rest your head, but just check you have enough bedding!

The kettle was dirty that I wouldn't make a drink and sugar sachets were stained. The bathroom was dirty and the shower didn't work very well and the shower head fell off the wall. Breakfast was a cold breakfast, cereal and toast, and the crockery was already laid out at the table. My bowl was dirty, the table hadn't been wiped and had crumbs on the seat. There were cobwebs on other tables and the outside view was overgrown with weeds and wooden slats chucked about. Its a very big property and it seems the guy on the check in desk is trying to do everything himself. We see no other staff but think he should invest in some cleaners! Its a shame because it could be a great property with a bit of tlc.

The hotel part we stayed in was ok the grounds could do with tidying up parking was fine the chap on the desk was really good helped us find somewhere to get food it's a bit dated but clean and a comfy bed so all in all it was good

Large groundfloor room. Large house with an interesting history. Very reasonable rate. Close free parking in the grounds. Friendly, helpful staff. However, perhaps there is a water pressure problem as I couldn't get hot water to flow fron the electric shower. Also, the grounds need attention as a bit overgrown in places.

A bit out of town. No breakfast available and couldn't find any local cafe's. Comfortable, spacious room. Car park was full.

The hotel is an old building, appears to be in good repair, although some facilities are ready for refurbishment.

The room was small , i didn't mind that, but the dirt and filth was sickening, we booked this room on the good reviews we had seen, i dont know what other guests standards are but i found stains on the sheets, on the pillow cases, the head board to the bed had stains and thick dust across the top. The carpet was stained with black thick lumpy marks, the shower had grimy dirt all around the bottom and drain area, the walls and doors had stains and dirt , the light on the wall looked unsafe with what looks like a large plaster to cover wiring. After the state of the room and low standards of hygiene we didnt bother with the breakfast offered, cereals and toast self serve in a dirty dining area, dont think we missed much. Never will i stay here again and feel the reviews we read to be false and unfair to unsuspecting guests. The photos on the web site are not a true representation of this place.

The room was a good size for the money but the wifi was feeble in the room (good in the lobby). We knew there was no hot breakfast but the buffet breakfast choices were very restricted. Outside, bushes were invading the parking spaces and there was a lot of rubbish on the ground around the outside bins that should have been inside them. A tired property and service, with much missing that we would normally have expected.

Great staff but the hotel was not in great shape.

The room was dirty, with mould under the windows. There were stains on the carpet and on the ceiling. There were stains on the wall and the corners in the bathroom hadnt been cleaned properly. Not recommended at all !

The kettle was dirty that I wouldn't make a drink and sugar sachets were stained. The bathroom was dirty and the shower didn't work very well and the shower head fell off the wall. Breakfast was a cold breakfast, cereal and toast, and the crockery was already laid out at the table. My bowl was dirty, the table hadn't been wiped and had crumbs on the seat. There were cobwebs on other tables and the outside view was overgrown with weeds and wooden slats chucked about. Its a very big property and it seems the guy on the check in desk is trying to do everything himself. We see no other staff but think he should invest in some cleaners! Its a shame because it could be a great property with a bit of tlc.

“Absolutely disgusting – avoid at all costs!” This place was filthy, stained, and smelled horrible. I honestly cannot believe this is allowed to operate as a hotel in the UK in this day and age. The condition of the room was shocking – dirty carpets, stained bedding, and an overall terrible smell. This is not a standard – this is a disgrace. I wouldn’t let an animal stay here. It should honestly be shut down. Never again. I strongly warn others not to stay here – unless you enjoy a survival experience. Honestly, the forest would be cleaner and more comfortable, 100%.

Arrived in room and it did not smell fresh (cigarette smoke). After looking around the room there was stains everywhere (on the walls, floor, bedsheets and towels). Could not use shower as there was mould and drier in it. The furniture was falling apart and the door looked like it had been kicked in a put back together multiple time. Would not recommend staying here.

Utterly disgusting. Pictures speak a thousand words, but needless to say, I have never stayed in anywhere as filthy and run-down as this. Room smelled of cigarette smoke, and I have a cold at the moment, so it must be really strong. Signs in the room stated that the police would be called if caught smoking in the room… No cold running water, just the hot tap worked. Carpet filthy, and don’t know when it was last cleaned, I could feel things underfoot…looked like food in places. Lifted the sheet off the mattress only to find it covered in various stains. Kettle was coated with something filthy inside. Bedside drawers covered in cigarette burns and just filthy. Mould everywhere in the bathroom, damp coming through the ceiling, wallpaper peeling, what looked like bird mess on one of the blinds. Heard noises in the car park late last night, could see a lady with a baby in a pushchair waiting at the door. Thought nothing of it, until I heard a vehicle pull up just after 5am, people talking and repeated knocking on the front door…don’t know if this place is being used for emergency accommodation/halfway house or other, but I wouldn’t let an animal stay here, let alone anyone in a vulnerable situation. Should be inspected, and closed down until it is fit for human habitation.

Upon first viewing the hotel from the transport from the station, I instantly regretted my decision to book this hotel. Upon check in, the actual entry way was in a poor state with broken glass and paper adverts to try and cover the break over. Upon entering the room, the decor needed severe repairs, a bucket under the sink to catch the water from a leaking tap, the secondary bathroom light didn't work, mildew in the groutwork of the shower, the curtains and the privacy net were greasy due to not being cleaned in a very long time. Upon opening the wardrobe a used cotton bud tumbled out. Overall it was a very disgusting room.

AVOID!!! AVOID!!! It was nothing like the picture. the room was very dirty, like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in years. There was dust on the head board which looked like it had been there since 2007 a long with the rest of the room. The shower hadn’t been cleaned either with the room smelling weird. We was in the room for 10 minutes and left and had to book somewhere else to stay.

The room was dirty and not in good condition. It also didn't smell very nice but I couldn't quite figure out what is was. It was really noisy and generally not a pleasant experience. In fairness, the bed was fine and the sheets were the cleanest part of the room. This was not at all like the pictures and on reflection I wish I had immediately left the property and demanded a refund. I would never stay here again and can't recommend it.

It was a short but pleasant stay. I got a very lovely room which was big in size and comfortable. Overall a good experience but could do with better heating.

Cold tap didn’t work. Mold on curtains. Loud bed creecked with every move. Scary place thought I was gonna get haunted. Staff was nice though

Whilst I agree with some of the reviews that the hotel is a little dated and could do with some updating, I was more than happy with my stay for the money. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the room I was given was big, clean and very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were provided. As a lone female traveler I would have no issue with staying here again.

this is a very basic hotel which i was expecting however the shower was freezing which i wasnt expecting

The Hotel was easy to locate and room was comfy. Not properly cleaned to an excellent standard. No Rubbish Bin in the room, only 1 tiny one in the bathroom. Heating was good. Lighting was great. No clothes hangers in the room . Helpful Receptionist. WiFi could be better Overall, could be much better.

Nothing, The staff at reception was arrogant, not helpful and lazy. No Breakfast on Monday 27/11/ 2023 cause a worker took the keys home and furthermore called in sick. The place is pathetic . Looks haunted. Police is at the facility every minute. Dont stay at the park hotel. Its not safe.

Very clean and quiet room. Because I had mobility issues and couldn't climb stairs, the host went out of his way to find me a ground floor room. Free tea, coffee, milk and sugar in the room and clean bathroom.

Stayed there on my way to Scotland just for the night it was perfect. Welcoming staff , it was quite and peaceful.

Toilet difficult to flush, and no breakfast.

For £56 per night you’d expect better the rooms where not cleaned regularly the breakfast was poor we didn’t bother with it after the first day as the breakfast room was cold and very uninviting , a choice of cereal and toast that was self serving. I won’t be staying again .

We booked because Hotels said free breakfast but there was no breakfast. We wouldn't have booked otherwise. It's extremely old and in poor condition. Staff was friendly and helpful.
