The room was very cosy and had a good lay out. Convenient to the beach and the restaurants. Mattresses were too hard for us, so we weren't rested to well and the swimming pool, however beautiful it is way smaller in real life than it looks on the photos.

Great parking under unit in garage that is gated at night. No lift so a lot of stairs etc so if have mobility issues might be an issue. Pool area nice but small area not busy this time of year. Has library you can swop books great idea. Older building but spacious and comfortable. Just around corner to Main Street with shops and restaurants etc. Good value for money would stay again for location and parking.

We stayed in a king spa room. Perfectly adequate for my husband and I. Only negative was it was a little dark in the room and we had to have the lights on during the day but it had everything we needed , was clean and comfortable and we would stay here again as it was centrally located for shops beach , bars. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was smaller than depicted in the photos but as we don’t have kids, it suited our needs. The is a little dated but charming.

Apartment was perfect. All the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Walkable to shopping, dining and water activities. Small kitchenette for cooking meals with refrigerator and microwave if needed to store leftovers and cool beverages. Pool was perfect for relaxing or play. Nice grilling area if cooking outside is your preference. Would stay again!

Excellent except there is no lift and there are steep stairs. So not a place to stay if you have difficulty in carrying heavy suitcases or have a wheelchair.

Although very close to the Main Street and local activities, we found the Regal Port Douglas to very quiet and relaxing. Spacious room with great outdoor area and access to walkable dining and shopping areas. Only drawback was we were on the 3rd floor and had a lot of luggage and they did not have an elevator. Otherwise, everything was great.

We enjoyed it stay at the Regal. The grill was great, the room had nice amenities tho sharper knives would be great. The Regal is nicely located in all directions. Thanks for the nice stay. The property is more like an apartment than a hotel. The rooms are not serviced daily, you do your own dishes, you put out the garbage, if you need extra toilet paper you have to buy it yourself, there is no lift. The bathroom is huge, with a shower over the spa bath that sends water everywhere. However, the staff are friendly and helpful.

Our 1 bedroom unit 38A on top level 3 fell short of the 4 star rating. Major issue 1 was no curtains, so the units opposite had a great view in. Major issue 2 was the aluminium shutters on the balcony (for jacuzzi privacy) were broken in places and almost impossible to operate.Other issues were the struggling air conditioner and kitchenette power points being over the sink.

The service and friendliness was exceptional from the moment I walked in. My room was spotless and beautifully layed out. The location was ideal to the beach and all the cafes and restaurants. There are many stairs to climb with no lifts.When hot and humid can be a challenge, but once you get to your room, sit on your balcony with a glass of wine and look out to the rain forrest in the distances, you firget anout the stairs. Many thanks for a great visit.

Fantastic reception staff who checked us in even tho they where closing the office for the day. Friendly & helpful staff. Comfortable beds, great air con & fan, immaculately clean. Comfy outdoor patio. Shower could be a bit tricky to access for some. Enjoyed our stay & would recommend the Regal

Bed was Comfy but bottom sheet felt rough. Too many rules, if you don’t empty your bin you get a fine. Don’t wash your dishes you get a fine and you only have a washhand basin to do this in. Shower was over a spa bath which was hard to get in and out of. Shower sprayed everywhere. Felt like I was an employee ☹️

The Regal is in a very handy position just off the main road, and easily walkable to dining options, the beach, the markets and the wharf area. It was generally quiet. We booked a studio room for 4 nights. It was equipped with fridge, toaster, cutlery etc. There is no sink apart from in the bathroom. The bath was huge with shower over. Wasn't the best choice for us with the height to get in and out of and our "maturity". Balcony off the bathroom. Bedroom is to interior of unit. Pool was lightly heated - a nice touch in August. Rooms are not serviced, which we knew. Could have done with change of towels as they got rather wet with shower over bath set up, although we did put out on drying line (there is laundry facility in parking garage). Good parking area under property. Stairs to all levels with no lifts.

The Regal was nicely located just off Macrossan St. Our studio apartment was smallish but had a massive verandah area where put our cases as the space inside was limited. Whilst there were many positives, the negative was that we on the second floor, 3 floors up from the garage. There was no elevator so it was a struggle to lug our bags up. I was told that because of height restrictions in Port Douglas, very few places have lifts so it was a pity our room was on the top storey. Otherwise we had a great time

This one was a toss up for me. Amazing location, walkable to shops and restaurants as well as the beach and marina. The balcony with the hot tub and covered table area outside was very nice to have. However, you have to consider the cons: no elevator, no dishwasher, very noisy when sitting outside due to the 3 story waterfall on all day. The inside space was limited, and having doors that were louvred meant you could hear everything in the bathroom and that light came through as soon as the sun came up in the morning.

If you’re thinking about staying at Regal Port Douglas, think again. We checked out after staying only one night, having booked a 7 night stay. To preface, the photography is very deceptive on the website, giving the pool a bigger appearance than in reality. Even my son was disappointed. The Studio room is tiny, and you can barely swing a cat in it. The Spa Bath/Shower was abysmal, no shower could be taken without an IMMENSE amount of water spilling everywhere. The overall appearance of the complex is very dated, if you prefer to stay at something more updated and modern, Regal Port Douglas is not the place for you.

was a really great stay, the rooms where super quiet and the massive spa bath was great. This hotel does not have all the bells and whistles of a fully serviced offering however for the price you pay it is fantastic

We had a fabulous time at The Regal Port Douglas. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and had everything you needed in it. Definitely come back again .

The room was very cosy and had a good lay out. Convenient to the beach and the restaurants. Mattresses were too hard for us, so we weren't rested to well and the swimming pool, however beautiful it is way smaller in real life than it looks on the photos.

Good proximity to 4 mile beach and the centre of town. Room was spacious and comfortable. Nice pool and outdoor facilities as well. Team were very friendly and nice!

1 bedroom jacuzzi room was great. Close to all Macrossan street activities and close walk to wharf. Locked car park at night gave peace of mind. Very relaxing stay and hard to fault!

The service and friendliness was exceptional from the moment I walked in. My room was spotless and beautifully layed out. The location was ideal to the beach and all the cafes and restaurants. There are many stairs to climb with no lifts.When hot and humid can be a challenge, but once you get to your room, sit on your balcony with a glass of wine and look out to the rain forrest in the distances, you firget anout the stairs. Many thanks for a great visit.

Não tivemos uma boa experiência nesse “hotel”. Na verdade, estava classificado como hotel na hotéis.com mas definitivamente não pode se classificar como tal. Não há nenhum tipo de serviço de arrumação diária e exigem inclusive que o hóspede retire o próprio lixo na saída da hospedagem. Outro agravante é que não me senti segura nessa hospedagem . A mesma chave abria a porta de entrada do prédio e a porta do quarto… o que me levou a pensar se a mesma chave não abre absolutamente todos os quartos do prédio. Sendo assim, qualquer um que estivesse hospedado ali poderia entrar no nosso quarto para roubar coisas enquanto não estivéssemos ou fazer alguma coisa conosco enquanto estivéssemos. Péssimo! Se isso já não fosse suficiente , para conseguir acessar o quarto depois das 17h precisei ditar o número do meu cartão de crédito na rua, pelo telefone, com outras pessoas ouvindo, pois disseram que sem isso não liberariam a chave. Pedi para dar o cartão na recepção no dia seguinte, já que minhas diárias já estavam totalmente pagas e não achava seguro falar todos os dados do cartão no meio da rua com outras pessoas ao redor, mas foram muito rudes e disseram que não liberariam o quarto sem o número do cartão. Uma hospedagem de aproximadamente 400 dólares por dia que não vale nem metade disso. Péssimo custo-benefício. Não recomendo

This is a really nice stay. Right on the street with all of the shops and walkable to both the beach and the marina. But, some things that may be helpful for other guests to know: reception hours are VERY limited, though reception staff are very helpful. This will impact you if you need help booking a shuttle or locking up luggage or getting change or soap for laundry. They are SUPER helpful when available, but hours are extrememly limited. No hot tub on site, the jacquizi in the unit is a bath tub. (it's a bit odd - you have to walk through the bathroom to get to the porch. The jacquizi is not on the porch, just overlooks the porch.) Also, there is not daily service, so if you need soap or anything refilled before the service, too bad so sad. The pool is much smaller than it looks in the photos. Hotpot and pop-up toaster, but no microwave. But location can't be beat.
