The room was spacious but when i checked the room, the bath tub was dirty like they just rinsed it out. But we only stayed one night. They do not have an elevator which we had to carry our heavy luggage up the stairs.

Overall .. not very clean or secure . The girls at the front were very kind , but seemed annoyed with our concerns . The outside security door was never locked the entire time we were there . We were there for four nights and they gave us an end room by the staircase .. so everyone walking up the stairs could be heard in our room . The pool had to much chlorine in it that it actually took 2 baths to get the smell off. We had a king bed and no king pillows .. seems like part of getting a king . We come to Brookings often and will most likely not stay here again .

The room was nice although there was a lot of confusion with pet policy for a service animal, because pets are “only allowed in certain rooms”. Even Service animals? Yes. Only allowed in certain rooms. The parking lot was NOT safely maintained and was INCREDIBLY ICY. Clean and comfortable.

We have stayed here many times in the past and it had always been a great experience. Over the years this place has been allowed to fall into disrepair. There are many examples but the most glaring, one of the chairs in our room was torn and someone had repaired it with duct tape and worse, the duct tape was poorly applied and had pulled loose and was hanging from the chair. In the pool area the hot tub had obviously been patched, and one of the panels on the wall was heavily rusted. Just a few examples. Other than that the service was fantastic everybody was friendly the breakfast was set up early and well maintained.

The room had a damp odor, so we ran the dehumidifier that was in the room (never saw a hotel room with a dehumidifier before). We ran the bathroom fan too and eventually it smelled better or we got used to it. When I went to sleep, I felt something crawling in my arm. We jumped up and found the bug. Kind of looked like a young cockroach. My shower in the morning was lukewarm. There was a recliner that was dirty and bad condition. And all this for a total of $142/night!

My room and the property were very clean and the front desk staff member was pleasant and proficient at her position. It's clear the management has worked to update the hotel, especially the linens, fixtures, and decor in the room. The bathroom in my room still needed updating; the sink drained very slow and the sink knob was challenging to push and pull. There was rusting on the bathroom door frame. Since this is an older hotel, there's no sound barrier between the room door and hallway, so you can hear all voices in the hallway and every door slam. My main concern with this hotel was the lack of security. When I checked in and first arrived to my room, all of the room doors were propped open with door stops. I'm not sure why this was, but as a single woman, I immediately checked every corner of my room thoroughly, as anyone could have entered the space prior to my arrival and placed a hidden camera, suspicious package, damaged something, etc. I also arrived back to the hotel after 11pm both nights of my stay and both nights, the main entrance was unlocked and no staff member was present at the desk monitoring the traffic. They were likely in a back room and there's likely a security camera they can see, but having that human presence at the desk makes a difference for late night security when anyone can enter.

Room was in shabby condition, chair peeling and falling apart, rusty metal in bathroom and the previous occupants clearly chain smoked innit. Nothing was done when the smoking was brought up. We weren’t able to be moved and had to endure without as much as an apology.

Staff at front desk was great. First room we got had no heat. Front desk staff came to check and then moved us to another room. The second room had no working tv. Again the front desk staff came to check but was unable to get it fixed. We could have tried another room but at this point we said we would just stay. Other than that, everything was okay.

Easy to get to off the interstate, across the street from the event center. Safe area. Updated paint/decor, bedding, carpet. Bathroom sink and vanity were dated, but clean. Overall pretty clean facility. Breakfast has omlettes, sausage, cereal, toast, muffins, waffles, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee. Clean dining area, pretty good food. Beds ok comfort wise, middle of the road. I've slept in worse and better. For the price it's a good option, especially if going for an event at the swiftel center.

I have stayed at this Super 8 property many times in the last 20 or so years. Always, it is extremely clean and convenient on and off I-29. Several dining options are within walking distance, and a Cenex gas station is next door. The BEST place to stay near Sioux Falls!

The back entry door was broken and anyone could open the door to the hotel at any time. I was told it was broken from the wind and it would be 2 weeks before it could be repaired. Not ok!! Our room had a terrible musty smell and about a dozen flies by the window. No screen in the window. The bed was soft and not comfortable and had a very thin blanket. No extra blankets were provided in the room. It was very dark in the room and bathroom. Several lamps were missing bulbs and the bathroom needed bulbs replaced. We will never stay at a Super 8 again!! HORRIBLE!!!
