Motel 6-Eau Claire, WI

Parking lot and surrounding property in poor condition. Outside entrance doors do not lock. But I guess that you get what you pay for.

Overcharged but allegedly reimbursed. As mentioned by others, the a/c didn’t work. Also as mentioned door to back parking lot left unlocked all night. No batteries in remote for TV. Not even coffee offered in the morning. Construction debris down the entire length of the hall that could easily have been vacuumed but no one bothered. Sheets thin and torn. Toilet appeared to not have been scrubbed in a long time-ring around water line. Bad odor in room especially around sink. Staff was helpful and friendly though.

No handrail on 14 step staircase. Not easy for my 90 year old father going up and down without a handle to hold onto. Isn't a rail required by the American Disability Act (ADA) by law?

It was easy to get to this motel, and close to gas stations. Staff were barely present. The parking lot looked unclean, with litter and potholes and vulgar graffiti. The room looked run-down, with one light switch not appearing to work and a wall outlet missing any sort of stabilizing plate in front of it. The mattress was fine, but my pillow was the flattest I'd ever seen in a hotel. I had to fold it double to get it to a reasonable thickness. The fridge / freezer worked properly, though, which we needed.

The hotel it's self was very nice. But the outside was ful of garbage. All the outside garbage cans were overflowing with garbage. Every single one. Garbage laying around on ground.

Rooms were nice. The stairs had no handrails at all. That was bad for us. Outside needs ashtrays and some cleanup. Other than that everything was fine

The price was right and once I got there I could see why…. They were in the process of an update… new carpets, room facelifts etc. the front desk was also amidst an overhaul. My room was updated and all was satisfactory there, however the side door entry was not secure and I worried about my car getting broken into. I woke up and my car was ok.

No handrails on stairway to 2nd floor. Is that even legal? Went down for breakfast at 8am this morning --- nothing. No coffee pot in room. Not even instant or tea. No phone book or info numbers. No notepaper or pen.

Remodeling and painting taking place. Entrance door on the side of the hotel would not lock.

The ONLY reason this is getting 2 stars is because the gentleman who checked us in was incredibly inviting and friendly. No staff around at night. Called and waited TWICE for them to get the people above us to stop stomping and running around at midnight, to no avail. Room was absolutely DISGUSTING. Floors were not vacuumed, hair in the bathroom, sink was cracked, stains on the walls and floor, cobwebs in every corner, rancid smell in the air…just gross. A/C didn’t work. Blew cold air for 15 minutes before it started blowing hot air. No secure doors, all of them were unlocked for anyone to walk in. Clearly people living there because it was constant chatter all night. The whole experience was terrible. I wish I would have done my research a little better and stayed somewhere cleaner. $30 a night?? For sure. $76 a night and even more expensive on the weekends?? Unbelievable. The place is a dump. The pictures on the site are a lie. I’m sorry it’s brutal but I’ve stayed in MANY hotels for the same price and they were multitudes better.

I'm not sure if they have a broom or vacuum. Floors need regular attention. Rest of room looks dated in need of cleaning or painting.

The floors were terribly dirty, both in the hallway and in the room. We made a white towel black by cleaning just the area in front of the bathroom. Otherwise, towels and sheets were clean, Bed was comfortable, everything was fine.

Towels were new. Large TV. Had hot water for shower. AC worked. Overall the motel was very rundown and dirty. Exit door to enter hotel near my room was broken and didn’t even close. My room’s door lock was broken, only silver bar latch could be used but was loose. (I blocked the door for safety using chairs tipped on their sides.) The bathroom receding lights had no cover, carpet was very worn and dirty. The cabinets were worn down with missing finish, and toilet seat was also chipped. Spider hung from ceiling upon waking. 💔

It wasn't clean. There were brown stains on the walls, and the floor was sticky. The faucet sprayed water everywhere every time you used it. The beds weren't properly made either; they didn't provide enough pillows. I just felt so dirty sleeping there.

Quick stay, wasn’t needing much the room was very clean and updated. Did not expect toiletries and planned for that the only small concern was that bathroom had a musty smell but it is a serious steal for being a budget option that felt safe and clean

The place was absolutely horrible. Pink mold on the shower head, cobwebs above the bed, broken tv remote that didn’t work, the bed was damp and covered in long black hairs, and the floors were very dirty. Did not feel safe or clean here and will never stay here again. I will tell anyone who will listen how bad this experience was

The room had no microwave which was ok. We went downstairs to use one. But as soon as we got to our room, there was dirty toilet paper laying on something and toilet paper tied to the lamp by the bed. And the sheets wasn't very clean.

Hands down cleanest and best Motel 6 I’ve ever stayed at.

Large room. But no fridge and microwave. Good bed. No cable...only Smart TV.

Better TV channels. Room updates, door knobs, trim around sink. General upgrades.

Ac didn’t work 1/2 the time it blew warm air. Room had no fridge or microwave. Image for room showed whirl pool tub in the suite we booked but it didn’t have one. Over all was very disappointing. The hallways smelled terribly. The room was clean for the most part. The bathroom fan was incredibly loud! And open inside the ceiling where it was creepy and dirty. There was 1/4 roll of tp in total in the room. Bed was comfy and newer but had no mattress cover on under the sheets. There was no coffee pot in the room. The pictures of the lobby are not of this location. The breakfast nook has a coffee machine and microwave and no ac. The meeting room shown is a gambling room now. There were many transient types with black garbage bags sitting in the entry way. Seemed like many foreign people were living in the establishment.

Overall average accommodations. It was clean and comfortable. The building is old and in need of updates.

The hotel staff knock on your door all morning long to get you to check out asap. So weird getting non stop knocks from 8am on when I called and requested late check out, the calls did not stop. This is what we get for allowing other countries citizens to purchase all of our properties.

I was double charged and the amounts on the invoices I got from the motel 6 were absolutely different from the two amounts charged on my card! I want to resolve this and there's definitely some kind of fraud going on here and I demand a refund back. I have proof in my bank statements and in the invoices that they gave me.

employees are always friendly and eager to make my stay as stress-free as possible. the best front desk staff around and the price is unbeatable. highly recommended.

when things were not as I expected, staff was eager to bring my stay up to the level I anticipated. the response to my discrepancy was quick and made my stay comfortable and kind. like always I enjoyed my stay to the highest extent possible.

We gave this hotel two chances, but I will not stay here again. Both times, they assigned us a room upstairs, even though I had informed them that I needed a ground-floor room because I use a wheelchair. During our most recent visit, we stopped by before check-in to remind them of my request. However, when we returned later that night, the staff member told us there were no ground-level rooms available. He offered to help us upstairs to our room, but we explained that we could not do that, regardless of assistance. He then mentioned there was a ground-level room, but the air conditioner wasn't working. We didn't mind about the AC; we just wanted a place to sleep. He insisted that we consider the upstairs room again, but we declined. After checking his computer one last time, he found a double bed on the ground level, which we accepted since we only needed a place to rest. Unfortunately, our room was located at the back of the motel and required navigating a set of stairs, though there was a small ramp to assist me. My wheelchair barely fit on it, making it a bit scary, but thankfully I was too tired to care. The room itself was dirty and not well maintained. The bed needs to be replaced, but I believe they are planning renovations and our room is on the list. I cannot recommend this hotel, especially for anyone with mobility issues.

I stayed overnight because I was having an early surgery. The hotel was clean and quiet so I was able to sleep a few hours before my procedure. That was helpful. It was within two miles of the hospital too, and cost less than $100/night. That was important.

The staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice. I like the laminate floors. The water filter was very nice with hot & cold options. Halls, carpet and doorways were a bit run down. It seems like they were remodeling though. The stairs to the 2nd floor were awful.

This property is is a great place to sleep. Easy access from the highway and pets stay free!

Decent for the price. Safe neighborhood but a few sketch characters making this their home it seemed. All was fairly quiet and uneventful which is fine.

The beds are hard and there were some pretty nasty stains. The carpet was filthy like they hadn't vacuumed in a month. The fridge was cold but had to be cleaned before we used it. The a/c smelled disgusting when we turned it on, so we just kept the window open. There isn’t a continental breakfast anymore like their ad states. We would have gottwn a new hotel had they not all been booked from Rockfest.

The price was reasonable, it was pet friendly, no frills, clean, it had new tile floor in our room, faucet was updated, bathroom was painted and updated. It still needs some updating but looks like they are working on that. We had guests running around at early morning hours above our room. Overall for the price it was good.

First of all I arrived around 4PM to check-in but was told there would be a 20-minute wait, because the room was not ready. Secondly, there was no cups for water or an ice bucket left. Finally. the bed was hard and only one thin blanket. It was quiet.
