The Clifton Seafront Hotel

It was a good value for money stay. Beds comfortable.Scaffolding front of property, we knew about-it didn't cause any problems. very convenient for our stay purpose,thanks

The hotel had scaffolding round it which on first impressions we thought they were updating the hotel. It turned out it was there just for the roof. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the handrail up the 2nd flight of stairs was loose, our room was was obviously a single at one time and a double bed and extra single wardrobe had been put in, we couldn't access the bed from both sides.I had to move the bed to access the double plug socket. The bed was comfy though. Parking is on the road and is very limited although it is free if you can find a space. Breakfast, choice of cereal,fruit, croissants or a self service "cooked breakfast" the first morning everything was cold, sausage,bacon,beans and tomatoes the toast had obviously been toasted for some time as it was also cold when he brought it to us 1 minute after us ordering it. We arrived for the breakfast at 07.50 (breakfast is between 07.30 and 09.30) so we weren't long after the start. The 2nd morning we got there at 07.35, the sausages were very hot but once again the bacon,beans and tomatoes were cold as was my wife's toast. I got bread and butter so ended up having a sausage sandwich. There was only scrambled eggs available and neither of us had them so don't know if they were hot or cold. This is a very cheap rundown hotel and we would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. The staff were friendly though. Best thing about it is the lovely Indian restaurant right next door to the hotel.

The Hotel was easy to find, reasonable car parking available.

Staff were attentive, bed and towels were good, the hotel at present is undergoing repairs so looks like a building site with scaffolding front and rear. Rooms are very dated with a distinct lack of modern equipment IE usb ports, smart TV, Wi-Fi was adequate. The cooked part of breakfast is poor, all other items were okay. But at the end of the day it’s cheap and cheerful you get what you pay for. Parking is first come first served, transport is on the door step. All shops within walking distance. The whole of Morcambe is in need of a regeneration.

For the price we paid it was ok. I’m sure once the building works have finished it will be much better. Breakfast was adequate but room was a bit cramped, again I think because of the renovations. Overall for what we paid it was acceptable.

Good price for double room and breakfast. It looks like they are refurbishing the place so a strange reception area. Broken glass in main door boarded up so not a great first impression. Bed was comfy but was quite noisy outside at the front with smokers laughing and talking as if was so hot had the windows open. Would stay here again as parking outside and price.

Only stayed for one evening and had a good rest. However front door had been smashed and corridors and rooms were sorely in need of refurbishment. Staff friendly and very helpful. Would probably not stay there again.

The hotel was undergoing renovation. Really friendly and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean. Our room was in need of refurbishment, but bed was comfortable, plentiful hot water, and very quiet. Will definitely come and stay again.

Very welcoming in an adequate hotel. With limited mobility, the stairs presented a challenge and the lighting in the en suite was very inadequate. Th breakfast was a pleasant surprise and, all-in-all, I felt that my stay represented good value.

1 night. Service and breakfast was very good. Beware there are large steps into building and if you are elderly and have a heavy case thus could be a problem. Overall i rate thie accommodation as good value gor the money that i paid.

The table was dirty as was the bathroom and skirting boards. There was a chair with a cigarette burn and stain on too. When I had a shower I had to cut it short as the basin part was filling with water and not going down. We told the staff member on reception and was told there was nothing he could do. We asked to move rooms and he said they were full and no other rooms available. The only positives was that the bed was comfy and the breakfast staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and sea view wonderful. However hotel itself is in poor condition with pokey corridors and dirty carpets and odd steps along landings. Very dark inside. But buffet breakfast was well presented and plentiful.

Dirty ,dusty room with very old furniture and appliances.Breakfast cheap poor quality food,Parking on the street if you find a space near the hotel.over priced for the conditions we stayed in.I would not be staying again .

We stayed at this hotel on August 5th for one night. We did appreciate the warm & friendly staff & they did their best to accommodate us. However, we did encounter multiple issues in our rooms. The first room we were assigned had a terrible, high pitched sound, that we believe was caused by the heavy winds that day. The corner of the room by the window had a large amount of dead bugs on it as well & the dust & dead bugs were on the curtains as well. The curtains were also in disrepair. We knew right away that we could not stay in that room. We returned to the reception area & the staff member there was able to get us a different room at the back of the hotel. We gave up our sea view in hopes of a better nights sleep. However, our second room was no better than the first. The room smelt of mildew & the walls of the bathroom were streaked with mildew marks. There was accumulated dirt & dust on every door casing & the floor boards. And, to top it off, in the morning we discovered remnants of someone’s poo on the wall behind the toilet paper. We are not picky people, but we were very disappointed with our stay. We can tell that the hotel is trying to make improvements & updates, as our friend’s room was much better. But, the cleanliness needs to be improved & rooms that are not up to the standards they present in their pictures should not be rented out.

Has potential but needs to get basics right. Room was not clean, dusty, stains, no mattress protector and stained as was bedding. Staff friendly and reasonable included breakfast. Overall if it was clean would’ve been ok for price but wouldn’t recommend due to cleanliness or room and bed.

Hotel is in very very poor condition,dirty walls,stains in carpet,wallpaper were coming off.Bathroom was not clean at all very tiny bathroom you can’t breathe at all that bathroom.Room doors was not strong enough.This hotel need a total renovation.We booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for 1 nights.We dint feel safe in the hotel as door are in a very poor condition.It is such a waste of money.I won’t be visiting again in my life.It just spoiled our holiday. I would not recommend this hotel at all.I want my refund or compensation.I am shocked by seeing the condition of the hotel

Pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews, its more of seafront b & b, then a modern style hotel. Our room & bathroom were on the small side but we didnt mind it as we only staying one night.room was spotless, bedding & towels clean. Enjoyable breakfast & the staff were very friendly

The room was basic, tea and coffee provided, own bathroom, sea view. But small and the TV didn't work.

Staff are great, theres a decent buffet breakfast, the place is clean, it is though a 2 ish star hotel, its in a decent location on the beach, but at run down end of Morcombe. Rooms was a bit small and TV had no normal channels though I used my Netflix accts so was fine and its a smart TV, good wifi Its a typical Old B & B, not luxury but not that bad for price and for a contractor it was perfect, decent breakfast was included though I only used one day. Would go back as for a budget price its definitely OK and good value, my room was a single so not usually the best anyway, i am sure they have better rooms

Came for a cheap n cheerful overnight stay at the seaside. Plus notes, room very clean and bed seemed reasonably new and the bed, bedding and towels were good and once people had gone to bed it was pretty quiet The big let down was that the shower only dribbled out either freezing cold or absolutely scorching skin melting hot water and nothing in between. Tried to have a shower first evening which was not good, then the next morning it was just freezing cold water so we ended up having a wash and washing hair in the low sink, also no bathmat provided. The breakfast was very disappointing, yes cheap ingredients and you get what you pay for, but I do at least expect items to be hot, the cooked items were lukewarm and congealed. Took my own oat milk in a thermos as dietary requirements not catered for. Also check in was a bit odd standing sweating with heavy bags whilst the guy complained about Expedia. I can see now why we could not find this place on Trip Advisor!

Excellent bay view from room window. Nice room temperature. Excellent buffet breakfast. What's not to like. Would recommend.

Friendly welcolme. Smallish double, great sea view. Good free Wifi Bathroom tired, very poorly decorated, Extractor not working. Shower rail nearly falling off wall. Shower drain semi blocked. Good clean fresh towels Bed clean and comfortable. TV channels very odd. couldn't find Freeview. Friendly, helpful breakfast staff. Good choice, and hot. Scrambled egg a bit rubbery. Orange juice was quite weak..

The breakfast was a buffet with nice food and good friendly service. Owner was happy for us to eat takeaway in the room or in the dining area. About a 10 or 25 minute walk into the main area but there are takeaways in the area.

Very basic B&B, no toiletries provided, thin walls so noisy and lots of road noise. Planned to stay 2 nights, but left after 1. Hotel refuses to refund the second night, even with Hotels.com support for refund. Breakfast was okay, but the poor guy waitering was over worked. Street parking close by was difficult, had to park a long way away.

The hotel is two mins away from the start of park run . On street parking not a problem . Friendly service from staff . Hotels . Com states breakfast on a weekend is until 10am however it’s until 0930 which was a concern , but the staff said no problem and saved me some breakfast . Hotels. Com says check out is 1030 but hotel states 10am . We was able to leave for 10am. Room was adequate , it was a hot night due to the weather , so radiators being turned on made it slightly uncomfortable . Tv in the room was free view and sadly didn’t have terrestrial channels which just meant we couldn’t watch tv . I would recommend for park run the staff go the extra mile for you and I hope I ease anyone’s concerns who want to do morecambe park run and want some where near to stay , this is the place .

We are unable to do a review of the Clifton Hotel as when we arrived, we were informed that our room was still in the care of the builders and we were being transferred to the Strathmore Hotel, belonging to the same company and also on Morecombe sea front as we wished for. However, the person on reception could not have been more helpful, arranging for refreshments while he went to collect his car to take us to the other hotel. He also came back the next day to transport us to Heysham ferry terminal at no charge. We were also very satisfied with our stay at the Strathmore.

Stayed for a night on the way to Wales, great location on the promenade, got parked right across the street, made very welcome, very comfy bed, great breakfast and its a lovely town ended up staying around until afternoon....what more do you want for under £50???

A very quite and peaceful place in June. Very convenient, 8 mins walk to Aldi, 16 mins walk from Morecambe Station.

It was new place I had never visited before and nice lace to walk around it was nice and flat. The breakfast was bit cheap and with cheap ingredients and not much choice

Hotel like probably many others was in need of a refurbishment programme Staff friendly and helpful. Great location on sea front. Self service breakfast acceptable. Good value.

A budget hotel unfortunately showing signs of wear & tear but the room was clean & provided everything i needed for a comfortable nights stay. The breakfast was provided at no extra cost & easily achieved a 5 star rating. A good start that set me up nicely for my onward journey.

Only a one night stay for a family get together. Sadly very dated, ready for an upgrade. The creaking of pipe work meant a sleepless night. Staff very nice and friendly and helpful but the upkeep lets it down. Breakfast was ok helped by the very attentive staff. Would we stay again, probably not :(

The traffic noise, especially at night, was unacceptable (no fault of the hotel). The buffet breakfast ran from 7:30 onwards; after 8 plates and food were stone cold. The room heating was excellent, and staff always willing and helpful.
