Hampton Inn Johnson City

Property was clean and well maintained. The lobby was a bit crowded. The breakfast area, lobby and entrance were all tightly fit into one area. Access door was rather narrow.

Horrible, noisy due to hotel construction

1st room bathroom light would not burn. Front desk changed my room. Before i could get back with my luggage the elevator stuck with people on board. Changed my room again to 1st floor. Several things in room didn't work. HVAC sounded like a P51 taking off at times. Front desk very friendly and helpful.

Hotel itself was good. Clean hotel, good service , nice comfortable rooms. Libby nice, nice friendly employees. Parking lot was dirty though and the area around the hotel was not great.

There was a very bright light right outside of our window. The shade would not completely block it. The parking lot was torn up. The check in lady was brusque. The room was good. It was clean and everything worked. The continental breakfast was minimal.

The hotel is going under a lot of renovations and it needs it. The third floor was shut down, the second floor which we stayed at had torn wall paper on the hallways and the elevator floor was cracked with a loose tile and our bathroom sink was cracked. The staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and the young lady who worked the kitchen worked extra hard.

Wish we had known that they were doing renovations on the first floor and workers were there Saturday and Sunday. (I had made reservations a month in advance.) The morning breakfast was okay but by 9:15, all of trash receptacles were overflowing with trash to the point, trash was hitting the floor. Nobody seemed concerned about the appearance of the eating area.

I stay at Hampton Inn’s fairly frequently so compared to the other locations I was disappointed with this one. There is a huge draft in the elevator. Felt like at least 10 degrees colder. High top chairs in the common area were falling apart, literally!

Primarily(!), attention must be given to the rate. I’m from JC and felt $154/night was decent, esp since it was pet friendly. However, when they charge an additional $50 for a pet, $204 is FAR overpriced for this hotel. This was not publicized anywhere or I would not have stayed there. Further, 1/2 the parking lot was off limits because it looked imploded from a sinkhole or some other serious damage. There was no grass to take your dog to the bathroom, and had no trash cans so the ground had dog crap all over the very little grass there was. The view was of imploded concrete, a box truck, metal transport conexes, and a Krystal parking lot. Finally, it’s supposed to be non-smoking! Tell that to Room 307 or 309…had to walk through a HEAVY weed cloud to get to our room with the kids. Disgusting and low class, dirtbags. I did think our room was clean and did like they had Deer Park waters everywhere, as we drink a ton of water. Likely will not stay again.

Read previous reviews about the property prior to booking at this location and can only say - I was really disappointed with my stay and most certainly will never be back! Mediocre service at front desk at check-in, COLD breakfast, dried out omelets, dirty tables in dining area that were neglected and not cleaned including used cups, utensils, etc. in buffet service bar area next to food, and very limited breakfast items to choose from compared to other Hamptons. When I asked the kitchen server to clean off a table and buffet area before I used it - there was most definitely a begrudging "attitude" displayed about my request. In addition, my room was still not cleaned by 5PM the following day even though I left for an outing at 9 AM that morning. That next evening was noisy, very noisy - heard doors slamming all that next night into early morning hours and hardly slept at all! My reservation at that location was a complete waste of money in my view, and my experience was nothing short of miserable, unlike any other stay I have ever experienced as a Hampton Inn guest!

The Hampton Inn was located in a convenient area to shopping, food and ETSU. The breakfast was fine. Our room was clean and comfortable. We loved the fresh baked cookies served in the afternoon. The front guest manager was very friendly.

Only issue was the coffee wasn’t always hot and there was a strange smell in the bathroom at times

Very well located with shopping close by and the beautiful mountains. The hotel is clean and the rooms are a nice size. The bed is very comfortable and they have a nice breakfast. And very friendly staff.

Room was clean. Bathroom was clean. The door wouldn’t always close (had to make sure before leaving or coming). Breakfast was fine too.

Sewer smell was disgusting! We got in late cant see what i. Typing!! Next night we gotnin late and it was worsening, most disguting stay ive ever had in my life!!and let it go thinking it was just a glitch,

This hotel really needs updating. The A/C in the room didn't work properly, shower doors were broken and had mold all along the rails, peeling wallpaper, dirty carpets. Definitely not in good enough shape for the price. I expect more from a Hampton property.

Our room had a musty, dank smell. With the fan blowing on high it was less. A couple of pillowcases had something on them, but we used other pillows until we could get new pillow cases.

One of the worst nights sleep we’ve had at a hotel. We checked in around 8:30 and had a long drive. Upon getting to our room, we needed to turn the heat up, noticing it was cool in the room. I tried to figure how to turn the heat on. It would not work. I went down to the front desk. The desk clerk, said “you have the room with the heater that doesn’t work”. So she had me space heater and said this should work to heat your room. WELL it didn’t. The temperature outside was 19 outside. The heater heated only a small area of the room. We froze all night. Breakfast was OK. Nothing special. We will never stay at a Hampton Inn again. Avoid this hotel at all cost.

Rooms were very clean and updated. Breakfast was delicious. Great place would definitely stay again.

The walls are incredibly thin. Heard the couple in the room next to us having loud sex. Also you can hear noises and conversations in the hallways from your bed too.

Newly refurbished rooms...very nice

Our room was relatively clean, although a bit musty. The air seemed to have difficulty cooling the room down. It was quite warm for several hours after our arrival. The AC in the dining was out as well so it was quite hot during a quick breakfast prior to heading out. Barstools and seating needs some immediate replacement. They showed excessive wear. Room was comfortable but not what we have come accustomed to at any Hampton Inn. Thank you. AC

Beds were very comfortable and the shower was really amazing- the design, the water pressure and the availability of hot water.

Ironically, we switched hotels because our other place wasn't staying cool enough - unfortunately, the same thing happened here. The AC would kick on for 5 seconds max and our room wouldn't get cool enough to be comfortable with 2 young infants. We found a dirty washcloth in our shower. Breakfast was ok, not much to choose from. We had a family of 4 staying and was only given 3 bath towels...Front desk person after we had brought our issues to their attention wasn't very customer friendly - said we should have told him last night - he obviously isn't a parent, because although it was uncomfortable, after we got the kids settled down for sleep, I wasn't going to move them to another room in the middle of the night. We managed with the 3 towels in the morning before leaving. Front desk was supposed to have a manager call us about our stay but haven't heard anything.

Everything was great, except the AC unit was loud and we wore earplugs to go to sleep, but when we woke up in the morning the AC unit was quiet. Not sure why. Every one was polite and very help full, and the room was modern and very clean. Hats off to House Keeping.

This is a decent hotel. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the room was quiet. The room was a decent size, but not what I would regard as spacious. It’s what I would expect from a Hampton.

Absolutely wonderful! Beds were comfy! Receptionist was very friendly! And provided warm cookies throughout the day! Breakfast was great! We just enjoyed our stay!

The check- in person was not welcoming and seem to be having a hard time figuring out how to check me in. The hotel is being refurbed and our room was directly below one that was being worked on and so noise woke us up early in the morning. Bare minimum of toiletry items and coffee supplies which is inconvenient when there is no maid service. There was pink mold on the shower head.

The front desk staff was incredibly friendly. The facility was clean.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. And the sofa bed king room was plenty of space for a pack and play and an area for the baby to play.

Staff member at desk was very kind. She notified us about construction and possible noise. Offered us a chance to change hotels, but we stayed. She also recommended a restaurant in town. Very helpfu.

We attended the NASCAR races at Bristol and decided to boook a night in Johnson City. It was located about a half an hour away from the track. Easy access and due to our late arrival (after midnight) I called to let them know we would have a late check-in. We arrived around 1:30 am and were greeted almost immediately. Check in was quick and the service was friendly. We were surprised to find a full breakfast available in the morning as the listing stated “continental “. This was a welcomed addition. Super friendly staff, very clean, very comfortable beds. I would definitely recommend staying here and will return next year!

I arrived late on Friday. My initial contact with the desk was good. After check-in, I reported the toilet wasn\'t flushing. Maintenance suggested I come down and get a plunger. I suggeated they send someone up to fix it. A man arrived and plunged the toilet, left a wet mess. I went to sleep assuming it was fixed, but the next morning I discovered it was not. I called at 7:30 am, a very put out person on the front desk told me that maintenance would not be there until 8 am and there are no other rooms. At 8:46 am, after using the lobby bathroom, and waiting for maintenance to show, I called again. New person, a very friendly Alexa, explained that maintenance actually arrives at 9 am. She offered to get us a double after housekeeping cleaned some rooms; however, we would need to pack up since the staff would not be able to touch our stuff (understood). Instead of waiting around, we packed up and left the hotel. Alexa did find us a double with a working toilet. Of the four employees I communicated with, only two were pleasant and helpfull. I wish I had their names. Alexa is by far the friendliest & most helpful person you have here. Fix the broken floor in elevator before someone falls and lands you in a lawsuit. If the toilet is broken, fix it quick! This is one of the basic things you need with a room, toilet, bed, shower! Guests don\'t "borrow" tools from maintenance & fix broken toilets! This is exactly what maintenance asked of us! Breakfast & coffee - great!

What I like about Hampton Inn is that they are not unique. They are very similar, so I know the quality and amenities to expect. The lady who both checked me in and out was very nice and a good representative for this location and the company.

They were having computer problems so check in was very slow.

Great property for a quick overnight stay. Plenty of places near by for food and gas.

Service was good, but the hotel price was very expensive considering that the area is suburban. Also, there aren't many dining options.

Breakfast was disappointing. Hotel was full and staff (only saw one lady) could not keep up with demand. Items were in short supply and took a while to be replenished.

Rooms were very clean and updated. Breakfast was delicious. Great place would definitely stay again.

The breakfast was excellent. Room, service and price made this an excellent choice.

It was good. Only a few issues that we just dealt with: had to unplug phone in room because it kept rining once even with handset off, waffle maker was broke, had to wait a long time for food during breakfast and clerk refused to print me a receipt.

There were no coffee cups so could not have coffee with breakfast. Our shade would not go up. None of the trash cans had bags in them so awkward.
