Sugar Sands Beachfront Hotel, a By The Sea Resort

They put me in a room where the palm trees blocked my view of the Gulf front ocean view that I paid for. It felt personal because that Hotel was not sold out. Do better sugar sands. There are many great Hotels that surround you! I’m in Panama City Beach every month for work and could give you my business…..

Based on some of the reviews I read before booking, I was a little worried, but honestly it was a very nice stay. We stayed on the first floor, the room was clean and stocked with everything we needed, you walk out the back door and there's the beach. I didn't see any bugs the 4 days we were there. My only complaint would be the hard springy mattresses, and the guy that blows the boardwalk area in the back, he blew trash and bottle caps into the sand on the beach instead of cleaning the trash before blowing.

No hair dryer in room. Some staff were very nice. Some were not very friendly. Would stay again.

Staff was accommodating and pool maintain. However building itself was in need of repair and parking extremely tight.

Our room had no shower curtain. We came in sandy from the beach and had to shower without a curtain. The stovetop was not clean. It clearly had not been wiped down. There were roaches in the kitchen. I told the staff, and they just said they’d tell the manager. I got video of the roach and pictures of the no shower curtain and dirty kitchen. I’ll be sharing these in a review since no one from the hotel wants to address this or make it right.
