MainStay Suites Grantville - Hershey North

The hotel was very nice. A little dated but nice regardless. The pool had a really big chlorine smell but didn’t feel very chemically. Loved the arcade. Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was simple but good. Room was very spacious. The staff were very very nice. Would stay here again

Nice place, the pool is clean and the water hot , breakfast was good , only complain its the elevator its a bit slow and the stairs are at the end of the hallway so if your run its close to the middle you will have to walk a big distance to use the stairs, but room was perfect and clean , the only thing they need to upgrade the pictures of the pool and hotel front logo its different, the pool doesn't has the slide anymore, and no lofe guard on duty so you have to be responsible stay with your kids , its 13 minutes to 17 minutes to Hershy park , its location its nice in the country side. Wi definitely will stay again in this location we like it for what we needed.

We stayed for 2 days. Room was very good. Breakfast was ok, the kids loved it. The game room had multiple issues including very hot and breakdowns. Card reader stopped working so kids a bit disappointed. Overall it was a nice place to stay and staff was very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the property was undergoing construction on the 2nd floor (due to leaking). The coffee machine and pancake maker were broken for our entire stay. And if you want a hot shower in the morning, don’t stay here on Friday or Saturday nights. Monday morning was no problem. The hotel staff are aware of the hot water issue and didn’t offer anything for our satisfaction.

Only drawback is the room key needs to resets several times. But not a big deal , overall experience is decent!

Advertised as having a pool with slide, which might not be a big deal to some but to a group with kids it was quite a disappointment. We wouldn’t have mentioned it if it was promoted as part of the property. Room and property overall are very tired, but it was a great deal for a one night stay. Just adjust your expectations accordingly and note not all the amenities listed are in fact available.

We chose this property for it's proximity to Hershey park. It is very outdated and does not live up to its advertising. They have a sign in front that states "pool slide" yet none exists. They state "breakfast" but it was one of the least equipped hotel breakfast I have ever seen. 1 tray with microwaved powdered eggs, bagels a bowl of oranges, and questionable cereal containers. The pancake machine was "not working". They did have yogurt in the fridge. The coffee was like a vending machine and the quality was poor. They had a game room that was almost impossible to stay in as the temp was extremely hot and humid in there. They had quite a few "crane machine" type games- impossible to win. We enjoyed the skee ball and the pearl pusher game but the room was so uncomfortable to be in . The pool area seemed ok. When we went to check in, we arrived early and unfortunately could not check in. We had 5 rooms reserved with a request for myself and one of my children to have adjoining rooms as we were traveling with small children. The guy at the desk said they were booked solid and could not accommodate us for that. He assured us our rooms would at least be all together-told us the room numbers.My self and the family with children checked in first. We asked about the other rooms (which were on another floor!)and the new person at the desk stated the "last guy gave away your rooms so thats why you are on 2 different floors" There is so much more - We will not go back there

Our room had great features. Sitting area, kitchen, king bed. Overall clean, but had a bug spray smell. The pool, arcade, and gym were great and open until 10pm. The breakfast was great with more to choose from than your standard free breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great place to take the family, 5 miles from Hershey Park. The arcade and pool was fun for the kids and they have an indoor half basketball court too. Service was friendly.

For the amount we paid per night the hotel was not what I expected. It was dirty, moldy, smelled terrible, the floors were sticky and not even. The breakfast was awful, the worst breakfast spread and did not even taste good. The staff at check in was great, they were friendly and the game room (we did not use) but looked fun for kids.

The room was very dated, and had large red stains on the carpet. Lampshades torn and damaged, food on walls in the kitchen area of the room. Chipped bathroom door. Outside deck was in poor condition, with broken patio chairs. Front desk staff and manager were very helpful. Nice reception area and breakfast buffet. Kids loved the game room and pool!

Came down to Hershey for a little getaway away for a wedding and some park time with my family. Place is super dated. My room was infested with spiders. I disposed of 5 myself and then finally called the front desk at 10pm and they came down and disposed of some more. They were apologetic but told us they had no more rooms available. 5 minutes later, miraculously one became available. We move my whole family up to another room at 1030 pm, which the room was a little better. Came down for breakfast the next morning and it was just awful. They advertise free breakfast but it really is not something to be proud of offering. Upon checking out we asked to discuss our stay with the manager. They took our info and 3 days later we have not heard from them. Very disappointing and would certainly look for other options.

The bathroom in our room, especially the toilet was not cleaned and had a strange odor

Have stayed here numerous times usually have a good experience. I think there is a new housekeeping staff or something though, found food crumbs on the floor between the two beds and a dirty dried up wash clothe in the shower.

Nice looking hotel property from the outside, staff was friendly and informative enough. Room was just bad! AC didn’t work until almost checkout the next day and that was barely at best, we found hair in the bathroom (sink & toilet) that didn’t belong to us and garbage around the bed from previous children so the room was barely “cleaned”, shower curtain was stained and the beds were horrible at best. Breakfast offered was decent though. All in all I wouldn’t stay here again and I’m highly upset there were such great reviews.

CONS: Our room needed some upkeep. The carpet was ripped, the lighting was terrible, the bathroom had a very small sink, there was hair in the shower, and the frdige didn't keep our drinks cold. PROS: staff was friendly, food was good, bed was comfortable.

Our room had smell( when entering the room only) per the staff as it was close to sewer.

Room was large but could use updating. No stopper for the bathroom sink or tub. Toilet was not mounted to the floor so it rocked. The tub was very worn in the floor of the tub.

Price was okey and size of room good. The furniture was old and dated as were the televisions. the mattress was old and too mushy.

Very old facility. Bathroom needs to be replaced Wi-Fi doesn’t work.

We came on a family trip and had 3 kids included in this trip. The waterslide in the pool was a huge hit. They had a great time. The breakfast is a small selection but for our family it was perfect. The only con we had was the Wi-Fi was super slow and sometimes was so slow that we couldn’t use it. I definitely don’t recommend for someone who needs access to the internal. Overall, the experience was really great for a family vacation!

Exceptional value during “off season” …especially compared to other accommodations in the area. Staff professional and make every effort to see that your stay is a good experience. Fabio’s Italian restaurant right next door … excellent food.

I usually never have an issue here but this time was different… when we showed up it took us 25-30 mins for the front desk person to be off the phone and acknowledge us for checkin! Usually check in takes us about 5 minutes and i understand the front counter person was on the phone but at some point it would’ve been nice for her to quickly put the person on hold and quickly check us in as it was already 9:30pm on a Crappy snowy night!! And then when she was finally off the phone she asked us if we needed an accessible room because Expedia had us in a 1 Bed King that was handicap accessible and we said no if you have something else king we’d gladly switch so if someone needed the accessible room they could have it!! She then told us she had another room with a jacuzzi tub and I said that’s fine but I’d rather pay extra as it wasn’t my mistake that the room was accessible, she proceeded to tell me it would be a little extra which I would’ve been fine paying for… well this is where is gets funny she tells me it’ll be more then the little extra… She couldn’t explain why it went up so much so she then told us she would put us back in the room we originally booked!! We finally get to our room around 9:55 only to realize we didn’t get the 1 bed king room we paid for she ended up putting us in a 2 bed queen room… at this point I was so tired, stressed and hungry that I just wanted to eat and go to sleep, so we slept and checked out early in the morning! Almost felt ripped off…

The Hotel is good for the price. The star, however, is Ms Brandy. We stayed here 2 weeks ago on our way to Boston and Maine. We came thru on our return and decided to stop again. Both times, Ms Brandy was an excellent ambassador. She was friendly, helpful, and polite. All traits many have forgotten.

Location: It was 15-20 mins to Hersheypark (main reason). There's an Italian restaurant right next to the hotel and gas station across the street. Breakfast: The pancake machine was down for all 4 days we were there. Limited hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, pork sausage, bagels/bread with cream cheese/butter/jelly, cheerios and frosted flakes, oranges, and juices. Filtered water is limited (the gym water jug was not refilled, the water bubbler on the first floor is dirty/doesn't work, the breakfast juice machine that dispensed water worked sporadically). Hotel: Outdated and dirty, but we were out most of the day so it was OK for sleeping. Our 2nd night, the toilet clogged and when asked to be moved to a different room (with 3 young children), was initially told we needed to pay for an upgrade. Female staff had attitude but later was able to move us to an equivalent room with no charge. Warning: There is a giant pothole dead center when entering the hotel parking. I didn't see this as it was late at night and it broke my exhaust pipe! Our first time in PA. Would not stay here again if we're coming back for Hersheypark.

This property is convenient when traveling down south as it is close to I-81. However it requires render loving care due to how busy it is.

Overall we enjoyed out stayed. Only thing we didnt enjoy was breakfast options. Pancake and microwave breakfast sandwiches.

Brandy at the front desk was very friendly and made the check in process pleasant. The free breakfast isn’t bad but isn’t great which is fine. The room has just enough accommodations for an extended stay. As a suggestion, bring your own soap and coffee. Other than that. The hotel is great for the price we paid.

I want a pen in my room. Every other hotel does it, why not you? Also the hot free breakfast was terrible. The worst eggs I've ever tasted.

We have stayed here the last two years. We had a room with two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. The room had a kitchenette with a microwave and full size fridge and freezer. The bathroom was fine with a tub/shower, but the shower head was small and didn't release a lot of water. The pool and water slide were a hit with the kids! The pool room is very warm and is supplied with towels. My kids liked the basketball area, but it was just a small corner with one hoop. The ceiling was awkwardly slanted, which made it hard to shoot baskets. There is an arcade with a nice selection of games in the same room. Our only concern as a family was the lack of selection at breakfast. Everyday, there are Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, which are pre-wrapped and can be heated in the microwave. Not the tastiest. There is yogurt available and a few apples. There are also two pancake machines to make two pancakes at a time. There is a juice machine for orange and apple juice and a coffee machine. It would have been nice to see some cereals, oatmeal, greek yogurt, bagels, more fresh fruit, and even eggs or hashbrowns. Overall, our stay was fine. Our only recommendation is to update the breakfast, which definitely was a disappointment. Oh, one more thing...great location to get to Hersheypark!

Loved everything except the breakfast it was 830 only thing to eat was yogurt and cereal of course you could make a waffle but not hot food.

In thr initial listing of this hotel. It talks about a great free hot breakfast. However for our stay there was no such thing. Your choice wa some rubbery tasting pancakes, a microwaveable breakfast sandwich or some yogurt. Was very disappointed.
