If you like bling this is not for you. However, if you like the idea of a grade 2* listed country house in 35 acres of parkland with a tennis court, pickleball and croquet lawns give this some serious thought. Rooms are great with comfortable beds, hotel is full of character and history and the staff are really efficient, friendly and helpful

A very nice stay in a historic hotel set in beautifully maintained grounds . Staff friendly and food very good. Hotel is well staffed and grounds are very well maintained . Breakfast was great . Surprised that they do not have a sa or pool however . , but there are many excellent country walks in the area .

The hotel and the grounds are lovely. Our family room was spacious with a great bathroom. However there was a wedding (with 80 guests) that took precedence over everything. Dinner was a Fawlty Towers affair, service was so poor and the food was disappointing for the price. Nothing child friendly on the menu. There is a tennis court was in a state of neglect as was the overgrown and un-inviting croquet lawn - which is a shame. Breakfast was disappointing, no orange juice and tinned mushrooms just added to the sense of customer neglect. We left a day early.

Nice relaxing night away, lovely & quiet hotel.. nice for a chill out.. lovely gardens etc.. been before & would go again definitely , just same it has no spa would be ever more magical.. staff friendly & helpful, rooms a good size considering the size of the place & age its in good condition.. ill be back…

Stayed here as a guest of a wedding at the venue. There was another wedding on the Friday when I arrived and although there was music late into the night, staying in the Stable building there was no disturbance at all. Had excellent bar snacks and enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evening sun.

We came to stay as a romantic couple get away and was put in room 211 which was a nice room the only down fall is the loo didn’t have a strong flush so never took away your doings and as for the shower and bath the water was a little temperamental..Also there is no lift at this hotel so getting bags upstairs is a nightmare without help but the building is set in some beautiful settings which makes it all worth it if you really want a totally out the way get away

My room was upgraded, and was lovely . I wasn’t told it was an upgrade until the second day. One downside, was the lack of a lift, and two flights of stairs

Really nice building full of history. Room was tired and damaged. Outside door banged every time guest went through. Old soap residue and hair in shower, extractor inoperative. Extra charge for pet, had to then request the dog bed, treats and extras that the hotel stated would be provided but not everything was then provided. Such a shame as the building is very special but the hotel is not up to the building, below expected standard, not as hoped.

The property was beautiful…the room was spacious and spotless and very comfortable. Everything worked! The staff were friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this historical, beautiful hotel.

The hotel is gorgeous but disappointing stay in room 205 due loads of big flies in the bathroom. Reported to reception but still more flies. Reported it via the contact us on website but no response. Whilst I understand it’s an old building there was clearly a problem and it spoilt our stay

We had a lovely stay at the Elvetham last week. We were only there for one night, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The building and grounds are spectacular, with a real sense of old English grandeur about the place. We were staying in the coach house annexe, and the room was lovely. I am usually reluctant about hotel annexes, as they tend not be quite as comfortable as the main building, however the Elvetham was an exception. The room was wel appointed, with a very comfy bed and plenty of storage. The bathroom was luxurious and most importantly, spotlessly clean. All in all, a wonderful stay - I will definitely be back.

Very noisy early in morning with doors slamming etc. could hear people talking in next room. Not enough staff in the bar. Room could have been cleaner. Had to sit in the floor to do my hair with a mirror. Shower products on the floor as no shelf or tray

This was probably my favorite place that we stayed at during our extra long holiday. Everything was absolutely pristine and the property is simply majestic. It’s like seeing something out of a Hollywood movie it’s almost surreal it’s so posh and fancy looking! The Television was amazing as well!

Beautiful hotel in spacious grounds, full of character and fascinating history. Our room was in the main building, modern furnishings, clean and comfortable. We ate in the bar which was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Great stay. Will return.

Wonderful stay at The Elvetham. This was our second visit. Only stayed one night this time, but received excellent service. Had an executive room, very spacious and comfortable super king size bed. Very quite and peaceful. Breakfast is very good and plenty of choice. The hotel itself is set in beautiful surroundings. Lots of little areas in the gardens to sit. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely venue. Heating in room didn’t work. Called reception they assured us it was working and would just take a few mins to start warming up. Sadly on returning to room this not the case and freezing. Had to walk to reception and ask for another room. In fairness reception were helpful and gave us another room. Just made the evening far from relaxing as intended.

We only stayed one night but had a huge family room in the stables which was comfortable and quiet. The grounds, room and hotel were beautiful and well maintained. I would like to stay for longer next time. The Christmas decorations were lovely!

Beautiful hotel located amongst even more beautiful grounds. However, for a 4 star hotel it had some short comings. Our room was located in the annex stables & although our room was well decorated with a lovely view there were a few issues. The phone in our room did not work which was particularly inconvenient, especially as the annex rooms are not in the main house and a few minutes walk to the main reception, this could become a real problem in an emergency as the cell phone reception is very weak & made it hard for us to enjoy amenities such as room service. Additionally, the chrome cast, although it is advertised on the tv, does not work in the annex rooms as the connection is bad. If you’re a light sleeper the annex rooms are not for you as you can hear everything from the neighbouring rooms and surroundings. The staff however, on the whole are welcoming and friendly and helped rectify a mishap with the breakfast. I would probably stay here again but would opt for a room in the main house instead.

We are regular guests at the. Elvetham and so asked for a specific room in the Stable block. We ended up with a room No 68, with no outlook. It felt like being in a box with a small window so high up on the wall that we couldn’t even see out.

The estate is incredible, with beautiful grounds and amazing architecture. The room was very comfortable and lacked nothing. Breakfast was top-notch with plenty of choices.

We always love returning to the hotel, but upgraded to a suite this time. It was superb. The meal in the restaurant was exceptional, and the steak I had was probably the best I have ever had!

Lovely rooms, but rooms where just just to hot, aircon was barely working, very hot in the night couldn’t sleep comfortably. Very beautiful area and builders, aircon needs sorting asap. Ran out of Baileys at the bar. Very nice stay apart from them issues. Shower drain blocked in room 143 water overflowed in shower.

Family room was too hot. Moved us to a much better family room, which they should have put us in too begin with. Said they would organise a refund for night one of two and didn’t. Wouldn’t return

The lady at checkin did not run through any of the timings or facilities of the hotel, she was also more concerned with dealing with a colleagues queries than checking me in. Room was clean and tidy but dated, bathroom was very cold (radiator undersized for sure) Dinner was nice but at breakfast there was little to no service, in fact we didn’t even get given a menu or told how to get the breakfast. Very chatty and informative barman in the residents lounge which was nice and very friendly Overall OK but needs to up its game before I’d consider staying again

We had such a wonderful stay at the Elvetham Hotel. This stay was part of a weekend wedding anniversary trip for my husband and I. We arrived at the hotel earlier than check in time and managed to have our afternoon picnic/ Tea in the conservatory as the weather wasn’t great. We were served by the wonderful Olga who was very attentive and professional, such a great waitress, and the team accommodated our substitutes for the food due to my pregnancy aversions which was so kind them. All staff at the hotel from the restaurant manager, waiters, front of house staff, everyone was great and gave us 5 star service. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Receptionist did not really explain anything. Ruby in the restaurent was lovely, as were all the staff.

A wonderful hotel with serene green spaces in a royal atmosphere. I had to work overnight and the gentleman at night desk went above and beyond to help me with an additional TV screen and a place to work at. Simply unbelievably helpful and way beyond my expectations. My wife and kid had a great time in the gardens. I highly recommend this place if you´re out to get some relaxation.

Heritage property with fabulous gardens .. beautiful room priced appropriately in the main building. Check in too slow and inadequately staffed. Just make sure you don’t get a really bad deal in the stables by the side of the main building. Mates of ours staying there were not happy

Beautiful property all around. Pros: cool historic building on gorgeous grounds. Comfortable room with nice bed and shower. Restaurant open late and very accommodating. Hollie was our server and she was very charming. Cons: the girl checking us in was not very informative. She barely told us where our room was and didn't give us any information about the restaurant, hotel, grounds etc. We got lost trying to find our room. And were curious about walking around the property.

Its a beautiful historic building, absolutely lovelyand beautiful grounds. However, a lot of things did not work, and even after complaining they were not fix. Like conditioner in our friends room, freedge was broken in our rokm, we asked it to be fixed several times, nothing happened No safe in our room, although safe was promised, we even called the hotel in advance to make sure that our room has safe and were asured that it has, but it did not!!! Worse of all was the Restaurant Manager, very unfriendly and hostile. He should not work in hospitality industry The staff at the reception wer friendly and helpful, especially Sam and Ivan

Didn't care about non wedding guests. Took my wife and 2 young kids, reception was rude, and our room was not cleaned properly. I sent them an email about our stay and they didn't bother to reply. Was very disappointed, as is a beautiful place, but we were not able to enjoy it as we wanted.

Great room food and situation

Love this hotel and love they have something for everyone here. We stayed here previously through a charity supporting carers, so clearly corporate responsibility is a big thing. We stayed again as it was close to Blackbushe airport that we were attending an event. Also the price was reasonable if we stayed in the stables. We had a lovely quiet corner with a view of a wild field. I can see why this is an excellent wedding venue with many many rooms to suit everyone..The staff are friendly, the grounds are gorgeous and great for walks and lawn sports. The main building has many places to just lounge. The decor is amazing and the history behind it all is fascinating. Definitely worth staying at.

Great location.

I was overall disappointed with our stay. We arrived quite late and were only staying for essentially half a night as we had to go to the airport quite early. Upon checking in we were told the restaurant was open until 10pm and last order was at 9:30pm, and then the bar was open until 12am. We arrived at 9:15pm assuming we could still place an order as we were told and the staff told us the kitchen closed at 9:10pm (literally 5 minutes earlier). Granted, this place is in the middle of nowhere so there are no other options for food that time of night. After having us wait 15 minutes they finally agreed to let us order food. The food & service was quite mediocre, it honestly seemed like the staff was anxious to just get their job done and close up. Aside from that, the heating was not working in the room so they offered a space heater (for a pretty large room by the way and it was a very cold evening). Of course in the countryside it can be expected but we also spotted a massive spider in the hallway on the way back to our room. A bit disappointed as my husband was only in the area for one night with me and that was our experience. Overall, I wouldn't recommend as there are so many other amazing properties in that region. Only plus side is the exterior property looked stunning even though we didn't get to explore it and it is also not too far from LHR / central London.

Only a one night stay as we were visiting friends in a nearby village. Beautiful location and grounds and a lovely comfy room in the Stables building. Such a lovely setting. I can see why it would be a wonderful wedding venue. Hopefully will return again some day as a treat.

Lovely property and local area. Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Dinner was unfortunately a complete mess because of the lack of staff (most were dealing with a booked wedding). Courses were mixed up, late and cold when we received them.

Beautiful unique historic estate. Amazing afternoon high tea. The grounds and main house are stunning. The annex has beautifully renovated rooms.

This hotel is beautiful. That’s where the good bit ended for us. During dinner we were left waiting until most of the way through our starter for a drink. Side dish that was supposed to be Honey Roasted vegetables was par boiled and still hard in the middle. My wife ordered 2 different starters instead of starter and main as she’s not a big eater, they brought her the same starter for both courses. When I asked for another glass of wine, my currently half full glass was removed and topped up. My medium rare steak was well done and dreadful (we’d complained so much I didn’t have the heart to bring this up). Thankfully we were not charged for drinks or the side but we still had a £95 bill for food that was worse quality than a weatherspoons and service that was on par. Thank god our wedding anniversary was the day before and we were just using the hotel as a stopover on the way home from the airport. At one point it had become so comical I was convinced we were being pranked. We were also put in a double room, we’re both tall and I don’t like to sleep in a double bed, it wasn’t until we got home that I realised I had in fact booked a king. The hotel looks lovely and it is a perfect stop over between Gatwick and the south west, but I have honestly never had such terrible food at this price point. We would stay again as the accommodation is great for the price. We’ll just stop at the Burger King on the way, at least we’ll get more appropriately priced bad food.

Beautiful accommodation and surroundings. The short break was let down by poor service. We had a dog with us and knew we would have to eat in the bar. Although this was fine for dinner. Breakfast was another story. We were left in the bar on both mornings with no table set. We had to find our own cutlery and chase for coffee. A minor issue - but with two hungry children and a dog waiting to settle - it was a level of stress that could have easily been avoided. Particularly on the second day.

We absolutely LOVED our time at Elvetham. The castle is absolutely beautiful and so much incredible history. We toured the grounds and then had dinner at the restaurant looking out over the garden. Incredible food and service.

Beautiful room and grounds. The hotel restaurant was poorly staffed and empty when we ate dinner at 8pm on a Saturday evening on a Bank holiday which is a shame. Food was average and wine was warm. Had messaged ahead to let the hotel know it was a special occasion (night before our wedding) and felt they could have done some easy touches to make it feel special.

Felt a bit like hotels used to be many years ago, separate carpark away from hotel with no umbrellas so got soaked getting to and from car, was told room as my ready so advised to go elsewhere only to revive a call within ten mins to say it was ready, the bar are should have been nice but was freeing cold with the fire not lit Staff all seemed a bit vacant, no one was sure what menu was available and we were given stone cold coffee at breakfast No lifts, so had to dodge the buckets catching water all up the stairs from the leaking roof
