Super 8 by Wyndham Hattiesburg South

Large pot hole in the parking lot. The floors in the rooms were muddy dirty. Didn't dare step on it with bare feet. 2 people had to use 3 very small pillows. Not a place we would go to again or recommend to anyone else.

Great comfy, peaceful sleep. Got to park almost outside our room. Breakfast simple but adequate. There was a homeless person getting packed up outside the window while we were having breakfast which was a bit off putting. Good value for money.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was somewhat dated. The room was clean and the area felt safe. Parking was not a problem. We stayed three nights.

Well let’s see… checked in on Friday night. No WIFI. Tv set to random input and no way to change the input on the tv. Room smelled clean looked clean minus the random bugs. Not so much cockroaches only saw a few little ones of those but other random ones. Front door needs a seal. 209. Shouldn’t be able to see light when the door is closed. Breakfast is a joke. Staff was very friendly though so at least that’s a plus. Parking lot was safe for our two nights. Would not recommend though unless it was the last choice in all of Mississippi.

Very little water pressure, paint peeling and potential mold in shower, four huge water stains in ceiling, free breakfast only included packaged cheese danishes, toast, 2 cereals and bitter coffee, ver old, flat pillows, sheets had pilling, ice machine wasn’t working. The one positive was I slept pretty good.

Good: comfortable bed quiet place, convenient parking, friendly front desk clerk when I arrived. Could be improved: Non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke. There are burn marks all over the edge of the bathtub; breakfast was a choice of cold cereal or toast. I couldn’t find anything to spread butter/jelly on my toast; there was a staff member sweeping the area while I was looking for help with breakfast but she was talking on her phone the entire time and I didn’t want to interrupt her.

We needed a safe comfortable place to sleep on a long road trip. We were provided with great service and a well lit, safe place to rest our heads. It wasn’t the ritz but it certainly was a bargain for what we paid.

Don’t be fooled. The photos give one impression of this property, but don’t expect your room to look like the photos. Our carpets smelled moldy, there was grime in our shower, and plaster was falling off of our walls. Worst of all, our night desk worker assured us that he had no power to make any changes, and he did not have a phone number for any manager. He claimed that the only people he could call was “the police.” If you are considering this establishment, do yourself a favor and sleep in your car.

There was roaches in the room.

Accidentally booked a smoking room and omg it was disgusting, the tub was dirty, sink dirty, had a big burn hole on the tv stand. It was just so dirty

The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had. The bathroom door was rotted. Mold in the shower. Bugs/insects on walls, floors. Dirt spots on the sheets!!! And the noise!!!!!!! Awful!!!

The white sheets seemed clean. The TV was fine. Otherwise; the beds were too firm. The pillows were one per person and lumpy and thin. The blankets had tiny stains and scratchy. The paint inside the room was streaky like they did one coat and gave up or they bought the wrong color for the second coat. There were broken light switch covers, a leak in the wall above the sink with brown water, roach poop behind the mounted hairdryer, a seam open in the wall behind the toilet, and visible dirt on the shower and all walls. The carpet is black by the entry. Missing smoke detector! Not impressed at all even for a budget stay. It was a bed to sleep on and then we got the heck out of there asap.

Where do i start with this train wreck? First of all, I don't leave bad reviews for mediocre rooms. I uunderstand I get what I pay for, but this room was beyond horrible & the public needs to be warned. Roaches that didn't scatter when lights came on. Holes in the wall from furniture being rubbed against it that could have easily been taken care of with some putty and paint. A fabric chair with absolutely filthy arms that looked like it had been taken out of a dumpster. The handicap tub rails were falling off & absolutely useless. Two guys with leaf blowers right outside our door at 7:45 am. We didn't get to bed until close to 2am all to be startled awake by 2 guys with high power leaf blowers blowing things against out door. It sounded like someone was throwing things against our door. When we complained to the manager as we checked out she said it was the city who had done it. My husband made sure to ask if the city was allowed to come on private property and do that, and she said yes they were responsible. Leaving the property, we saw a crew of public works guys hanging out at the property next door, so we went to ask about them using leaf blowers at the hotel. They told us that the city does NOT clean private property and it was NOT them. Bugs, filthy furniture, holes in filthy walls, leaf blowers, things just falling apart and lies. They are not even trying to make the room a little bit better. Dirty, filthy mess. Pass if you can!

The front desk clerk was nice and doing her best and it is centrally located, but the room was dirty, stained, paint chipping. Im not picky but I expect at least the bare minimum cleanliness and upkeep. Crumbs around the bed, cigarette burns all over the place, no tp on the roll. And how much is a can of paint and some caulk?

Mold on beds, on ceiling above shower where paint was picking. Horrible mold/old smoke smell. Mold inside the ac units. Stained mattresses. No smoke alarm in the ceiling. Overall a disgusting and disturbing night. Would’ve left in a heartbeat if this app would’ve let me get my money back.

It smells musty , the room was clean but yet felt really dirty. I went back and forth on staying and should have known better. We left at 11pm to drive home , we couldn’t sleep there (we tried). It wasn’t noise related just the musty smell and the outdated (very ) room. The staff was very very gracious , it’s just a very outdated property but the price was worth giving it a shot.

Room was medicore, our mini fridge seal was broken and water leaked all over the floor. We only stayed one night for a break from our long drive to our destination. Area was nice & the staff were good too.

My stay here at this Super 8 located in Hattiesburg, MS was okay, better than expected Front desk • pleasure to deal with. Check-in and out went flawlessly. The customer service provided was slammed dunked. Room • Clean, smelled good. Spacious and so so comfortable feeling. Bed •Clean, and comfortable for my taste. Bathroom •Was clean •Shower head was good, in my opinion, the water stream was great and the hot water was hot •clean towels Breakfast • still unsure if they had a breakfast location WiFi connection • Login was easy with the provided password just remember to include the hyphen (-). Speeds were Consistent. So, all in all, I give this. This hotel has served what I was looking for. Could have been a little bit more updated but it is what it is. My room was in the second building, first floor nonsmoking.

The following morning I went to front desk because I couldn’t sleep all night. The receptionist told they don’t have maintenance on weekends and they can’t fix the air condition. She offered to check me out and look for another hotel around since they are fully booked, and she will refund my money. To surprised, she refunded half of the money. I didn’t not even bother to argue with her because I’m and I need somewhere to rest.

The ac unit was extremely loud but it did drown out the heavy traffic all night.

Front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable. However, the bathroom had cracks in the wall where the ceiling and shower were. Also, there was no hot water.

The lock to the room only kind of worked. Had to try the door card several times to get it to unlock. Turned it in to the desk with no results. Floor was dirty in the room. When stepping into the shower the dirt on the bottom of my feet turned the shower floor black. The tile in the room is black so don’t see it till it sticks to your feet.

Staff was great

Check-in was smooth with a friendly smile, room was nice, reasonably priced, quiet and comfortable. Refrigerator, microwave coffee pot and iron. Area was fine with lots of shopping and dining options. The best part was the fact No Pets Were Allowed. Got nothing against pets but I don't have any. They are like children and must be responsibly cared for. That being said, I stay in lots of hotels with my job. I'm tired of literally smelling the dog house. I've been eaten up by fleas, I've had dog hair on everything and even asked one hotel to come and clean the piss left on the floor. It's beyond belief that hotels would open there doors to this. I was so pleased I didn't have deal with any of that here. Thank you Super 8 in Hattisburg, MS. It was a pleasurable stay and I will be back!

Christie at the front desk needs to be recognized for her great leadership, customer, service skills, genuineness, and her compassion. She made me feel at home from the very beginning. Overall, my entire stay, which was four days was absolutely fantastic. And I highly recommend this super eight Motel.

The room was old and needed to be painted or at least cleaned really well. The walls and doors looked like they hadn't been wiped down in a while. The positives were the front desk staff was really helpful. We had to check in late and they held our room for us. The bed was also very comfortable.

The room smelled wet and stale. The front desk and housekeepers were extremely rude. I agreed to late check out for $20 more and signed for it on my phone. The housekeeper came in my room when we were loading up to leave saying do you know what time it is ? Check out was 11. She put her foot in the door holding it open and i was in the bathroom not even fully dressed. I went to front check out and he was also extremely rude and racist. Said that did not just happen. Told him to pull up the video and watch. He told me to leave. Worst hotel service ever.

My family was unable to stay in this dirty hotel that had no parking, in a bad part of town next to a convenience store. I will be asking for a refund.

This property is old and very poorly maintained. There were water leaks and a portion of the 2nd floor was surrounded by caution tape and being held up by a large wooden beam. The breakfast offerings were very scant as well. Would not recommend and won’t stay there again.

OMG Completely run down place. Room NOT clean, bathroom NOT clean. Breakfast consists of bread, cereal and coffee. Never going back

Bad weather and a long day of travel made us stop in Hattiesburg. The front desk staff was quick to check us in. The room was okay, but needed some work and TLC. I couldn’t use the hair dryer because of an electrical issue. The coffee was excellent, but that’s the only positive thing I can share about breakfast. I can only suggest some maintenance and cleaning for the grounds and room. I would not recommend this place

Our king room was great, clean comfortable bed, room was nice, except the fridge compressor sounded like a ticking time bomb all night. Breakfast was very basic, toast, butter, apple danish in a packet, cereal and coffee, if you want jam for you toast bring your own. The room was value for money, for the other guests, just remember the wooden walls are thin and everyone can hear your fun and games.
