Expedia lists this property as 4*. The property itself only claims to be 3*. I would be interested to see the criteria that got it into the 3* category as it’s pretty limited. If you’re just looking for cheap & cheerful, then this is probably fine. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the air conditioning works. A bit odd that we were only supplied with 1 glass and 1 towel, when the booking was for 2 people, but I’m sure if we had asked for another they’d have been fine. The hotel is right on a main road into the city, so if your room is at the front, road noise will be a problem. We were at the back thankfully, but there was still quite a bit of noise, both from outside and within the hotel. The rooftop pool was pretty small, about 10 feet by 15 feet. We didn’t get in because it needed a clean. It’s about 45 minutes walk to the city centre. About 25 minutes taxi ride from the airport. We paid about 220MAD in the middle of the night and 150 in the day. Overall, not too impressed. Feel Expedia oversold the hotel.

Plus points: Good location, rooftop pool, friendly staff. Unfortunately my room got completely flooded on the second day and I had to move. Other issues. Card keys were temperamental, no fridge in the original room, no net curtains, towels were taken but not replaced until I asked. Rooms at front of hotel was very noisy from the street.

Convenient location, easy reach to restaurants and sight seeing. Staff helpful even though there is a language barrier. Rooms decent, air con and Wi-Fi very good. Supermarket close by which is useful. Only downside is the limited options at breakfast as it can get very repetitive and boring when you are staying longer. Pool small but good and cleaned daily

The hotel is in a great location in Gueliz which has some good amenities around the area and has a swimming pool at the top which I liked and a sitting area as well. Only thing I didn't like was how small the washing basin was and when I had a shower the water leaked on the bathroom floor making it quite wet when coming out

Great hotel with super helpful and friendly service. I had a lovely room with big shower and very comfy double bed. I enjoyed the pool and the loungers but also the shade. And the staff could not have been more helpful.

First point is that this is a 3* hotel not a four as advertised on hotels.com. It looks rather grander in the photos than real life. The hotel is located at a junction on Ave Mohamed V, next to a somewhat larger 4* hotel. There is some traffic noise. There is a SMALL outdoor swimming pool on the roof. Rooms were clean if a little dated, with prompt and efficient house-keeping. Bed was comfortable. Staff on front desk were very helpful. The hotel is near a large shopping centre, and less than 15 minutes walk from the station. There are various shops and cafes nearby. The Medina is around 25 minutes walk. It's a good value and convenient hotel for the new town, but not a luxury hotel, which is most people's definition of 4*

This property was listed incorrectly as a 4 star on Expedia website. When we got there it was a 3 star. The hotel was shabby and no one could speak English apart from the manager who wasn’t there! We had booked 2 king size beds but got 2 double beds as the rooms were very small and compact. The shower was broken. Total rip off.

Catastrophique, chambre dans un etat deplorable, 3 changements pour avoir une chasse deau qui fonctionne mais pas la tv, proprete de la douche douteuse, serviette reche... hôtel tres tres bruyant, pas de double vitrage, pas d'isolation...personnel qui ne fait aucun effort pour comprendre ni pour aider, pas aimable ni serviable...

Hôtel très très bruyant, n’oubliez surtout pas vos boules Quies si vous voulez espérer fermer l’œil de la nuit. La télévision ne fonctionne pas et le personnel s’en fiche, la salle de bain est très sale avec en cadeau les « restes » des précédents, et le pompon du dernier jour de mon séjour, les femmes de chambre ne sont même pas passés « faire » la chambre alors que je l’ai quitté à 11h du matin, et à la réception ils s’en fiche tout autant… Je veux bien m’adapter à l’exigence marocaine, mais pour un hôtel soi-disant « trois étoiles », on se fiche de vous. Je ne conseille pas.

The hotel is very good, and everything in it is good. The only problem is the noise coming from the street. The noise is so loud that it becomes exhausting. The balcony has two doors, yet the noise is still clearly loud.

The location of the hotel is good, it’s easy to get around because taxis drive right outside the door The staff there are friendly however my shower was very small which in turn made the bathroom floor wet. Otherwise it was a good stay for a short time

The staff were welcoming and the housekeeping was good, fresh towels and a tidy up daily, respectful of my things when I’d left in a hurry in the morning. My only criticism of the hotel itself was that I had advised that some mornings I had an early start and my breakfast slot was at 8, some of my trips started earlier, I was assured I would be able to get some coffee and pastries/yoghurt etc but nothing hot (which was only an egg) several days I left for very long day trips without breakfast which I had paid for. The staff could be more attentive and the service quicker with more consideration. I will probably look for an alternative venue for my next trip. Also, if you stay at the front of the hotel the noise from the road continues into the early hours…. Beeping horns and revving motorbikes/cars felt like I was at a race track… and the fumes that entered through to glazing was overpowering.

It’s 3 star hotel not 4 as stated on hotels.com. First floor facing the street, very loud it was if the windows was open but wasn’t. Very stuffy in the room like someone had smoked or lots of dust

Catastrophique, chambre dans un etat deplorable, 3 changements pour avoir une chasse deau qui fonctionne mais pas la tv, proprete de la douche douteuse, serviette reche... hôtel tres tres bruyant, pas de double vitrage, pas d'isolation...personnel qui ne fait aucun effort pour comprendre ni pour aider, pas aimable ni serviable...

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The location is prime, making it easy to get around with taxis available right outside. There's also great food options just behind the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience!

Great hotel with super helpful and friendly service. I had a lovely room with big shower and very comfy double bed. I enjoyed the pool and the loungers but also the shade. And the staff could not have been more helpful.

The staff were welcoming and the housekeeping was good, fresh towels and a tidy up daily, respectful of my things when I’d left in a hurry in the morning. My only criticism of the hotel itself was that I had advised that some mornings I had an early start and my breakfast slot was at 8, some of my trips started earlier, I was assured I would be able to get some coffee and pastries/yoghurt etc but nothing hot (which was only an egg) several days I left for very long day trips without breakfast which I had paid for. The staff could be more attentive and the service quicker with more consideration. I will probably look for an alternative venue for my next trip. Also, if you stay at the front of the hotel the noise from the road continues into the early hours…. Beeping horns and revving motorbikes/cars felt like I was at a race track… and the fumes that entered through to glazing was overpowering.

Plus points: Good location, rooftop pool, friendly staff. Unfortunately my room got completely flooded on the second day and I had to move. Other issues. Card keys were temperamental, no fridge in the original room, no net curtains, towels were taken but not replaced until I asked. Rooms at front of hotel was very noisy from the street.

Convenient location, easy reach to restaurants and sight seeing. Staff helpful even though there is a language barrier. Rooms decent, air con and Wi-Fi very good. Ubicado en la zona nueva de Marrakech, está muy bien el hotel, tienes el autobús frente para ir a la famosa plaza fna, te tomará algo de 20 minutos ir en autobús, está bien conectada.

The location of the hotel is good, it’s easy to get around because taxis drive right outside the door The staff there are friendly however my shower was very small which in turn made the bathroom floor wet. Otherwise it was a good stay for a short time

First point is that this is a 3* hotel not a four as advertised on hotels.com. It looks rather grander in the photos than real life. The hotel is located at a junction on Ave Mohamed V, next to a somewhat larger 4* hotel. There is some traffic noise. There is a SMALL outdoor swimming pool on the roof. Rooms were clean if a little dated, with prompt and efficient house-keeping. Bed was comfortable. Staff on front desk were very helpful. The hotel is near a large shopping centre, and less than 15 minutes walk from the station. There are various shops and cafes nearby. The Medina is around 25 minutes walk. It's a good value and convenient hotel for the new town, but not a luxury hotel, which is most people's definition of 4*

Excellent hotel service and location. Basic accommodation but very comfortable. I visit marrakech a few times a year and stay at b7dget hotels to five star hotels. I really did not have any complaint apart from the plate of breakfast needs to be bigger and coffee needs to be hotter.

This is the 2nd stay for me at Hotel Mont Gueliz. I am a solo female traveller, the area is a big yes for me and this hotel I have found to be really friendly. The room is cleaned daily and if any issues they are quickly rectified. Reception staff are friendly and polite. Breakfast is great! There is a plunge pool which does need attention due to broken tiles but it is a great relief on hot days to dip in. It was seen on this trip that they are upgrading parts of the hotel. Sunbeds had new cushions which was great. The terraced seating had all new seating pads and cushions which I loved the colours and 100% better. The shower by the pool needs replacing. My room- This time I had one at the back of the hotel and I am a little quirky as I definitely prefer one at the front with it facing the boulevard traffic. The air con worked fine. Both trips I have never managed to get the tv's to work but that isnt a problem as I am not there enough to worry Bathrooms are small!! Showers are tiny and they have leaked both times but my floor mat mops it up and i hang it to dry. I love this little hotel and when I am back in Marrakech it will be on my list to rebook. If you want posh and snazzy this isnt the place for you. This is a friendly, budget & head down place.
