Th security at this property was atrocious. The door to our room did not lock either when we were in the room or if we left the room The owner just said its ok i can watch on CCTV if anyone goes in our room The reception was not manned 24 hr Anyone could enter at anytime day or night Also no mention till we checked in about having to pay £6.00 to park there on ou night stay Not happy at all not happy having to pay for unsecured room or parking

Be aware that, contrary to the description, there is NO airport shuttle, NO bar, NO restaurant. There were no towels in the bathroom. There was a large dead spider on the ceiling. The kettle had not been emptied and cleaned and was unusable. Spend a little more and book somewhere else.

I couldn't open my room's door and the receprionist was aware of this problem already. it's not very safe. When I got home, I received a fine for parking. The receptioinst didn't tell me about parking restrictions.

Arrived late and left really early in the morning, but still had to pay full fee for parking. Why should you have to pay for parking, its in the middle of nowhere. The room was very hot but the worst bit was how noisey it was. I dont think the receptionist talking to people outside at 2am, knew how to keep his voice down. Yes im tired and grumpy reviewing this, but come on. I suppose you get what you get for 40 quid. Never again though.

Hotel was reasonably clean and tidy only problem you had to pay to park on there premises which I think is a joke so I parked across the road for free other than that was good and did it's job

Online it claims to have a restaurant - it doesn't, wifi doesn't work, no possibility to book the airport shuttle although it claims to provide that service, the "wardrobe" was a hook on the wall with one plastic hanger. Only light switch and light by the door - no beside light or switch. Alarm call for the morning not available. The room smelt musty and the bathroom smelt worse. The young man staffing the wonky table which serves as reception was helpful but nothing he could do to improve the stay.

Guy on reception was friendly and chatty but that was the only positive. The place just feels unloved, old tatty carpet, damp smell, dusty, mouldy smell, bed was bit uncomfy, half a toilet roll, light bulb missing, cracked wobbly bathroom tiles, door bashes sink if opened fully, no shower curtain, limescale on showerhead, tiles still dirty, streaky mirrors and most annoying 1 coffee sachet! I use two per cup. Definitely not value for money. Wasnt expecting much for £50 but cleanliness was lacking. No attention to detail eg linen sticker from laundry still on sheet

The hotel looks nice from the outside as does the reception area and the guy working there was lovely and polite and helped carry our bags to the room. We arrived at 9pm and due to leave at 5am for the airport and I'm glad we didn't have to stay longer. There was some rubbish left by the last person who stayed there by the kettle, empty vape box and screwed up tissue. Cobwebs around the room. Bedsheets were clean, I unrolled my towel to find it damp and with a pubic hair on it, glad I didn't need to shower! No blind on the window either as was broken. Only one pillow. Bathroom had lots of limesvsle build up. The whole room just didn't feel clean. We just tried to get our heads down for a few hours before our flight. Definitely won't be back.

The room appeared to be neat. I dropped my knitting needle on the floor and while looking for it, I found there to be quite a bit of dust under the bed. When I went to take a shower, the edge of the shower door was cracked and it poked my thumb which bled a little. The number one reason I chose this place is because the bus came right at the door. I found out after I got there that the bus does not come on Sunday. So I needed to pay 27 pounds for a 5 minute taxi to the airport. They said they were 1.5 miles from the airport.

For £59 a night I was not expecting much, therefore I wasn't too surprised by the spider webs above the bed. Otherwise, the room seemed clean, the bed too and we had 2 clean towels. Unfortunately, we had to sacrifice one towel to the bathroom floor because the shower bassinet was leaking like crazy. On top of that the water was lukewarm so if you like to take a hot shower, this is not the place. The worst thing about the stay was the not flushing toilet. That was just awful.

This place is for convenience, not luxury! The room I was given was next to a busy road and also a residents room who had the TV on quite loud most of the night! The bed was fine, but the bathroom in poor condition and smelly. The staircase and landing area was also dirty. The only plus was it being a short bus ride to and from the airport.

This definitely is dont judge on first appearance!! Arrived & paked in the only 1 disabled space, but 1s better than none. Entered into a spacious reception & greeted politely, oyr roon was just to the right so access ideal. We opened the room door & thought geeat a good size Unfortunately thats were the praise ends!! The room had damaged flooring a bed with no headboard no mattress or pillow protectors, only 1 towrl in the room a kettle that did not work lights that didnt work & although there was wifi instructions in the reception & room neither worked. The bathroom had rust and rails that fell apart - the shower had missing rail connections so you coukdnt adjust the height. On our return in the evening the parking area was completely full, random vehicles including lots of taxis so no where to park

First room the tv was broken. I went back ro reception and they gave me the key to another room and asked me to move. I did then checked and the new rooms tv was broken too. They suggedted i move again but i asked for a replacement tv which arrived but the screen was sticky-taped on and with no coax cable i couldd not get local tv channels. The rooms were tired and worn and need a refit. Very basic budget accomodation.

It would be useful to have a leaflet in the room informing of bus times to and from the airport and a better idea of where it is possible to eat. Information can be updated every day if, for example, the nearest eatery is closed, as it was during my visit. There needs to be better acoustic insulation between rooms.

Convenient location in close proximity to Stanstead airport. The 508 bus is handy to be dropped off within 100yds and get back to the airport again. Room info needed updating as no dining options. TV signal was hit and miss and my shower was leaking. However, I would use this place again due to convenient location and reasonable price.

Probably the worst hotel I have ever visited. Last minute emergency booking. Unclean damp room, draft, no light, broken shower. Reception guy was miserable and unhelpful. Disgraceful.

Room was basic but very clean and comfortable. Reception attendant welcoming and helpful. Great for the price. A little noisy when guests arrived but our room was very nearby so a bit unavoidable.

My flight was delayed past midnight and in the advert it said they accepted check in until 1 am. When I called to say I had been delayed past midnight they moved me to the Deslais hotel as apparently checkin ends at midnight. This was good but I was in a small room above reception and the guy was listening to videos on his phone very loudly. He turned it down when I asked. The hotel room was very basic. It was clean. Felt more like I was in a student room than a hotel room. It served its purpose

Guy on reception was friendly and chatty but that was the only positive. The place just feels unloved, old tatty carpet, damp smell, dusty, mouldy smell, bed was bit uncomfy, half a toilet roll, light bulb missing, cracked wobbly bathroom tiles, door bashes sink if opened fully, no shower curtain, limescale on showerhead, tiles still dirty, streaky mirrors and most annoying 1 coffee sachet! I use two per cup. Definitely not value for money. Wasnt expecting much for £50 but cleanliness was lacking. No attention to detail eg linen sticker from laundry still on sheet

I have stayed 3 nights , No hot shower freezing water in bath Flight got cancelled then went back for 2 more nights same room no 21 No hot shower again . Reported to receptionist few times , no one seems to be bothered, no house keeping no fresh towels next day unless you go ask for it. Most of the time no body sitting @ Reception it’s like ghost hotel with very poor stay . Wouldn’t recommend to anyone, unless they improve service. Muhammad ishaq

Booked because the plane was arriving so late at night & wanted a nights sleep before having to drive home. Later realised that hotel didn’t have 24 hour check in so if plane was delayed we wouldn’t be able to check in. Booked another hotel instead. Very annoyed that a hotel describing itself as an “airport” hotel does not make this clear up front.

My stay was really terrible. The staff was very unfriendly. My room door initially didn’t want to lock and that made me feel very unsafe … the manager got really annoyed with as he insisted I could work the door but even he struggle locking it. I got so upset and started crying as I felt extremely unsafe. Even after I asked to be moved to another room he made it clear that my room was the best in the place. But if that was the best then I seriously don’t want to see what the worst room looks like. I also didn’t have any towels in my room and had go and ask for some. Absolutely terrible service.

Can't complain for the price. I was just looking for a cheap hotel near stansted before catching my plane and it did the job perfectly. Its really close to the airport and there is a bus right next to the hotel....definitely recommend.

Very Basic. Bed was OK. Only one towel which got wet as the shower had no curtain at its end, so water sprayed out. No food so I had to walk a mile and a half to a pub and back in the heat of June 21st. Not good for my age bracket (elderly). Very handy for Stansted airport (which is why I booked it) but the taxi cost me about £25 for a 7 minute trip! I wouldn't go again.

This place does exactly what it says on the tin. Nothing too fancy, not the cleanest place out there, but the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and the kettle works great. Not a lot to complain about if you're not expecting The Bellagio in Vegas. Overall, it was good experience. I also walked from Stansted airport both ways, which took about an hour and this was an excellent substitute for sleeping on an airport floor. There's also a bus that runs right past it to the airport, which could also be nice.

It was way too far from the airport, taxi cost a fortune.. if you got one. Very old house, creeking flooring, sadly no hair dryer.

Convenient location in close proximity to Stanstead airport. The 508 bus is handy to be dropped off within 100yds and get back to the airport again. Room info needed updating as no dining options. TV signal was hit and miss and my shower was leaking. However, I would use this place again due to convenient location and reasonable price.

Good location but very limited evening bus service from the airport. The 308 arrives at the airport from Great Dunmow at about 21.20 and returns immediately to Takeley, before going out of service. My driver was prepared to take me to Takeley Street / Stansted Airport Lodge as it was on her way back to the depot. This bus isn't shown on any of the airport timetables.

Be aware that, contrary to the description, there is NO airport shuttle, NO bar, NO restaurant. There were no towels in the bathroom. There was a large dead spider on the ceiling. The kettle had not been emptied and cleaned and was unusable. Spend a little more and book somewhere else.

There were 2 pillows but were on top of cushions, you could feel the springs in the mattress, you had to hold the shower head as there was no holder, the water never drained, the restaurant was closed, luckily we had eaten before, but could of done with letting guesses know as I was wanting a few drinks on arrival

It wasn’t unclean, but felt like it was; it was more worn out. There was a wierd smell in the air. It says it has a restaurant and bar, but not at 9pm it didn't. They told me it was better to order a take away, but the wait times were too long. So i ended up without (should have bought a sandwich before getting my Uber). There was no transport to or from the hotel (or i.would get a bus and.walk 27 minutes) which is why I got an Uber.

The property was in good condition and the bedroom was perfectly OK. The young Asian man who booked us in was very pleasant and helpful when a small problem arose. Unfortunately he enterprise seems to have gone downhill as there was no restaurant as advertised and the Wi-Fi did not work, even we were given the "correct" login details for the router. Handy for the airport though!

The room stunk of Bad body odour, the cups were dirty around the handles, floor was coming apart, thudding from upstairs so sleep was poor. Was advertised has having a restaurant but wasn’t one. The only positive was the man on reception was very polite and helpful.

It may be a case of ‘you get what you pay for’, but I would’ve at least liked to have had a reasonable amount of sleep. On first glance, not too bad. However we soon noticed that the cushions on the bed were in need of a wash and the bedsheet just about covered the mattress, but wasn’t big enough to tuck in and therefore moved every time we did. The mattress crunched every time you moved on it and was so bouncy was like being on a waterbed. We must’ve had approximately 3 hours sleep. It was so uncomfortable. There was a pool of water on a shelf in the bathroom which appeared to be a leak from the tap, which was very rusted. We were provided with a half used tube of shower gel to use and approximately 4 sheets of toilet paper. The longer we stayed in the room, the more we could smell damp and feet. We’re not fussy travellers, and I appreciate the cost was low, but the basics should still be provided.

Nice and cozy room, but overpriced. You have no restaurants or shops neaby. The mini Shampoo bottles in the Bathroom wasnt changed from the last guest, so I cant give a high rating here.

This was a disgusting place to stay, and I will not be recommending this to anyone that is interested in staying close to STN airport. The staff was rude, and they were very loud until close to 4 am - smoking and yelling outside the windows. The windows also couldn't close all the way, and everything smelled like cigarette smoke.
