The hotel is fabulous. I love how its so open air and modern. The location is perfect - surrounded by great shops and restaurants, a few minutes from the beach. They have a great gym, climbing wall, ping pong, corn hole, foosball, free wine and beer daily from 4-5 for hotel guests and smores from 5-8 daily. They also have all the necessities for guests - beach cruisers, beach chairs, towels, etc. t's such a friendly and social vibe. One of my favorite hotels I've been to. I highly recommend!

What a nice hidden gem. Super cute beach vibe. Great location to the beach and shopping. Hotel was super clean, excellent service, and the restaurant was fantastic. Only wished it had a pool and a jacuzzi!

Great ambience, the hotel amenities were a great value, they had bikes available s’mores packets and the bar was really fun. Really a great place to chill and relax, very dog friendly. We really enjoyed seeing all the dogs. Every worker was very friendly. The room was clean and comfy .

Excellent Hotel with great staff. Gym is very good if you are into that. Social hour, free coffee and s'mores are a nice touch. Location is great with many dining options within walking distance. The HB pier is 1 minute away. Also, they have many beach items that they will gladly give you to use as well as rental bikes!

Comfortable room, coffee service 6-10am, beer and wine 5-6pm (all gratis) in lobby. Did not get to use the fitness center but it looked well equipped and included a climbing wall. Excellent restaurants nearby. Directly across from the beach and HB pier, beautiful area.

We loved the free amenities, such as bicycles, beach towels, accessories for the beach, in room record player with a large selection of records to choose from in the lobby, fun games to play like ping-pong, video games, and cornhole. They had great nightly specials, such as free beer and wine, free s’mores kits with fire pits to use and a refreshing selection of flavored waters and iced tea. My family and I cannot wait to come back and stay longer..

The Shorebreak lives up to the Kimpton standard of being a cool, funky, and fun experience from beginning to end. The property is great and located right next to the pier. The lobby area is pretty amazing, with coffee at 6am sharp and tremendous sitting areas that I enjoyed every morning. Lots of amenities and very friendly staff. The restaurant is also very good with some of the best breakfasts - particularly at a hotel - I have had in a long time.

Cool beach motif, has a daily meet and greet with guests, huge gas fire pits with S’mores, an excellent restaurant and is in a fantastic location right by the pier. The hotel offers free bikes and a small selection of surf boards. Has games such as corn hole, ping pong and foosball. Great vibe!

Hotel is clean, across from the beach and pier but the staff and all the little extra touches made it feel like a boutique hotel. From the smores at night to social hours, pet friendly and the staff was great! I would recommend to everyone!!

This was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in a very long time. Everything was clean and the room was very quiet! I could lay down and relax in this room and feel safe. It was such a restful stay here! I loved the location around the hotel. I could walk to the pier and watch the surfers. I enjoyed walking around and window shopping in the area. Those aspects of the hotel were really nice. I had breakfast before sunrise at a local cafe and listened to the surfers plan their days. I loved the decor around the hotel as well. They had incredible pictures of surfing and waves that spanned decades. It was worth stopping and looking at the pictures throughout the day. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. I'll try to stay here again the next time I'm in town.

The room was clean, bathroom seemed old, tiles were dirty on the wall. Basics were alright. The bed was too hard and lumpy in the pillow top. Pillows were too hard. Hard to open the curtain on the window due to a desk placed in front of it. I expected more from the restaurant. Would have like some variety for breakfast. We found a great place to go, would have preferred to eat there. All the dogs were the highlight. Didn’t get a chance to partake of the other guest amenities.

The hotel seemed great upon first arrival, however it kind of fell apart after that. On the first night the wife and I were laying in the bed hanging out. We decided to get up and shower and in moment my wife pulled the comforter back and we found bugs. We notified the front desk and a maintenance person and a manager came to our room and after a look they decided to move us to and upgraded room, gave us 100 dollar credit and they dry cleaned all the clothing we were wearing. I felt like their reaction was very appropriate at the time. Apparently the hotel staff did as well. The next day my wife and I went out for most of the day. When we came back the plan was to get ready for our dinner reservation. When we walked in room service had not come and I needed to request at least new towels so we could shower. They asked us to ensure we didnt have our do not disturb tag on the door which we didnt and I notified them were gone for most of the day. After 40 mins we at least got some towels. My wife and I had a nice dinner then returned back to our room. Again we were hanging for a bit then our room filled with the stank smell of weed coming from somewhere else on the floor. Pretty annoying again not the hotels fault but just added to the annoyances of our stay. We checked out today, we never heard from the manager again even though we were told they would let us know if the bugs were bed bugs or not. Just a disappointing trip for wife and I.

The room not very clean at all. The sheets looked dirty. My gf was itching like crazy from the first night we stayed. The bathroom was disgusting. Our room number was broken. Room service was terrible. We called and called, no one answered. When we called the front desk they said we had to go down to place our order. That’s not room service. The foosball table is assembled incorrectly as well. Also, you’re charged for parking from the hotel as well as the parking garage. So you pay 72 dollars a day to park there. That’s incredibly expensive. We will not be coming back to Kimpton Shorebreak.

Great property overall: very fun beach-y hostel vibe. Busy and active front desk and common areas as guests are always around using facilities; of which there are many. Appreciated the free flavored waters and complimentary s'mores sets for roasting by the fire. The board games, ambience and extremely friendly staff. Excellent location being steps from the beach and Main Street. The room however, while appears updated and trendy, is not up to Kimpton cleaning standards. The carpet was full of dust and debris. The table had crumbs and dust all over. Pillows had hair on them. The washroom was the worst offender with stark white tiles you could see all the hair from the previous guests all over the floor and the grating was turning yellow and orange. Towels also had hair in them from previous guests. Shower floor was also dirty and the controls to use it were broken, had to guess how much to turn it etc. for hot and cold water. Not to mention, the shower was so big, but the shower head was a rinky dinky little one that did not suit the washroom at all. Other than cleanliness and a broken shower, it is a fun property to stay at.
Great property overall: very fun beach-y hostel vibe. Busy and active front desk and common areas as guests are always around using facilities; of which there are many. Appreciated the free flavored waters and complimentary s'mores sets for roasting by the fire. The board games, ambience and extremely friendly staff. Excellent location being steps from the beach and Main Street. The room however, while appears updated and trendy, is not up to Kimpton cleaning standards. The carpet was full of dust and debris. The table had crumbs and dust all over. Pillows had hair on them. The washroom was the worst offender with stark white tiles you could see all the hair from the previous guests all over the floor and the grating was turning yellow and orange. Towels also had hair in them from previous guests. Shower floor was also dirty and the controls to use it were broken, had to guess how much to turn it etc. for hot and cold water. Not to mention, the shower was so big, but the shower head was a rinky dinky little one that did not suit the washroom at all. Other than cleanliness and a broken shower, it is a fun property to stay at.

Loved the beach view and that all the shopping and dining was walking distance. Rooms really need updating and our headboard on our bed was stained as well as the clock next to the bed had chocolate or something smeared into it.

Fantastic stay in great location! Walking distance to tons of great restaurants and shops and most importantly, the BEACH! Love the decor and vibe of this hotel, super friendly staff and rooms were clean and spacious, even had a record player which was fun! Had a great stay, would definitely stay here again.

Overall great experience… I didn’t realize there is no pool but there is a very nice patio area with comfortable seating and fire pits. Our balcony was so small you couldn’t sit on it…literally. So if you enjoy sitting on a balcony check the size that comes with your room. And the street noise level on the ocean side was very high so if that bothers you at night then I wouldn’t recommend ocean view. The Pacific restaurant was great for breakfast a couple of mornings but other than that we ate outside of the hotel.

We love this hotel and have had great stays previously. However this time, the room had a very loud hum noise throughout the night. It may have been the elevator shaft, or a generator, but it caused us all to have a terrible sleep. The staff weren’t very sympathetic to this on check out which actually ruined the stay for us.

They make it seem like you can try and change the temp, at the thermostat, and briefly, it cools, but then, real quick, it regulates back to an unconscionable, humid, level temperature. I obviously tried having the door open, but of course, by the water, so mosquitoes were still coming in with the sheer curtain closed. They sent me up an industrial size fan, and the noise pollution was on par with being outside a busy airport. I regret sooo much, spending almost $2000, at a weekend resort where I can’t even stay in a room that can be cooled off by air conditioning. My goal was to relax, rest, get out of the heat and instead I left stressed, completely unrested and very frustrated.

I had a very comfortable 2 night stay. I attempted to book 2 more nights, but the hotel was sold out. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but the housekeeping service was quite slow. My room was not cleaned until around 4-5 pm, even though I had left at 8:15 in the morning for meeting.

I went to this hotel for Valentine's weekend expecting to have a wonderful time. I experienced criminality and disrespect of being lied to by hotel management, Mr. Maldonado. We entrusted our $100,000 vehicle with the hotel’s valet, and within hours we were contacted by the Huntington Beach Police Department that our car glass was smashed and the paint and interior were severely damaged during a car theft attempt while in the care of the hotel's valet service. Mr. Maldonado graciously sought to offset the destruction of our Valentine's weekend by crediting our resort fee and one-half of our hotel fees; as our Valentine's evening was ruined and we lost half of a Saturday dealing with our damaged vehicle and acquiring substitute transportation. Mr. Maldonado did not follow through with his promised refund of our one-half hotel stay, and he has now begun to lie about the existence of that very specific promise. Everything was above and beyond what I expected. The service received from check in till check out. Mainly the service received from Jackson at front desk, from the moment when I was checking in. I’ve worked in customer service over 20 years and I believe that he’s an incredible asset to your company and would make a great assistant manager going to manager over time. Well maintained property, amazing location, everything the hotel has to offer and the restaurant was next level. And it was pet friendly, we were able to bring our 2 dogs to celebrate my wife’s birthday and ended up extending for another day, wanted to stay longer, but had to go back home and get back on schedule.

We loved the property and our stay. The unique record players and vinyl library were an excellent touch and you can’t miss with pacific hideaways offerings. As an Expedia gold member I am used to receiving the room upgrade perks as it’s a main reason I booked this hotel. Upon arrival we were offered room upgrades of multiple types for additional amounts, I asked about my free room upgrade as it is listed as included if rooms were available, and based on me being offered room upgrades they were available. So, I will admit, that portion of our stay was disappointing. I would return and stay again, but would have like to see the vip amenities listed actually being provided.

On day three of my five-day stay my wife had a medical emergency. She was in the room and I was 35 minutes away. She was in so much pain she could only text me to have me call 911. I call 911 and they ar eon their way. I called the hotel to tell them so they could direct the paramedics and open the door. When I call, they answer and put me immediately on hold. After 5 minutes on hold, I call back. The clerk says can you hold please. I say NO, its an emergency. He says, I am sorry but I am busy. I call back pick the sales staff option but get VM. I call back a third time and get accounting. THey said they would let housekeeping know. When the paramedics got there, they had to wait for my wife to open the door even though she was in incredible pain (she had to have emergency gall bladder removal surgery). The next day, I call from the hospital asking for the GM. It goes to VM. I have never heard from management, which may explain the poor training, and I don't care about the attitude of the staff. Hugely disappointed. With two other brands down the street, I will give them my business next time I am in town.

The perfect location when visiting Huntington Beach, right across the street from the beach and the pier with great amenities. Conveniently located near all the shops and restaurants making walking a breeze. We loved the social hour and the s’mores at night. The place is decorated beautifully with a coastal surfer feel that really encompasses the area. And the fact that they are pet friendly was even more of a plus. We had one issue with our room and with no hesitation at all the staff moved us promptly. Absolutely loved our stay and wish we were here longer to enjoy it more! Can’t wait to go back

The grounds were honestly really cool and pretty!! I loved the modern look and vibe it has as soon as you walk in, feels very homey and vibes are there. The staff was excellent and very professional and friendly with my girlfriend and myself. Our room was great and nice and cozy, and we really enjoyed our breakfast! We will definitely be back again for another trip especially with how great the location is as well!

The room was clean, bathroom seemed old, tiles were dirty on the wall. Basics were alright. The bed was too hard and lumpy in the pillow top. Pillows were too hard. Hard to open the curtain on the window due to a desk placed in front of it. I expected more from the restaurant. Would have like some variety for breakfast. We found a great place to go, would have preferred to eat there. All the dogs were the highlight. Didn’t get a chance to partake of the other guest amenities.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, great perks like comfy beach chairs and towels and bikes, all for free. Great coffee available in the morning in the lounge area. We stayed for three nights. My only complaint is that the first full day we didn’t need cleaning so we hung the do not disturb sign. The second day we needed cleaning so didn’t hang the sign, but no one cleaned or replaced towels. Oh well, it was a short stay so we made due with what we had.

My only complaint is that the first full day we didn’t need cleaning so we hung the do not disturb sign. The second day we needed cleaning so didn’t hang the sign, but no one cleaned or replaced towels. Oh well, it was a short stay so we made due with what we had.

Fantastic location near Huntington Beach pier, Main Street, shopping, restaurants, and the beach. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The resort fee provides several nice amenities. There is hot coffee and cold brew from 6-10am. Social hour with beer, wine, soda, and a mixed drink option is available 5-6 pm. S'mores packets are available 5-9 pm and there are several fire pits to roast marshmallows. Beach cruisers (with locks and helmets) are available at no extra charge. There is a wonderful paved oceanfront trail which goes for 10+ miles and it is across the street from the hotel. There is Sunday yoga, but I was there midweek. There is a yoga mat & yoga on demand on the TV, but I did not use it. There is a gym with a rock climbing wall, but I didn't try it. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. It was quiet and I slept soundly. There is a Ms Pac Man video game and some other games in the lobby. The courtyard patio is a lovely space for social hour or roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. There is a restaurant just next to the lobby, but I didn't try it. Parking with valet is available for an additional charge. The valet service was excellent. We enjoyed thoroughly and hope to return one day.
